Already beated Sunbreak, literally soloed and killed every monster at least 20 times ( by the way, you could fight risen elders more quickly in the anomaly investigation) got the last and best armor and weapon I could have and World is a game that still calls to me when I want a real challenge fighting Fatalis or Alatreon.
I will keep waiting for Wilds to be a complete game before give it a chance, right now it *looks* pretty good, but I know the experience will be horrible until there are official and unofficial patches to fix the issues in the game, so, for now I think that im done playing MH games, at least for a couple of years.

If you're on 4k maybe. I play on native 1440p and 120 fps is possible in some areas but most are somewhere between 70 - 100 depending on the situation. CPU utilisation is around 30 - 35% but spikes on area changes, GPU peaks at 70 to 75%. The thing is the game still looks like arse. Using the HD texture pack I can see them going from utter shit to HD and LoD swaps are also very visible. Not sure if others have this but the in Windward planes when some structures are destroyed the game can freeze for a split second for some shitty reason.

Shells scale, shells don't reduce sharpness as much if at all, you can side step while shelling, shelling reduces wyrmfire cooldown, you get two wyrmfire shots, wyrmfire has a huge range, wyrmstakes come out quicker, you can guard while you reload. They went overboard the weapons boring to use now.

Element is okay for any tier 1 and 2 monster. It's horrible for any endgame monster which you'll mostly be farming. Endgame monsters have terrible elemental hitzones, so raw is king yet again. Home team can't balance for shit.

Okay, so in 3rd gen the games use tables to determine which charms you can potentially get. Now I'm pretty sure that in Tri and P3rd the game re-rolls what table you're on every time you exit the game and re-load your save, but in 3U that's bugged (or a feature, who knows). The game doesn't re-roll your table and instead you're stuck with the one that you rolled on character creation.
Now if all tables were made equal, that would've been whatever, but they aren't. Some tables have significantly better 'god charms' on them than others and certain tables can drop things that are more beneficial to certain weapons. Now obviously it's hardly guaranteed that you'll ever see any of the best charms, but if there's a table with something you'd really, really want, then aiming for that is probably in your best interest.
Worst part about this is that there are certain tables that are 'cursed'. Not only do those have way, way fewer total charms on them, they're also generally worse and, to top it off, some of them literally will not drop certain materials, like Large Fragments for Artian gear.

It's really stupid and really annoying and if you don't know about it beforehand you can really fuck your save over. Use Athena's Fish Finder to check whether you're on a cursed table and, if you so desire, check what table you're actually on and re-roll if it's not what you want.

I have this really bad sickenss where I play the shit out of a MH game then get completely burnt out when new content releases. I loved generations ultimate but it was so long I got burnt out partway. I played World for like 300 hours but I only played Iceborne for a little bit. I spent fucking 50 hours on the Rise Demo but I only finished the base game and never bought Sunbreak. Now I'm worried about that happening with Wilds. I hunted Mitzzy and Zoh Shia a few times and I had my fill. I hope by the time the expansion releases I still have interest.

The one in the image is Yama Kurai from Frontier, which is essentially a straight improvement/revamp of the Yama Tsukami fight. Hated grinding the latter in Frontier too, it was easily one of the worst hunts in the entire series.

I'm convinced he's never coming back, even if a cephalopod skeleton has been added. Part of me believes it's because his design is too funky for Wilds, and the "floating sky elder dragon" niche has already been filled by Amatsu, who's hugely popular because of P3rd and Rise. I doubt they'd invest time and resources into bringing back a fight from the 2nd gen. That said, man was I excited when I unlocked his quest with my buddies back in middle school.

You should be shooting the rocks as much as you can, because when a player explodes it, it will actually hit Zoh and hit him pretty hard actually, like 200-250 damage each. Also seems pretty good at toppling him in the early phases of the fight.

Everything that made gunlance "hard to use" is what made it shit and near the bottom of the weapon usage charts. Rise and Wilds are the most fun gunlance has ever been.

LS gets a Spirit Level for every wound struck, so a 0-3 charge can happen in a nice string. It's great when you get into a string of them thanks to Flayer.

shells don't reduce sharpness as much if at all, you can side step while shelling, shelling reduces wyrmfire cooldown, you get two wyrmfire shots, wyrmfire has a huge range, wyrmstakes come out quicker, you can guard while you reload

it's just a cope because that's your best attack, during solo, you can use it as much as you want because you know the wounds are there to get you back into doing damage, but in multiplayer you have to time it correctly so others don't get it first, making you waste potential damage, if there is a Bow player in your party just forget about ever using that move.

