What is the most expensive video game you own?
What is the most expensive video game you own?
I had two physical copies of persona 3 fes on ps2 until my house got broken into and they took one of them
Magic Knight Rayearth
Rules of Rose on PS2, but I'm not a fag who keeps games in protective boxes like OP. I play what I buy.
apparently people pay weirdly high amounts for boxed copies of solatorobo? have mine put away somewhere
Not sure. I read that some of my games were worth something, but honestly that seems to jump all over the place.
Final Fantasy Tactics used to be valuable, but that seemed to go away.
Pocky & Rocky 2
Kuon
I probably have something more, but these come to mind.
This.
probably fe path of radiance
All four of the PS2 .Hack games. Got the booklets and the movies too in there.
Literally any Switch 2 game.
Pokemon Emerald, Pokemon Platinum, and Gravity Rush Remastered for PS4
if I didn't already own them from before I would never pay current prices. shits fucked
I once bought a graded venusaur promo card for 150-200 bucks and broke open the stupid plastic case to get my card into a normal toploader. Fuck those stupid cases I dont give a fuck about some fake company saying a number. If you grade a game you are a gay nigger. Games should be played not kept in a sealed container.
Elemental Gearbolt and Rule of Rose are the two that come to mind. I bought both when I thought there were expensive, like $80 to $100, and look at the prices now.
Oh yeah I got these too, this is me
God Hand, was shocked to see that one
Seaman
Dreamcast MVC2
Dunno. I have Japanese copies of Xenogears and FFT, so probably those.
Saw that in the window of a second hand games shop a few years ago, but didn't want to go in and be the guy that dropped obscene currency on the psychosexual Mean Girls horror game for a console he doesn't own.
Based burglar, stealing a fun game but leaving you with a copy and not being a cunt about it.
rule of rose
Disappointing, honestly the first 5 mins of the game is the best part where you think your gonna explore a spooky orphanage, rest is meh.
sealed Majoras Mask or sealed OoT probably
Rules of Rose
Can I see it?
or sealed oracle games? idk i never check prices
Pokemon Platinum if I had to guess.
Have the game, original case and manual all in amazing condition.
Idk. I play games. Its not a commodity to me.
Those are like $20 each lol
Keio Flying Squadron on the Mega CD or Soul Silver with the Poke Walker and pre-order Lugia figure
Sealed starcraft 64
Bloodborne the board game all-in pledge.
Frequently goes for around $1,000
BattleLore 2e
Frequently goes for around $500
Gears of War board game
Frequently goes for around $200
Have a few out of print TTRPG books that go for around $500 to $1000
In terms of vidya? I don't have anything rare. The rare tabletop shit I have wasn't some rare things when I bought it, it was just never reprinted, licenses have been lost, and other shit that happened to make them rare.
Japanese games aren't worth much because Japanese don't really care about vintage collecting, and western collectors only care about intl releases.
Probably this one.
Bloody Roar for the og Xbox, and PS4 MvC3 for some reason
Well, whatever.
Probably still the rarest vidya I have.
I bought an unopened copy of Clayfighter Sculptors Cut from a garage sale of a guy that worked at blockbuster when I was a kid along with a bunch of other games.
I gave it to one of my friends that was poor and still had an N64 when I got a PS2.
Fair enough. I just like having them: they're a nice little cultural keepsake.
I dont know if its rare, but I remember I got this for $15 from a game store, then a few years later its a couple hundred dollars. Im not sure if some angry game retard did a review on it.
Probably sealed copy of God Hand. It has that original sticker and shit. I paid 200$ for it long time ago. I also have Predator Concrete Jungle also sealed. I dont have much physical games I just buy games I really really like to have physically.
I own TP, Four Swords, and the zelda collection for GC which should be worth something.
I've seen copies of pokemon Ruby/Sapphire go for 80-100$ at local stores.
It's really dumb how inflated the costs for these old games are.
