Gonna try something bold here and start a Fallout thread that isn't bait. Tired of the tourists and schizos having the reins on these discussions. I love these games and I miss chatting about them here. Anyone doing a run atm? I'm considering a FO2 playthrough. Its been a while. I recently did a run of FO1 and NV back to back, then fucked off to Stalker for a while. Still in the mood for desolate atmospheres and guntism itch scratching.

Got any favorite builds worth trying? I almost always wind up with some kind of sniper/door opener. I'm not very inventive.

Playing F:NV atm myself, just went guns/explosives/survival myself. Has been fun, had an issue with constant stuttering which was caused either by having the vsync bug, or forgetting to remove stutter fix from files.

Builds worth trying

For new vegas its pretty standard but science/energy weapons/repair. Unstable and overcharged microfusion cells with gauss rifle or tri-beam laser is brutal. Can't take wild wasteland if you want the unique gauss rifle variant though.
As for fallout 2 its been so long i've forgotten any decent builds. Maybe rush to the one spot for early power armor and then go full energy weapons? I can only imagine the tutorial will be a bitch if you have no starting stats to try and do something. Barring that i've heard good things about a luck or anti-luck run, I forget, with that one perk that curses everyone with your luck or lack of it, and it's a bit like being fortune from mgs2. Where they almost always miss or critial misfire into themselves.

it's been literal decades since I last played FO1-2. I just go with my gut feeling and larp a shitton. Usually my builds are pretty much jack-of-all-trades, just so I can try different things as I go.

You're speaking of the porn studio in new reno, aren't you anon?

I almost always devolve into some kind of cowboy build in NV. Grab the Medicine Stick and never look back. A friend recently described his shotgun surgeon run and it sounded fun.

Yeah my bad habit is sticking to door opener archetypes too much. Its a bit meta gamey. So I try to force myself to roleplay archetypes more often these days. Which is pretty fun.

No.

Shotguns are great in NV, they really nailed the cowboy feel with the lever action shotgun and hunting shotgun, caravan shotgun. Just fun to use and reload, same as the revolvers. I've had the same problem recently in NV, constantly defaulting to cowboy the last few times i've played. Really need to commit the next run when it happens to an energy weapons build or melee or something.

Unironically started 76 last week. It's not a bad game, it's fun for at least 20 hours as you explore the world. Totally worth it for a couple dollars. Once I started doing the dailies all fun was sucked out of it. Now it's check internet where to find X, fast travel there rinse and repeat instead of organic exploration. Starts to feel more like a boring ass choir by the day.

t. never played an mmo

I tried it once about a year or two ago. Saw some dude in a chinese stealth suit, and just went about my shit collecting ammo and stuff. Hour later I see him again right above me on a ridge watching me. Pretty sure he was following. I mostly played because I heard you could join the enclave, but lost interest when I found out you don't really join them and its just a terminal entry or some shit.

I tried many mmos. WoW, GW2, PoE, Neverwinter Online, New World, Black Desert, Throne & Liberty. The dailies here are different in a very bad way.
Here's a daily quest: Drink 2 Nuka Cranberry. If you are not using any tool the probability of you finishing this quest on your own is next to 0. There are like 10 places where they are guaranteed to spawn on the entire map. If someone took it a short while before you, it's not there either.

imagine playing a massive multiplayer online game and instead of asking anyone for help you decide to search on the internet, you should stick with singleplayers games

I had a quest with the BoS where I was in an abandoned Enclave bunker but that was the one and only time I came across them. However, I'm still early game.

Got any favorite builds

Sneak. You can skip combat.

Are you too stupi to understand what's the problem? Do you think the average person knows from the top of their head? Well I guess they do if they did the same quest 200 times already and checked online.

FO76 is one of the worst examples of an "mmo" and you're outing yourself as never having played a good one if you think all mmos were dailies and wiki-scouring

it's not a bad game,

It is

worth a couple dollars

Okay, Pajeet shill.
Couldn't keep your disguise and instruct fags to at least pirate it?

dailies

Oh great, it's THAT sort of narcotic slop to boot...

Got any favorite builds worth trying?

Just start with Albert, I did that at 8 years old on my second playthrough and it went great.

Here's the map. Even if I would ask a player unless they are kind enough to accompany me there giving rough directions would be like searching for a needle in a haystack

stupi

lol lmao

implying i waste my time on boring choir simulator

i only play good games like fallout 1 and sometimes 2

Nice to see the schizo OP mentioned out in the wild

@707780616
still seething and shilling

the entire premise of a multiplayer game is to interact with other players, go out and fuck around, if you just chat them discord is enough for a chatroom

But interacting with most of them won't help. That's the problem here.

then its a shit game, nuff said

1. open challenges
2. highlight annoying find x item
3. Press R for your free daily reroll

Except you are limited to two of rerolls per day. If you get unlucky you can get multiple quests just as retarded.

i love mad bomber in nv. microfusion clusters my beloved
also nv has such an awesome variety of power fists and uniques worth collecting and playing with. also getting those special moves and using them in third person is fun

that said i just finished my 2nd playthru of 3. having fun just exploring and zapping everything with my alien blasters. dont think ill go back to nv unless new quest mods come out. i had a really fun time reviewing as many as i could in the past

Did a run of 1 and 2 a few months ago with more of a melee focus than usual and with high Luck Jinxed which was absolutely horrendous
Kind of got an urge to play 3 and NV again too so I'll probably get a TTW install up and going soon

Im playing atom rpg, its better than i thought and nice child of F2 in russia

Wasnt TTW literally made by a tranny with pedo shit and other shit like that? Or was it project nevada or some other shit

No clue

Beats me, all I know is it's been the only way to run Fallout 3 in a stable manner for years

sup
Mutate! is a cool perk since you can do a "strongest at all times" build that started with finesse making aimed shots with what you got in the first half, then Mutate! finesse into fast shot for burst shot small arms then big gun blitzing for the second half, and end on 5(6? it's been awhile) gauss pistol shots at the end.

