I wouldn't play Mario Kart enough to justify it. I can afford it, and I hate this ridiculous argument that not seeing the value in it somehow makes me poor. But I'd probably play MK for like a week and then what else is there? So, I'm happy to wait either for a true killer app or there to be a solid library of titles that aren't just third-party ports. There might even be a revision by then.

I was actually okay with $450 price before I read about the $80 games. Now I'm thinking they are just too greedy all around and won't buy the console unless the system drops to $350 at most.

Waiting for the oled version. Hell I might just wait out for a Deck 2/Z3E handheld over it at this point. The battery life simply isn't good enough.

if you're interested in a deck why the fuck would you ever buy a switch that is the epitome of no games vs. a deck with any game you can think of at your disposal? buying a switch is burning money unless the only thing you're interested in is that donkey kong mario slop

anon, first 6 months is basically launch. you'll save no money and only have a few more games to choose from. I guess if you plan on subscribing to the online (if you aren't already) then I can see why you might delay. but it might just be harder to get in the next 6 months.

I really want it. I went the entirety of the Switch gen ignoring Nintendo because as a Wii U owner I hated how they handled that console and the transition to the Switch. It had barely any games, all the good exclusives and series went to the 3DS, and they ported nearly all Wii U games to the Switch at full price with occasionally additional content so I could have just skipped that terrible gen and still played all the good games if I never bought a Wii U. It made me feel like I wasted my fucking money and time. In recent years my hatred of them has waned because the Switch looks like an honest to God second coming of the PS2 and with the Switch 2 I can play all of those games plus what the future holds. It’s going to be great

What Consoomer? By the time the Switch 2 is out the economy will be in such a bad state no one will be able to afford it, much less continually spending nearly a hundred dollars on a regular basis for games. Part of the reason the Switch 1 succeeded was that it was cheap. People could not afford the monstrosities that are the PS5 and SeriesX.

I already own a Deck. I agree that the Switch 2 is a waste currently but as a family console? It's fine. Once they start making multiplayer games I actually want to play that are exclusive to a Switch 2 then I'll pick one up.

If it came out last week it wouldn't matter. People have been getting steadily poorer and poorer for the last seven years since the switch 1 came out. It's not the same market. No one wants to spend 100 dollars per game in 2025 regardless of how the stock market is doing.