If it's sealed or locked inside an acrylic tomb it doesn't count as a game
Panzer Dragoon Saga + a few imports
Cotton Boomerang
Radiant Silvergun
Alien Soldier
i honestly don't know, i know Go Go Hypergrind is pretty pricey but i also got factory sealed copies of both back to the future nes games too.
don't feel like taking a new picture so have some i took in 2012
I got some "not for retail" games that I'm the only known owner of, that are probably worth a good amount (they're dumped). In terms of retail games with known values, Chibi-Robo. I only bought it a few years ago and the price has already doubled. Gamecubeniggas have gone insane.
He also took my ps2 and THUG 2 right after I beat it…craziest part was this happened LAST YEAR
Oh. Well, that's less whimsical.
Sounds like that fag Eric Sparrow was fiending for some crack and needed an easy score.
Community Note: OP is known to teleport into people's houses
clown market
diablo 4
I have Spyro 1, 2, and 3, and the Collector's Edition for Spyro.
If memory serves me right, there was a bug in Spyro 2 that would cause your save file to softlock and the Collector's Edition fixed the bug. My family bought the Collector's Edition but I never ran into the bug so I've never played the discs.
Keio Flying Squadron
Based beyond belief
hint
It's in this picture.
I don't know. Probably either Earthbound, Haunting Ground, Tron Bonne... not really sure, I got most of them when they were still relevant (Earthbound when it came out, Tron Bonne when it was on clearance). Pic related. I didn't have my whole collection up yet, but that's most of it.
Let's see
I had a copy of The Guy Game laying around my house somewhere.
It was a You Don't Know Jack clone that featured IRL video of a bunch of dumb bitches in spring break playing the game alongside you for real cash. They each get topless at some point and if your score is high enough you get to see real titties swinging about.
What made it rare was the company that made it got sued for lying about what the IRL gameshow video was for AND one of the contestants lied about their age (turns out the were 16) making the game technically child porn so it was collected, destroyed, and isn't allowed to be legally owned or resold anywhere.
Kek. I have this one CIB. Worth $1000 easily.
i haven't used this thing since 2019 so it is missing a lot of games but using this and it's auto price charting values it said this
I have a sealed cardboard Earthworm Jim for Genesis. And I have a Sealed late ToysRUs release of Super Mario Kart.
For just rarity? I'm not sure I know my Lost Eden for 3DO was worth a good bit for a while. I bought a lot of imports over the past twenty years so some of them have gone up a lot in value like my complete in box Contra for Famicom.
I don't have any sealed games but I have sealed Mario from Mario Kart 64 toy.
Which website is this?
This
it's "ok" i stopped using it because they charge for updates.
Damn! That is a stacked collection. I'd like to see some of your heavy fitters from the top 5 consoles.
How do you have nothing but PS2 loose?
i had a flood in 2019 and forgot about my ps2 games, luckily it was all thrift store purchases but yeah.
Do you NEED to play a physical copy of Air Raid, anon?
Not true anymore unfortunately. Also there have always been expensive Japanese games. They're just different than what's expensive in America.
I love that game. Not sure if I still have two copies of it or not. I've always loved Chibi Robo.
Oh man. I'm sorry, bro.
Nothing crazy, but the pricing for this Gamera 2000 on ebay is all over the place.

this entirely based on pricecharting values.
A brand new factory sealed first print copy (with the wireless adapter) of Pokémon FireRed Version for GameBoy Advance in mint condition.
(pic related is not mine)
Nope, which is why I don't own one.
Nice! That is a solid list. R-Type and Sonic Blast Man II are on my list to get.
Cybernator CIB
I didn't know this was worth much. I've still got it, the only other snes cart I bothered to keep was Secret of Mana and it's in pristine condition, was worth a couple of hundred last time i checked.
it used to not be, i bought it from a brick and mortar game store about 20 years ago for $1
Well I don't own one either since there's very few Atari 2600 games I'd care enough to collect. I am rather fond of my CIB H.E.R.O. though.
20 years ago for $1
Nice, it's a good game too, I always enjoyed the sense of scale it had with the tiny people running about.
Wait until you see a Metal Warriors CIB...