I fhink if you want to play a minimum amount of reloads on hardest difficulty it's actually a great way to play and it's fun to plan out your progression that way

I did a crit unarmed run in F2 not long ago, it was fun

absolutely horrendous

maybe you mucked something up at the start
I did a lucky unarmed jinxed in FO1 and it was legendary. Got captured by the muties then when I hucked up the door of my cell the mutie crit fails his rocket launcher and explodes himself. I had so much fun. High endurance to adjust the tables so I could avoid being crippled and then the luck just carried me

Could always try tale of two wastelands which combines them next time you decide to do a run. It's kinda fun finishing 3 and going to nv, like thematically its your start in nv after being done with all the capital wastelands bullshit.
Also explosives is great in NV, for me it's the grenade machinegun. It used to crash my game if i went too hard with it kek. That and just the plain grenade launcher or launcher mods. So satisfying to reload and shoot. Reminds me of terminator 2.

jinxed, isn't it supposed to be low luck? because you spread your bad luck all around or am I misremembering?

iirc jinxed just turns 50% of misses into critical failures for everybody. it's effectively luck independent. However, Luck modifies the critical failure tables. Having something like 6 luck prevents the worst rolls on the tables, and since Jinxed sets you up to roll on those tables a lot, it helps a lot. Basically, the goal is to make Jinxed hurt everyone else than it can ever hurt your character.
that's why Jinxed pairs best with unarmed.
There's also the thematic benefit of combining Jinxed with max Luck: it makes everything you do appear ever more outrageously lucky.

fo76 is a beta test to make ES6 always online and to also not let you have mods.
then they can charge $100 a year for nerds who pay for ES6 first memberships
you can say "why would people pay that when they can just play eso" eso is dogshit that is barely a elder scrolls game that plays more like world of warcraft

ESO is a thing you schizo

eso sucks shit you retard
literally wow with eso skin

Doesn't matter, it prints money

In June 2019, it was announced that the game had reached 13.5 million players lifetime.[106] As of January 2020, over 15 million units had been sold.[107][108] Pete Hines called The Elder Scrolls Online the most successful Bethesda game from 2017 to 2021.[109] By 2024, the game had generated $2 billion in revenue.[110]

nothing to skyrim online would do

I might try a 10 charisma female build in FO2, I did one in Arcanum and that was fun

skanking it up doesn't actually get you very far
10 char is for maxing party size
if yu horny I guess you can imagine you collect all those 'companions' so you can get passed around on those long trips through the wasteland
hmm
skynet
marcus
sulik
cassidy
goris

i'm more of a lenny, myron, dogmeat, pariah dog, K-9, Robodog kinda girl

When I'm playing FO1 or FO2 I like to do BB Gun runs - sometimes the RNG doesn't agree with me and it takes a while to get the Red Ryder LE BB Gun in 1, at least it's at a guaranteed place in 2 but it takes a while to get there. I've beaten 1, 2, NV, and 4 (had to mod it in) with a BB Gun, but 3 there's no special variant so I haven't even attempted it. It's also possible to get a BB Gun in BoS - but you have to go through one of the early missions without any hostages dying during a raider attack, and I could never do that anytime I tried. It's on the bucket list at least.

In F2 it's quite easy to make martial artist character then you can simply switch to using power fist instead of your bare hands for more armored opponents.

no, you are simply fixated on gay men and children. ttw was made by a 60 year old boomer.

Bump for interest.

Ditto

Hey alright a Fallout thread! Last week I started FO1 for the first time. I have no idea what I'm doing. First I went to Shady Sands, then Vault 15 where I discovered the cave in, then I went to the radscorpion cave and got the venom sample for the doctor so he can make an antivenom. Then I went to Junktown and foiled and assassination attempt and joined a posse and killed the casino boss. Fun game.

Oh yeah this is my build

I have a nagging feeling that you aren't going to have a good time with a melee build in the first game. That's just me though, I've never done a melee build in 1. I still would've put more points into agility, I tend to do more combat runs on 1 and 2 instead of diplomat builds so I normally put he bare minimum into Charisma and move that to other more important traits. I heavily recommend leveling lockpick now while you got the chance.

Unarmed+Big Guns later on low luck max endurance Jinxed build. Extremely resilient but gets crit failure all the time. Tag Doctor and invest a bit in Throwing.

I don't care who made the mod. Is it a good mod or not? Whatever happened to separating art from artist? Is your brain that fucking poisoned that you won't use a good mod because you heard a fucking rumor?

None

Heh. I wish I could play it for the first time again. You're doing good anon. If you want to know what perks are available for your character build you can look at the manual.
Melee/Unarmed is pretty damn good in the first game. The lower AP cost is great once you get a few levels in and equip metal armor. Also drugs.

I know that Unarmed Jinx builds are broken in 2, never done an Unarmed build in 1 though. Also, I don't do drugs in game because drugs are bad.
