Namine's deal is that she's Kairi's Nobody, but Kairi is a Princess of Heart and can thus NEVER fall to darkness. So when Kairi lost her heart her body on Destiny Islands she fell into a deep slumber instead of mutate into a Nobody. Kairi's heart found refuge within Sora's body, the heartslut that he is. Later, to release Kairi's heart from his body, Sora willingly allowed darkness to consume his own heart, releasing it with the Keyblade of People's Hearts. He became a Heartless, but succeeded in releasing Kairi's heart too. The process of "a person losing their heart and becoming a Nobody" was thus repeated twice, one for "Sora" and one for "Kairi, released from Sora".

As such Namine was born as a unique existence, based off Kairi's heart but Sora's body and darkness. That's why she can affect Sora's memory, and the memory of people connected to Sora. She's less Kairi's Nobody and more Sora and Kairi's daughter.

The Master knew that the Darknesses needed a human host, for if they stayed as spirits in the open for too long they'd dissipate and die for good. Alternatively, if they get stuck in a human host and that host dies, they'll also die with the host. So he began to plan. He orchestrated the Keyblade War and manipulated his disciples into performing ill-suited roles that would frustrate and anger them, setting them on the path of betrayal and mutual destruction, all to darken their hearts and make them more appealing hosts for the Darknesses. And it worked, 6 Darknesses hid within his disciples' hearts, and one in his own.

Of the remaining 6, one hid within Ventus because it saw the Master write in the Book of Prophecies that this would happen. The Darknesses operate on odd logic. The remaining 5 were drawn into data worlds, designed to imprison them forever. One of these 5 managed to escape to the real world, and the remaining 4 were permanently sealed away within an enclosed space to fade and die, at the cost of a nameless hero's life.

So now the Master has to continue his plans to KILL DARKNESS. All in a world where darkness itself is a foreign concept.

The Darkness within his heart heard his two wishes, "I wish I had friends", and "I wish I was strong" and decided to fulfill both in one fell swoop: it tracked down one of the children chosen to become new leaders and killed her, then tricked Ventus into thinking HE was chosen for that role instead. Later, when the other new leaders found out, the formless Darkness emerged from Ventus and attacked them. Ven finally had enough of being manipulated and forced it to fuse with his own heart, to grant it a physical body that the others could kill. He fell into a coma from the exertion, and the others sent him away in an escape pod to the future. This cost him all his memories, and he arrived in the Keyblade Graveyard, where Master Xehanort found him and took him under his wing.

So he egged Ven on to use that darkness, and when Ven still refused, Xehanort grew frustrated with his disciple's weakness and forcibly extracted it from Ven's body, manifesting it as a separate human existence, Vanitas. is correct, Ven's darkness and that primordial Darkness became one, so ripping out the darkness in Ven's heart left him incomplete and on the verge of death. Xehanort took pity on his wretched apprentice and took him to Destiny Islands to die in peace. There Ven's damaged heart connected to the newborn Sora's, who instinctively healed Ven's heart, repairing the damage Xehanort caused. This reflected back to Ven's other self Vanitas, whose heart was repaired by Sora too, and Vanitas came to look like Sora as a result.

Vanitas is a freak of nature, a human whose "heart" is 100% pure darkness. He even loathes his own existence.

First off, KH1 Kairi was the best version of Kairi.
Second off, her personality is different. The person Xion becomes after starting as a relatively blank slate, between her bond with Roxas and Axel and her strong will to defy what she was designed to be, forged her into a person who doesn't really resemble Kairi. They had very differerent lives and struggles.
