Everything

We can fix it

unity.webm - 1280x720, 3.06M

Ruined the engine to the point where its a pain to mod
Any new Elder Scrolls on the newer codebase is going to be hot dogshit

Spent the entire budget on buying reviews it seems

You go to the unity, again

You expect to run into yourself, again

The figure slowly turns around revealing hes an anthropomorphic wolf

My reaction

I never thought the game could get worse

The crafting economy was a fucking mess

every one of those reviews was paid for by the government of india

Too many "don't worry modders will fix it anyway" moments during development, like how Bethesda genuinely believed modders would fill the planets with new radiant locations on day 1 and didn't expect players to complain about seeing the exact same handful of outposts in every planet (sometimes on the same planet).

Emil is a moron who failed to realize that his shitty writing was only acceptable previously because (in fallout/elderscrolls) they stuck it on top of a mountain of much better lore written by people who actually cared. Put that shit all on it's own and you have a very bland and boring game.

abandoned cryo facility filled with bandits

Bugthesda thought the 20% work effort was going to lead to success again. They underestimated how long a decade of stagnation deteriorated a fan base.People who were playing skyrim at 30 is 40...

20% work effort

They didn't even put in that much effort.

I hope they dont think zoomers mod games lmao
and if they do its porn 90% of the time

They forgot to make a good game.

What didn't?

Fallout 4 was very meh but for what it lacked in its story, rpg elements and other stuff it made up for with the new tech, better animations, better combat and so the modding community from Skyrim kind of bridged its way over.
Unfortunately, the same thing didn't happen for Starfield because Starfield didn't have skyrim to bankroll it like Fallout did, hell I personally thought all the gun modders from Fallout 4 would move over to Starfield but I guess not, which is bizarre considering how similar the games are.

Space opera is a romantic genre, but postmodernists can't comprehend romanticism so it's soulless

Its manly because space is fake

I don't know about that, there seems to be so much of it between your ears

It's boring. Everything interesting is whole ass commutes across barren territory and multiple loading screens apart from each other.
Yes Fallout 4 had the opposite problem where you couldn't go 10 feet without finding some new thing but at least you're actually experiencing something.
Most life sim games are either like Harvest Moon where the game has an extremely accelerated and abstracted schedule where plants and trees grow in days, or Animal Crossing where the game takes place in real time, but the game only expects you to do 10-15 minutes every few days.
Starfield is combining the worst aspects of both, it's a sim without the satisfaction and its abstraction without the fun juicy parts. And it's frustrating because there is something of a fun game in there, what could've been a third pillar to the Fallout and Skyrim series. Instead it's probably poisoned any hope of Bethesda doing anything besides Skyrim 2 and Fallout 5.

Whats annoying is the formula is already out here
Just make starsector 3D or starlancer Boom wow so hard to figure out the space genre wooo

you sure you want a piece of this, Dreamboy?

thgc.jpg - 1054x1180, 103.58K

fewer and fewer people trust paid reviews these days
everyone is moving over to youtubers for game reviews

Well they fucked up the game engine so badly that modder literally can't fix it

genuinely what the fuck were they thinking when they designed this core gameplay loop.
I genuinely had fun playing the game when I was doing some of the side questlines and I'm painfully aware of the fact Bethesda main story quests are usually garbage compared to the side quests...
but holy fuck it was next-level bad -- actual dogshit

The gameplay was typical Bethesda but everything else was worse than decade old TES or Fallout games.

YOULL BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE CRIMINAL SCUM

Fallout 4 survived becuase Fallout was already a beloved franchise with a bunch of lore and world building, then it survived long enough for mods to fix the games other flaws like RPG elements.

Everyone agrees Bethesda games have bad gameplay, they stick around for the World to explore. Starfield had no worlds worth exploring despite having hundreds.

Bethesda's formula was on shaky ground already. It got by because they don't make that many games and very few devs even try to do what they do, but not much has changed since FO4 and SF's procgen disincentivizes players from exploring the world. All you're left with is bad gameplay, weak RPG mechanics and awful stroytelling.

The gameplay wasn't even typical Bethesda. The game feels very linear and the loot system is extremely poor and boring for a Bethesda game.

Didn't modders say this game was so shit at a fundamental core that it couldn't be fix and that's why it's barely been modded?

Yea bugthesda forgot all the games they made were already created by another team of devs first.Like all frauds they got exposed trying to make something new themselves

The formula is fine, just nobody works there anymore

It was soulless and boring. I have 60 hours in the game and the only thing I remember doing was trying to set up a base and trading network. I think this is the first Bethesda game where I legitimately can't remember a single NPC name.

haha this nepo retard meme marketing man is a chad for dumbing down beloved game

This meme is so tiring, Bethesda shill. Please don't tell me you do this for free

Soulless and sterile. It's honestly incredible Todd was thinking up this game for 20 years and never once came up with or copied a slightly interesting idea. Seriously I have to wonder if other series beat him to the punch on certain things and he took them out of Starfield out of fear of being called a copycat. I pray Fallout 5 and TES6 aren't this soulless.

Microsoft's policy of "make everything really inclusive and gay, but don't do anything else that could possibly upset anyone" is really apparent, but the biggest issue is the game basically isn't even finished, so all the mechanics feel half baked and slapped together. It seriously feels like early access yet they've barely updated or added shit.
