Make a S-tier spinoff with the first HW having something for everyone

make a S-tier spinoff with the first HW having something for everyone

fuck it up being focused on a story no one gives fuck about

the third installment will do just that too

why did they fuck this up so badly? no one wants to play out this story, we just want to hack and slash as our favorite Zelda character when we didn't get a chance to do so beforehand, fuck are these retards doing?

Hyrule Warriors DE is the best game on Switch
The sequel is a fucking tragedy and I can’t believe they still doubled down on the BoTW era shit

I am just excited to have Mineru be playable

true don't get me wrong, there is still things to look forward but man the new direction is baffling

probably a cash grab with 90% reused and ported assets to fill out the switch 2 library on release

Age of Calamity sold a lot

ngl I'll cave in if they add Purah but she wasn't in that timeline

And was a better follow-up to BotW than TotK

Hyrule Castle's Great Hall accessible in AoC, not in TotK

Fully modeled Akkala Citadel Interior instead of a generic cave

doesn't make sense since it runs like shit on switch. Tendos just be buying whatever.

bro she is guaranteed to get in

Am I guaranteed to get in her?

First one had a fun story. But it had alot more going for it too.

The newer ones are waaaay too focused on BotW slop. I'm sick of it.

It's crazy to me how none of the games had the best character in the series playable in them. AoC could have expanded upon his teacher's characterization but they just ignored him entirely.

kaocbattle.webm - 1728x962, 4M

..you want a playable Ice Moblin?

He means Kass, the bird musician.
The vid is a mod using a Kass model over the Ravali.

It has potential, but I'd rather they just make more OCs (and I mean good ones like Lana, Cia and Wizzro, not the shitty hooded guy from AoC) over doing more time shenanigans and bring Link and his zoomer sage friends.

S-tier spinoff

Not with those monster battles.

It's a shame that you could only control Robbie with the control stick while Purah just follows him around on a floating ball. Plus she says "Click, snap" way too much.

All I wanted was Vaati
It’s not fair bros

Sooga

Warriors ruined Zelda by having TotK remove it's backstory in order accomadate it.

Haven't played HW for a year. Might have to get back into it. I'll never 100% those maps though.

The BotW HW games don't interest me and they fucked up the FE one. What else is there? Xenoblade Warriors I guess.

we could have just had that in HW2

I liked that Age of Calamity wrote itself into a corner with so few characters to pull they just went "Fuck it, Kohga is just over 100 years old now or something"

He just feels so damn good to play I even stopped minding him being DLC

Move on from Nintendo and do a Lord of the Rings one instead.

I agree but there hasn't been enough new zelda content since the dlc to justify a whole new game. The only new zelda games they can draw from is botw, totk, and eow and the first two are milked already with the orochi warriors versions of these games. I think we could still get a warriors 2 sometime after the next mainline zelda comes out as long as its not botw 3. They will probably try a different franchise to musou first or do fe warriors 2 before hw2

AoC needs a proper 60 fps conversion, it's not as smooth to play as the original even when forced through emulators.

At the risk of sounding like a redittor, I'm going to say it: Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity was a good game, just not a good musou game

To be fair he's a Sheikah

undying right hand to Ganon of this story

dumb, goofy, fat guy obsessed with phallic symbol food but also has massive cult of Hylian devotees for no real reason

Zant and Ghirahim he ain’t.

Shit, that’s actually not a bad idea

Plenty of good spin off games.
Some people swear on one piece 3 being absolute peak. Gundam had some pretty good ones too back in the day. although it did lean heavy on the memes.
youtube.com/watch?v=5iqaZoiL1as
both it and the FE one still feel more a musou game than origins sadly.

if you mean dynasty warriors origins it's good, and more like the ps2 games just minus the playable characters

And we all love him for it.

Origins is indeed too peak for musou standards.

phallic symbol food

That's an odd way to describe a banana, anon.

Congratulations, you're now using the same cope that pokefags use

idc, the direction is a downgrade when HW had a golden formual

BotW 3 Sigh of the Universe

Hyrule Warriors Age of Depression

You people sure seem to love rosterfagging when it involves anything other than Smash, huh.

ruined both mainline zelda AND spinoffs

god damn I'm so blackpilled by this, moreso on the spinoff part after we FINALLY got a truly good Zelda spinoff, no offense FSA guys but it was way too barebones to be great like that as fun as it was

I didn't even realize it had mods.
I heard someone say Koei Tecmo games are a bit hard to work with modding wise.

