Agree. Even if it wasn't labelled Final Fantasy it's still a shit action game. The story was decent enough and I liked the main characters but almost everything about the game is boring as fuck. Whoever designed the UI and how slow accepting/turning in quests is should be shot in the asshole
I thought about buying this as I saw the edition with all the dlc is on sale for 50 euro on psn but it will probably be added to psn plus in 2 or 3 months so I'll just wait for that.
This game is mad boring, but the boss fights are peak in terms of pure spectacle. Wish an actually good game had bosses like the ones in ff16

This honestly may be the worst game I've ever played. It's polished and clearly competent people worked on many parts of it, but it's just so unbelievable dull in every respect despite that, even the very best things about it are just lesser versions of things you can get elsewhere and the shallowness of it all is insulting. The sidequests are also so absent of even the slightest bit of imagination it's almost impressive.

As disappointing as this game was, I still look back on certain parts fondly. The game should have stuck with the Game of Thrones shit throughout. Once Ultima shows up its almost all down hill form there. Barnabas could've been a much better final villain with a bigger focus on Waloed as a whole.

FF should never be dull. Dullness is the worst sin for FF. This is why FF16 is even worse than FF13.
Its a solid 7/10, but it could've been so much better. The first third of the game is really good.
I love leitmotifs, but he unironically overused some, particularly the FF main theme. If he had saved it to only be used when you're about to head to Origin, it would have been kino, but you've already heard it several times by then, he even incorporated it into the resistance base theme that you hear constantly.

Soken liberal use of it is why the themes sticks to your head and subconsciously draws emotions associated with said themes, I can understand why it might feel cheap but treating video game OST like an Opera works fantastically, his years of working in 14 taught him as much.
Completely agree. It’s pretty interesting when it’s Game of Thrones with some Attack on Titan thrown in, but boy does it tank when not only when it becomes another “Kill God” plot, but a particularly dull version of that.