I'd say for utility sake IG or CB probably need it the most, though CB can get savage axe from perfect countering really easily it's just dangerous with how slow the follow up attack is (and has an absolutely abysmal stun value for a counter) which usually leads to having to eat whatever the monster's next attack is.
Flat damage wise any of the slower heavy weapons probably hit the hardest I guess.

Lance is really fun. The issue is that you have it's brother, gunlance, taking all the spotlight. And guess what? Lance is still viewed as the slow, low-dps, defensive weapon clunky weapon even though it's not that slow, has the most damage up time of any class and has some hard hitting attacks, and can't even be argued as clunky with focus mode. Lance is just a very niche weapon that nobody gives a shot anymore.

Swag Axe is and always has been the middle ground between LS and GS; CBlade is an SnS with autism on top and takes about 10 minutes to learn then hours to get guard points down with.

Both. During peak player times when SOS Zosh quests filled up almost instantly, I was just joining whatever was available. This was the story quest most of the time for the first few days after the TU, but is now mostly Investigations at this point.

Switch Axe can look complicated with all it's gauges/ phials/meters but it's easy to learn and get good results with.
Axe to close distance>Swordmode>Charge Sword>Full release slash/ZSD depending on the game>Axe to refill sword
A lot of moves are good for repositioning so it can feel real fluid and fun once you get experienced with it

The hardest part of Switch Axe is the positioning moves. All the attacks that make you back up and stuff and they don't give you iframes.

With Risebreaks (I won't say failure because it wasn't) inability to meet Capcom's expectations on the Switch, I HIGHLY doubt that. It did better on the Switch compared to PC, but they were expecting World's numbers and it fell short across both PC and Switch systems.

Like not shitting on Rise here, I enjoyed the hell out of the game, and Sunbreak was even better. But it was expected to fare far better on a mobile and highly purchased system and it just fell short.

Switch 2, with all of the ire its receiving right now, on top of the lackluster appeal of the game on a handheld, makes the Switch 2 a bad business decision considering the RESOUNDING success World had, and Wilds is currently having.

Could it be? Sure. There is a non-zero chance it is, but it would be a fairly risky move vs what PC is bringing to the table.

As a lancer, the only time I focus strike a wound is when I KNOW I can land the majority of the hits, and even then, I usually just leave them open for other hunters to take advantage of.

The lance's focus strikes, while strong, are situational at best, and destroying them is so disadvantageous to other hunters that it isn't worth doing so unless a perfect strike can be made.

wyvern's fire is now the undisputed best attack like it always should have been, and you can even do it twice in a row

GU would have made the cut if the heat gauge didn't exist and Adept wasn't the only viable option past high rank.

The gimmick of the entire fight is that you can use the elemental slinger ammo around the arena to destroy any crystals it leaves behind. Honestly, they shouldn't have left space for you to outrange it. They should have forced you to actually use the ammo to destroy them and avoid a one hit kill like they do with the ice blocks in the Jin Dahaad fight.

I hope blast dash comes back in the next game, it was fun to chase monsters with.

Sunbreak made GL/L really fun

Wilds GL has such a solid foundation that it upsets me greatly they just fucked up everything else about it.
The new fullburst combo is way too good, incredibly easy to use, while also repositioning you and auto-reloading. It's dumb as fuck and honestly shouldn't even exist or should have instead been the focus attack.
Raw scaling is also a curse in disguise. It's what people have been asking for for ages, but it absolutely rape-murders any kind of variety because whatever has the highest raw with slightly strong shelling (god forbid we get "strong" shelling in G rank) is going to win no matter what, even if it had yellow sharpness and negative affinity and whatever fucking shelling type.
Speaking of shelling types, they feel more irrelevant than they ever have, which is especially disappointing after rise took some steps to differentiate them, that I question why the fuck they even bothered carrying over the mechanic.

you can be a little late, but never early, and still get the offset because you can armor through the hit

Hell, most hunting horns come with divine protection, defense boost, or some resist skills so this is not an issue! Keep said HH as your secondary whether you're good at HH or not!

Even so, with just a straight-up defense build, even with mildly negative resistances, none of Zoh's attacks are one hit kills. You are just a shitty hunter.

Im a lancer with a not-shit build, so I can usually tank its from behind a shield, but even as a lance main I can still survive the nuke with absolutely minimal cost with most other weapons. Full reinforced armor, and MAYBE element resist food? I'm good to go on anything from swaxes, to dual blades, to HBG and Bows.

All it takes is just keeping a constant eye on your HP and his heavily telegraphed nuke, and we are good to go

Monsters really should just OHKO you if you didn't prepare/eat/etc. You should be able to mitigate damage with your own mechanics and not just dealing with the monster's gimmicks.