I'm still in disbelief they made another Age of Calamity to fill the holes AGAIN in that steaming pile of shit they called a story in TotK. This time we don't even get Link, which is fucking dumb and instead we get

Miserable and moody Zelda lead with some shitty psychic weapon gimmick

Goat man with a spear moveset taken straight from companion Sidon in TotK

Goat woman with another vehicle moveset probably worse than Rijus

Goat fucker with probably the same light power moveset as Zelda in AoC

Nameless, soulless and faceless champion clones who will probably have similar movesets to their descendants

Ganondorf

There's literally no one else relevant to 'canon' story, unless they make some annoying OC shit like Lana or Terrako again. I'm so fucking mad they made this, knowing it would be a cheap asset flip that will make millions because people are stupid.

I liked BotW, but hated TotK.

salesfags are incapable of understanding anything other than number go up

the biggest problem with FSA is that you need gbas and link cables to play it

A Link to the Past had an Imprisoning War in its backstory but let's make another one for TotK again

yeah, damn near no one had access like Amazing Mirror multiplayer which deserves a sequel with online

ikr is so frustrating talking to these bots

You forget the true hero waiting for his story to be told.

AncientHero.png - 637x1490, 1.39M

Kirby would lend itself well to a Warriors spinoff
Really would’ve taken anything other than AoC 2, yuck

Aonuma needs to be shot for ruining Zelda spinoff the moment they got good with his BoTW wank, fuck him

Link was sidelined in AoC anyway.

Worst Zelda lore decision ever.
Fortunately BotW Zelda is basically it's own lore separate from everything else at this point.

BotW gets a musou game

Skyward Sword didn't

Is it because they ruined it with motionshit

Think they'll squeeze Kohga into it too? Because at least it could make up for TotK keeping him unvoiced even though characters like Purah and Tulin got to keep their AoC voices (Tulin was in a DLC cutscene where he followed Teba back in time but got lost).

Skyward Sword was apart of the original HW game anon.

Yeah but made into a full game

Apart from the Skyward Sword representatives and legacy characters (Link, Zelda, Impa, and maybe Ganondorf as Demise's proxy), who would be playable besides Groose?

Light Dragon. Not as a 2 second cutscene off a special attack, an actual character

Star Wars Force Unleashed 3 could just be Dynasty Warriors too

Hell give me the original Dinraal, Naydra and Farosh before they were draconified

I still can't believe I got scammed into thinking AoC was a prequel to BotW

I loved this game but man, it really didn't need more than itself. It's already a 100+ hour experience with an additional hard mode DLC on top of that, plus all the mods (not that Nintendo cares about that, but...).
Maybe some time in the next decade they'll move on from it.

>fuck it up being focused on a story no one gives fuck about

Even if you did care, it's not canon, so there is no real point. Basically just a glorified fanfic. At least with HW1 see familiar stuff reinterpreted in the musou style. Meanwhile these BotW games look exactly like the source material and take place in the exact same environment we've been burned out on years ago.

I swear if we don't get a new, hotter version of Twinrova now the perfect opportunity for her as arrived I will never, EVER forgive Nintendo.

I wanted more plot focused ones, but they picked the dog shit BotW series to do it for. I wanted a Hyrule civil war before OoT where you play as bandit king Ganondorf and his amazonian harem warriors at his side fighting the different factions of the kingdom. Or how about the war before Skyward Sword with the OG Hero and fighting a demon army? Hell, HW could have been a bunch of different stories of wars hinted at or mentioned across the series featuring different characters, then you unlock a final crossover chapter at the end where they are pulled from across time by the sorceress cunt to find the ultimate warrior or some shit.

Sorry but normies only knew BotW now, it's like no Fire Emblem games before Awakening, except maybe Marth.

That would require money, effort, passion and creativity. All of which Nintendo don't like to put into their games anymore.

I can’t imagine them not repackaging BoTW for a third time, it’s a given. ToTK was such an incredibly pointless and lazy followup I would expect nothing less now.

I would not mind a 3rd go if it stars Zelda BUT, it has to take inspiration from the mechanics and gameplay of Echoes of Wisdom. That's literally the only thing that could draw me back unless they do something crazy like you go into space or something.

Calling it now. Next game will have the same map but this time you also get to travel to a Dark World version (either that or back to the past to Zonai/Anceint Sheikah times).

Yeah the maps were fun until you got to one of the repetitive and tediously long monster battles

Why do any of this when BotW slop takes much less effort and sells much more? Blame the consoomers. Nintendo would be actively damaging themselves to make anything Zelda related that isn't BotW centered.