My most expensive CIB is either Super Mario World, R-Type III, Super Turrican 2, Space Megaforce or Chrono Trigger. All heavily jump around based on condition.
That's really, really fucking cool, anon.
i used to hit garage sales and thrift stores hard about 10-20 years ago. some of the things i found was hilarious sometimes. i got a minty CIB copy of ALF for the sega master system and as far as i know the only game that sitcom got
an emerald with a box stored somewhere around probably
in terms of rarity some jp goemon games and PN:3, there might be a few others I'm forgetting about
Not super super rare or anything but I bought all 3 US Xenosaga games complete in box (opened) for like $120 maybe 5 years ago? Was actually slightly annoyed because I already had 2 copies of episode one that I condensed into a CIB state right before that.
Episode 3 alone goes for over $120 sometimes now from what I've seen.
I also have the "special edition movie" for episode one on DVD somewhere around here.
That in a Mandarake?
Rule of Rose,
Haunting Ground
Parasite Eve 2
FFVII
All unopened, perfect condition arguably 300-400 dollars per game.
Yea, it's one of the better Atari Box Arts for sure. I played the same game a lot on my Commodore 64.
That's not a picture of mine. Mine is in really good shape too. No shrink wrap. I'm pretty sure my cartridge actually looks better than that one does. It's possible it has a receipt with it too, but I don't remember. This area is pretty good for finding games with their original receipts. Somewhere I have an old polaroid of someone beating Top Gun for NES that was kept with the game for all these years.
That's the game with the pervert in it chasing Alf into caves, right?
probably? been a long time since i played it, the game is really bad. it is amusing at least for the $5 i spent. you use a sausage as a weapon if i recall.
as far as i know the only game that sitcom got
Negative.
ah, that is why, i wasn't looking for home computer releases.
Pokemon Heart Gold with box and pokewalker
I hope whichever jewish kike nigger introduced videogames to the art speculation market and scalpers has their skin slowly peeled from their body.
When did this shit even start, I remember physical copies being cheap as fuck up until about 2012/2013
Yeah that would be around the time. I think it was 2014 or 2015 when I bought Pokemon Red, opened but boxed, all paper stuff EXCEPT the cardboard piece that holds the game, for roughly $10 at a second hand store. After that I never saw retro shit cheap again. I'm hoping for a second great depression or something comes along and people stop giving a shit about video games enough for prices to come down and I can eventually get some of the ones I still want to play at reasonable prices.
You're an idiot. It's called antiques and collectibles and they've always had a market. Used to be Art, Tin Toys, Then Comic Books and Beanie Babies.
I own a sealed copy of this.
Only 1000 were made and the buy/shipping on the was an absolute fucking mess. Most copies got damaged or cancelled.
Last time I checked it was valued at over $1000
I wonder who the guy was that introduced paintings to the art speculation market?
Probably some millionaire from the 19th century.
actually there's been a few news reports that some art speculators specifically muscled their way into the physical game space and started hiking up the prices while hoarding games, there's also those private collector cabals that tried to buy a hitman to kill a guy who sunk their market they were building but got caught because they were retards
Pokemon Gale of Darkness goes for like, $300 nowadays, so that. I could probably make a top 5 most expensive Gamecube games I own, and the whole thing would be games worth $100 or more.
The good news is that there are almost 0 physical games worth owning.
Most have been dumped online.
I don't need more shit sitting around my house, I just want to game.
private collector cabals that tried to buy a hitman to kill a guy who sunk their market they were building but got caught because they were retards
I'm sorry but I'm going to need more info on this it sounds hilarious.
Sealed copy of Path of Radiance.
I don't have it for collectors reasons. I was gifted two copies when it came out, and just sorta never got around to returning or selling the extra copy.
When I went to college, I put all my games in boxes. Those boxes have followed me around since.
I had totally forgotten I had it until a few years ago. And now I feel weird about selling it. Like it feels kinda wrong to do it?
Even if you don't like emulation you can just slap an entire system's library on a drive or cart and run them on OG hardware easily.
There's almost no reason to own physical games these days unless you're not really in to playing them just collecting shiny shit like a low IQ monkey.
