Not a single remake is better than the original.
Not a single remake is better than the original
Starcraft Remastered.
Remasters =/= Remakes
The Thing 1982
now some retards come in and say ACKSHUALLY muh REmake and Zero Mission
god this board is so fucking predictable and boring
Sure, if you pretend REmake and Metroid Zero Mission don't exist.
Wrong board
Pokemon HeartGold.
REmake
bERSERK reached its absolute peak at the troll arc; the art, composition, everything was at its best there.
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir would like to have a word with you.
Metal Slug X
Fuck no. Everything after Lost Children is fucking shit. Giving Guts a JRPG party was retarded.
Remaster plus, not remake.
And (You)'re trapped here forever.
Klonoa Wii remake is better than the original
Fuck no. Everything after Lost Children
holy contrarianism, that's the highbrow hipster opinion
Metroid: Zero Mission
Tons of official media, unofficial media, and public discourse call it a remake so I don't know what your basis is here
Remake = They at least remade all the assets, which isn't the case here.
But it goes further than most remasters because they actually changed game mechanics, thus remaster "plus".
Ocarina of Time 3D
Bionic Commando Rearmed
CTR Nitro Fueled
Persona 1/2
Spyro the Dragon
These are as good, if not better. The Pikmin games benefitted greatly on the Wii, but I'm not sure I'd count those.
Schierke sex.
I haven't kept up with Berserk after Miura died, I assume the new shit is just that, shit.
RE1.
:D
I feel like it’s two completely different games since the tonal shift is so great between the two
Correct
Zero Mission
You're right. I regret that I kept reading.
So much better it makes the originals completely redundant.
That is one of the most common opinions.
It was a running joke at one point
Golden Age was PEAK.
Conviction arc was good as well, but it kind of slowly start to descend after that.
Leifthrasir is better than the original.
Puck turned into such a flanderized meme that Miura literally completely fucking forgot that he had an elf character already, then introduced Ivalera who basically does everything Puck was supposed to be doing for 100 chapters
For me? It's the Lost inside a Child arc.
YABBA DABBA DOOOOOOOOOOOO GUTSUUUUUUUUU
Like getting lost inside a pringles can bruv there's only so much space to go.
Lol no, it was peak berserk and black swordsman arc. Once he got Caska out of the Conan soup orgy pagan party it was going south for him and the readers. What were your favorite chapters? Meeting the witch, fighting the trolls for a village, riding on the back of zodd, dealing with Indian demons, or the years on the pirates of the Caribbean ride? Aside from the berserker armor and the suppression of his curse, there was no real payoff when the dude still had a rage boner for Griffith while the squad wanted to go to fairyland. I waited years for the fucking boat ride to end. It never paid off anyways since miura died shortly after. WAS IT WORTH IT MIURA?
The creator looked up to other Manga artists that have spent their entire lives on stories that should have ended already, so he followed suite. I still love this retarded series even though I stopped reading when they landed on that God forsaken island. The art quality went poor after the story was already suffering.
Golden age was and will always be the best era. That betrayal could never be topped after all that build up. The blackswordsman was the 2nd half of the story that should have ended them both. Miura already had the ending in the very first volumes. Let guts go on an apostle hunt for all the brethren he lost, and then most of the godhand until femto for the reverse rape.
But that is correct, which is why someone is going to say it.
Schierke Schierke
EATING HONEY?
I actually stood up, clapped three times, spun in place and posed while yelling "KINO" at the top of my lungs
AoE2 DE
nah, it looks like fucking Street Figther 2 HD. Like they updated the sprites to be crisp but didn't update the animations to be smoother and the environment to be more detailed similarly to the new sprites and in the end the visuals just look less coherent than the original looked like.
also most of the portraits are staright up downgrade
the only real improvement in it is that you can set hotkeys in it and ofc widescreen
sc remastered is actually a remake from scratch
Therappy
Lost Children was best arc; it had Guts at his purest. Fuck all who think otherwise.
It had the best art, but Lost Children had the best story
I really peaked at Butterchalk's Schierke pics, if you catch my drift.
Star Ocean the Second Story has a remake for PC and stuff that's really good. Better than the original. And I've beaten the original at least 10 times.
her areolas are not big enough
Golden Age-Mount and Blade Warband
Conviction, FotME- JRPG game, EU4( Griffith Chapters)
Dunno about Fantasia and Black Swordsman.
Also fuck you I liked the party. You can only make Guts struggle while at his wits end so much until it starts to lose it's punch. The party brings something else besides the usual barbarity and grimness.
La-Mulana.
Miura's armor and soldier groups drawings are fucking excellent. He drew them so fucking well
I was drinking about a week ago and something made me want to hear Gut's Theme. I was sad the second i heard the first note.
I have no idea why I did that to myself.
Sure bud. Post the thumbstick video.
If I like Berserk, should I watch Escaflowne, G Reco, Brain Powerd or Patlabor?
Man years ago an anon went through all the stuff ReRE1 removed/altered and why he hated it. Wish I had screenshoted it.
Don't get a into the habit of playing sad sounding stuff when you are down. It makes it ten times worse.
there's a chart that gets posted every once in a while, it's mostly dialogue choices
Thats the thing, i was having a great night playing vidya until that point, but it was late and i wanted to play slower songs sleepier songs. It had been a long time since i heard it, but what a horrible choice - its a great song and i love the 97 anime but now I will always associate it with the Miura death sticky thread, which was one of the worst mornings i can remember in a long time
My thought is that the remake is a little too easy. It basically turns into a combo exhibition without enemies really able to do anything if you ever played a DMC game or anything. But the level design and platforming is objectively better in the remake for sure. The original's gameplay you have to really manage your stamina, spacing, and combos while fighting some overwhelming odds while trying to get the best rating. It feels more challenging and rewarding to me. But what makes Leifthrasir so good is that it includes the original game, and you can enable quality of life settings (like better menus and alchemy), so basically you get the best of both worlds.
Rebirth is better than Binding of Isaac flash.
Spelunky HD is better than the original Spelunky.
FF7 Remake actually made the gameplay fun and not a VN menu simulator.
I remember it had something with lock picking. Some scenarios, some triggers, map routing. And then complaining about some of the extras that were added due to the Expanded Lore. He made a convincing argument as to why, even if it's a great game, it wasn't a good remake. I always post about it in these threads, hoping he comes back and answer me.
The MediEvil remake is 1:1 with the original game with the exception of small but well-needed QoL adjustments.
And when you beat it you unlock the entire original version of the game
Trials of Mana
But the level design and platforming is objectively better in the remake
It's like 99% the same.
Ninja Saviors
Yea this killed the series for me, the dog armor was pretty cool but come on, the loli ruins the mood.