The first HW is one of those games that would be amazing, but is completely ruined by it's leveling mechanics.
Is so easy to out-level missions (or even entire gamemodes) that all the challenge is removed. It makes the whole game feel monotonous and boring. If it just didn't have leveling mechanics it would improve the game tenfold.

The only good part of the game

Doesn't get featured in any of its overwhelmingly redundant sequels and spinoffs despite high versatility and unexplored parts of his narrative.

What did they mean by this?

How long does it take to 100% Calamity? I'm like 20 hours out from finishing DE.

What did they mean by this?

Too much degeneracy surround him.

Nintendo being Nintendo.
(I.E bastards that care more for their lofty image than their fans.)

The decision to make AoC 2 must have come purely from looking at sales figures and not a single ounce of discussion. I've never seen a single conversation about AoC anywhere that didn't amount to "I don't want hyrule warriors with characters from only one zelda game" everyone wants to play as fuckking groose and the postman and agatha and shit.

Gay bara furries ruining a character is nothing new for Nintendo particularly, what makes Kass so special?

Same. BotW was a nice change of pace and showed great promise. TotK was lazy-ass-SLOP with the worst world/story continuity of any Zelda game by a country mile. Most disappointing game I've played in a decade.

Hell, instead of trying to make Marvel Ultimate Alliance a pseudo-Musou, just go all out and make an unabashed Marvel Warriors that isn't having an identity crisis.

TotK is quite literally BotW but worse

At least there's like no fucking excitement for Age of Imprisoning. I think BotWverse fatigue is finally setting in, thank christ.

the third botw-clone will be a battle royale (with like 20 players maximum because it's nintendo)

a Koei designed Twinrova

My dick is already diamonds.

B-But you play as Zelda?

Ugly little faggot.
I shoot hate the Zonai and hope we never see them outside this iteration of Hyrule.

Zelda needs a reboot.. No Gorons. No Zoras. All new species.

That Link's Awakening asset flip last year killed that as a marketing point lmao

I like the Zelda races, personally.
(Except those ancient goat shits. Whatever they're called. They're ugly as fuck.)

I liked the Berserk musou game enough to get the permanent berserker armor costume unlock, and people call that a shitty musou game, will I like the hyrule warriors games which people consider to be upper tier musou games?

make big deal out of this faggot

can't be bothered to explain who he is

just throw in a costume for the "autistic enough to think 150 shrines is good content" crowd

Was making sure I could build a giant rolling, mechanical dildo that fucks Bokoblins to death worth everything else being so shit Aonuma?

The trailer says 'Coming This Winter!' at the end of it, imagine if THIS is their inevitable big holiday system seller instead of something revealed in the Summer. Nintendo truly would have completely lost their touch if that's the case.

Sir, that was Skyward Sword.

40~50 hours I'd say
+20~30 with DLC (though 10 of those are pure grind because of a single stupidly slow and unfun material to obtain)

Wind Waker tunic

I hope your parents were supportive of your coming out, anon

I think they might actually be stupid enough to be pushing Metroid Prime 4 as their big holiday game.

Skyward Sword is prequel

reaction images are made by the person who posted them

And I hope yours raised you good, despite the immense burden of you being fucking retarded

Marin is best character. I wonder why they choose her when Link's Awakening remake wasn't in the cards at that time.

Marin.png - 511x1032, 380.35K

Surprisingly short, as DE is like 500+ hours of grind. I may check it out, but was somewhat banking on getting a copy with the DLC included. It's possible they end up doing a Switch 2 edition or something.

HW was a blast to play through

Twice

AoC felt like a massive slog to get through

Why? I just don't get it.

Because when your DLC is all the portable Zelda games (except Capcom because fuck them), you can't ignore the first portable Zelda. And considering the huge nerds the HW staff was, they were not going to ignore it.

I remember rumors of LA Remake (albeit as a 3DS game) going back as far as 2017, so maybe the idea was brewing for a while. Only reason I give that rumor credence is because of how it correctly called that it'd be a remake of LA instead of a rehashquel like ALBW was.

Why not? Link’s Awakening is iconic, not every character had to be directly advertising something upcoming.

looks at Fire Emblem

Meanwhile it got only Lyn

Marth didn't even get first appearance alt costume

It's how you know the FEW guys were doing a job instead of making something they wanted.

except Capcom because fuck them

At least the mystical seeds appeared as food.

Was the lack of any Oracles and Minish Cap stuff a licensing issue?

Good. I refuse to get tricked twice

Yeah it's by Capcom

Thinking about it, I wonder if that's where Nintendo started pushing for musous to be more tie-in focused, with FEW being mostly a crossover promo for the 3DS games and then AoC-onwards just being outright single-game tie-ins.