Same
I still like owning original hardware just because of nostalgia, even they are going through the roof. i've been pretty lucky and bought physical shit for cheap from garage sales at least
You're talking about entombed in plastic original run Super Mario Bros. that's supposedly worth 100's of thousands of dollars.
That's not shit that's being sold in used game stores or sitting on our shelves. Most of our really expensive stuff is still limited to a couple hundred dollars.
I doubt even my sealed ToyRUs Super Mario Kart is worth more than $500.
a ff3(6) cartridge maybe
ive also got original fft, ff7, xenogears, lunar sss, parasite eve, disgaea, ff9
ive also got mint condition strategy guides for most of these
resellers are trying to hike the price of second hand gameboy colors and GBAs into the hundreds or thousands, its only going to get worse as more people get sold on the beanie baby dream by retards on youtube
Bomberman 64 The Second Attack I think.
resellers are trying
They're always trying, anon. That's not related to insider trading like you were talking about.
These games are all like $200 loose
I should really hunt down everything in my collection and repack them.
I should have worded it differently, they are succeeding, not just trying. it could be worse though, comics and cards are already a lost cause
Little Samson, only cartridge though
tfw still have Colosseum/Gale of Darkness CIB after all these years
Someone at Nintendo definitely knows about how fucked Gamecube prices are, considering them, PoR and Chibi-Robo are among the first few games being added to switch online's GCN Library.
either complete in box pokemon emerald, or pokemon heart gold with the pokewalker. There are two other games but I haven't checked to see what they're worth for a long time and I decided to check and looks like they're worth less now but it was uncharted waters and romance of the three kingdoms 2 on nes
I bought it at a GameStop brand new back in the day for $10. Never knew it would become rare, never really cared. It just sits in my PS2 sleeves now.
I forgot that I own a made in HongKong Vectrex. So it and my small collection of 3 CIB games is worth quite a bit. I got Scramble, Solar Quest, and Cosmic Chasm.
Prices of Vectrex consoles are all over the place.
Very nice anon
Which girl is it?
I own a personalized copy of Super Mario 64
Forgot pic
the emulation is shit and the resale price for the original versions skyrockets even higher, like Pokemon Platinum when BDSP came out
fug
I have a few cases of loose PC games because I was able to buy loose PC game CD's for extremely cheap for a while.
LMAO when that turns out to be true. More exposure. More demand. Youtubers on Steroids!
I still have all the cases for the games, they're just packed away in totes a closet. Easier to store the discs for easy access in sleeves imo.
surugaya
Probably Melee, I got it for Christmas when it launched so it’s not player’s choice. Maybe Chibi-Robo.
I got an open copy of FF6 with the box and all the manuals and shit with the clock pass number written on the outside of the cartridge in permanent marker. That's worth a couple of bucks.
Raw Danger
Forbidden Siren 2
Project Zero II
Persona 3 FES
Michigan: Report from Hell
I pity future collectors. It feels like yesterday they were selling SMT games for a pittance.
Covid make normies do this
Just this really, all my cool childhood stuff is long perished or stolen.
towelhead at customs getting ready to carve this bitch open with a pair of hedge clippers
I bought this in hopes that it would be worth something someday. Is it yet...?
ok now that I think about it, the ten most expensive games I own would be:
Pokemon Heartgold (lost the Pokewalker, otherwise it'd be CIB)
Pokemon Gale of Darkness (CIB)
Pokemon Emerald (loose)
Pokemon White 2 (CIB)
Pokemon Platinum (lost the manual)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky (CIB)
Pokemon Colosseum (CIB)
Pokemon Leafgreen (loose)
Pokemon White (CIB)
Resident Evil 2 (Gamecube, Complete)
I have a bunch of retro games, but only three are worth anything:
Pokemon Emerald
EVO Search For Eden
Lufia II
Nothing else worth more than sixty bucks.
Those are fake dollars, anon.
fatal frame also
Very nice anon
this rare gem
Thanks anon. 2 and 3 are hiding in there somewhere as well. Good series