Not "licensing" per se, so much as Omega Force clearly hasn't buried the hatchet after Capcom sued them.

All I wanted was Xenoblade Warriors, instead I get another fucking BoTW timeline spin off.

36b.png - 996x1080, 1.06M

Nope, it was SPITE issue. Koie Tecmo is still bitter with Capcom because the whole "minihgames during loading screen" lawsuit bullshit and because Capcom made those games, they refuse to touch them.

Starting to feel for you Xenobros with how much manpower Nintendo keeps hogging from Monolith to get their games in a playable state (especially making sure their shitty physics-toy Zelda games run at all on Nintendo hardware).

Minigames was Namco's patent. Capcom's suit was about expansion discs.

Still, is one of those bullshit patents that shouldn't be allowed to exists but Japan allow them for some fucking reason.

I liked Age of Calamity, but it did have a very serious flaw with its lack of mission variety. Too many just boiled down to killing whatever boss units there were on the map (sometimes with a time limit), capturing bases, defending them didn't matter in 99% of the missions.

I loved this game but the only 4 things I hated were:

-Campaign missions literally ALWAYS have something happen on the other side of the map you need to drop everything for and handle or else you get fucked.

-The menu is slow and has a delay between screens, which is dumb for the amount of micromanaging you need to use it for if you are actually positioning different heroes in different spots so everywhere is covered.

-The bosses. Seriously, shove your thumb in your ass and wait until you are allowed to use an item to expose a weak point is extremely boring. None of them are even difficult.

-Imp Midna kinda sucks to play and her lame big girl form is flat out far stronger across the board.

Not him but

cope

OP asked why these spinoffs went in a particular direction, what part of giving the most succinct possible answer to that is supposed to be cope?

This game ran great

Age of calamity ran like shit

Why

I wish HW had a real sequel with all the content of the first game and we also got Malon.

Malon Bows.png - 900x766, 851.55K

I guess the fact it was a port gave them more time to optimizate it well?

Umm just say you're a a racist sweetie

I played the fuck out of HW1, dropped AoC after story end, and have no interest in this whatsoever. HW1 not pretending it was canon made it do everything you can do with the idea.

Have Fire Emblem: Three Hopes as well but not touching until I get a Switch 2.

Not compatible with the ZeLink 5ever autism we now live with.

tfw no Malon and Hero's Shade Musou interactions

hopedeleted.gif - 200x113, 43.51K

Same, Pyra and Mythra are peak dress up material and so need all the costumes.

tfw no Malon and Hero's Shade Musou interactions

Fuck, you made me mad.

musou attack is drowning the enemies with horses

AoC has an even shorter draw distance, constant pop ins

Nintendo is retarded these days

we just want to hack and slash as our favorite Zelda character

Okay, then why aren't you just doing that and disregarding the non-canon, fanfic-tier story just like everyone else does? I don't understand the point of this thread. The story is there because it just kind of needs to be, but you don't have to pay attention to it if you don't want to, and I would imagine that most people didn't

postan best song

youtu.be/KxUuFvDxlic?t=169

more games should use male opera singers in their soundtrack, it adds a great level of grandiosity to the action

Can we get an OC that is a nanomachine colony as a homage to Emerada in Xenogears?

Age of Calamity was the best selling Musou game ever. Obviously they'd try that again over a standard Hyrule Warriors, unfortunately.

Koume and Kotake appear in flashbacks too even though they don't really do anything (Two Gerudo women with masks and the same greenish skin color as Ganondorf, they have their name written on Hylian script on sashes around their chest).

He's the Hero that defeats Calamity Ganon alongside Sheikah tools. It shouldn't be from around the time Zelda went to.

The trick is there is no one Best Song in Hyrule Warriors. MASA was firing on all cylinders.

Why is the worst form of Zelda the most high selling?

Read the Twlight Princess manga, it has the best characterization of all the zelda media.

Age of Calamity completely changed the gameplay to give more emphasis to the story, making tho whole battlefield control aspect pointless since they wanted linear progression through the stages.

There's also how it basically means only BotW/ToTK relevant characters.

Because they're not Zelda games, they're normiecore-pandering open world sandbox games but with the Zelda label slapped on them.

So they're Zelda games

Bro just outlevel it

This stops working after the master quest map. To "outlevel" something you'd need to spend a ridiculous amount of time in one of the rack up KO count missions with exp potions and even then if you don't have the appropriate upper tier weapons you are in for a bad time.
Sometimes you get to bring a 2nd character, other times you have to still rawdog it.

They're... really not, though.

That's only in the original Wii U version. Both the 3ds and Switch versions lowered levels of later maps and made getting higher levels much easier.

zelda fans are fucking retarded and dont know what they want. they make a big deal about the lore and shit which would be fine if they didn't piss themselves and cry whenever you bring up something that isn't mainline and just as explicit in the japanese script. then aonuma lost his mind ruining the franchise with botw and wanted a big epic saga or whatever so they threw together age of calamity but nobody gave a shit because ohhhh its irrelevant but i guess normgroids fucking love their nu-zelda slop and cant get enough of jacking off to nu-link so enough of them bought age of calamity and now we're putting up with even more of this shit that should've ended half a decade ago

is this pasta?

Nevermind that like all Musous, even HW has a hard cap on just how much damage you can inflict regardless of level. Enemies scale up with you, after all.

I only initially got excited at Age of Calamity because it's a war they lose until they pulled the time travel plot device.

Phantom Ganon can suck my cock what a terrible boss. He's somehow even worse than manhandla.

He's easy bro. Tennis the first half, then get close and toss bombs at his back in the second. Hitbox jank means the bombs will make him enter downed state in one volley.

HW AoC is literally the best selling musou ever, making a TOTK prequel is literally the smartest play by any metric.

They doubled down on it because HW already exhausted its own premise and the only Zelda games that could be used for addition since then are BOTW, TOTK and Echoes of Wisdom

looking at musou sales kinda stuns me, it's a relatively obscure genre which is weird given how easily accessible and mindlessly fun it is, you'd think normalfags would love it

I didn't even make story end. I got to the point where you can unlock the Shrine Monk and Great Fairy (because holy shit we have no characters we can put in this game) and got bored and put it down. And I 100% DE, after already buying the game twice on Wii U and 3DS.

yeah bro when we're done with Madden let's play this game about the fucking sengoku era/three kingdoms period

Hell yeah brother get me some of that Dong Zhuo comeuppance

when i saw how bad the demo for age of calamity ran i didn't even bother, how does it run so fucking bad when it looks like total shit compared to DE

you act like history is a huge part about it and you aren't basically a slant eyed superhero karate kicking 500 people at once

BotW's character/item models are fairly high-poly for Switch standards (plus they use multiple UV map channels for texture materials), and I suspect that little was done to optimize them for AoC.

ootsnoys need to stop complaining about botw already, you LOST

shit b8

we’re complaining about the shitty musou spinoff and totk doe

First Hyrule Warriors is the best Musou they ever did.
Not immediately kicking Aonuma out head first when he got the retarded Breath of the Wild idea after the tepid Skyward Sword, and enabling a decade of Botwtotk Calamity sloppery over four fucking games is such a tragedy it's unreal.

The Minecraft Movie sold a lot of tickets.

lmfao fucking hack Aonuma and the retards he hired to expand on his gay fanfic really thought they were cooking with this shit frfr on desu.

I loved playing as Rhoam. He was absolutely right about his useless daughter that better served as the hero's breeding sow too.

Rhoam was peak fun.

For me it's slate Zelda, but Rhoam wasn't far behind.

I liked the mission where you had to alternate between two completely separate paths, one which had Rhoam and the other Zelda. It was pretty hard considering by that point I hadn't gotten the chance to really upgrade Rhoam or properly outfit him to deal with most of the enemies on his side.

i dont care, im just a furry

The Switch version of Hyrule Warriors 1 runs at 60fps, right?

Like, I know it can't hold 60fps, but that's the maximum framerate, right?

If so, then it should likely run at a stable 60fps on Switch 2 or something closer to it even if it doesn't get a dedicated Switch 2 edition release, right?

Alternatively, how well does it run on dolphin?

dolphin

the switch version

dolphin

I've never had a single framedrop on Citron.

Going off the top of my head,

Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)

Targets 30, averages low 20s

Hyrule Warriors Legends (New 3DS)

Targets 30, averages high 20s, but loads far less enemies at once than the Wii U version

HWDE (Switch)

Targets 60, averages 40s

Age of Calamity

Targets 30, can dip to 10s

All of them consistently run max speed at 4k or higher in emulator

Maybe some time in the next decade they'll move on from it.

I can't think of any franchises that sold out to the open world fad and then came back to making real games again. If anything, Nintendo's going in the opposite direction and whoring everything else out to the open world fad now, even fucking Mario Kart.

The funniest thing to me is that Nintendo didn't want to lose sales on Legends so they let it run on even regular model 3DS and it's the saddest thing you've ever seen. The Lil' Brudder of Musou games.

Pure unga character and I love it.

Legends can make it in it's own!
