Hardcore mode or no? I use JSawyer's mod btw

Hardcore mode or no? I use JSawyer's mod btw.

you are already getting assfucked, might aswell let them use no condom

I find hardcore fun, I genuinely can't play that game without hardcore. I don't think the game is actually hard with it though. I never played with JSawyer though because I like my 50 levels

I liked it. it gives you more resource management and stops you from cheating with stimpack healing through tough fights
also makes some unused perks more attractive.
if you like heavy weapons it could probably be annoying though since those use up almost all your carry weight

I always use it, survival shit aside, it just feels better balanced and brings it a little closer to the classic fallout difficulty

It's not even that hardcore, water and foos are everywhere and you only need to sleep like once every 3 days. The only big change is ammo weight and over time healing.

healing over time

should've been in the base game

hunger and dehydration

pointless busywork

ammo weight

can't deside on this one. on one hand it gives the incentive not to shit up your inventory, on the other it if you somehow run out of ammo for your main gun you won't be able to just pick a random weapon and use different ammo you've accumulated over time

ammo weight

unless i make 10 str character i can barely carry my favourite weapon + the essentials

if i make 10 str character im better off using melee which wont weight as much

Hardcore survival is a lot of fun because you really do have to scrounge but don't do it if backtracking is some kind of sin in your eyes. I completed a playthrough that way and it was rough for the first 5 hours until I had a base of items and money to work with. After that it made me think twice before committing to a vault or big fight and even that was fun, especially the later fights where you can get run over if you aren't planning ahead. If I play normally I get bored of overpowering enemies so early so it was a nice switch up. I added a few mods to make things harder again later and that was fun too.

Yeah, hardcore feels more like intended experience, it's not "hardcore", while non-hardcore is casual for people who expected FO3 2 probably.

Just get the pack rat perk?

The game was NOT designed around it but its cool it nerfs stimpacks as to not be the "OH SHIT IMMA DIE BUTTON" less as with almost every survival game once youre settled in a place it just becomes a nuisance at best Same issue Fallout 4 actually but implemented better as bethesda probably had more time, still its very silly how disease checks work in that game.

Just choose a few weapons based on playstyle, or character perks. Easy enough to carry enough ammo for a few weapons plus exlosives and even aid stuff when using survival.

literally make the game a chore mode

tacked on mechanics for le hardcores

no balancing

Making a 20 minute moment into a 60 minute time sink

Hardcore is a buzzword, man. Do what's fun, but kno that most games pull this and it doesn't ad anything other than an inflated amount of added time, checklists, and chores

20 minute moment into a 60 minute time sink

When does it happen? Every enemy dies easily in hardcore, are you genuinely retarded?

Uninstall.exe

Yes, you'll have a bit more to do as you explore and tougher healing during combat

Hardcore every run. It's not even that hars desu. Just makes food and water actually matter

Yes
and i hope you're using the real Jsawyer mod and not that so-called "jsawyer ultimate" that shit is fanfiction garbage

this shit just makes things tedious, so no

It should be forced
I knew some faggot that couldn’t beat the game because he forgot to drink water
That dude is so bad at video games

JSawyer said you should play hardcore with his mod

just don't forget to pack some doctor's bags
stims don't heal crippled limbs in hardcore
i suggest investing in sneak since sawyer's mod drastically reduces your hp and carry weight

Hardcore just makes more sense.
I wish Fallout 4 had it without messing up the saving system, I'm not losing 30 minutes of progress multiple times during a long playthrough because the game crashed go fuck yourself.

Jsawyer himself said Ultimate was alright and probably fixed some issues his mod had

obviously that's the safe option to just say that about any fan overhaul of his mod

in theory hardcore needs are an immersive idea
in practice they get gutted by the developers because people begin to find that keeping your needs met is tedious gruntwork that you do enough of in reality, why does my video game guy have to eat/drink/piss/shit/sleep? I get my fill of doing that every day

The ammo carry weight can be fixed by picking up packrat
Just wish there was a perk that covered the heavier explosive ammos, just suck knowing you can only carry like 10 or so missiles on each outing

Based perks enjoyer

packrat

require 70 barter

Is it even worth it?

Todd expecting you to play his games without the ability to make multiple rolling hard saves

Lole they must've been smoking some strong shit to come up with a half brained idea like that. Relying on autosaving tied to piss stained mattresses scattered across the world is just asking for save corruption to wipe your progress out.

It was if you were constantly picking up mugs, tin plates and other assorted garbage to break down into crafting components. Thinking about it now you can see why they dialed into that system harder with Fallout 4. Having you stealing everything that isn't nailed down so you can turn that trash into slightly useful garbage to upgrade your gear with.

I play Fallout 3 Hardcore.

Needing food and drink

Needing sleep

Stimpaks heal over time

I can do that.

Ammunition weight

Gay! Are they forcing me to do melee?

Not an argument. It makes the game harder because the combats too fucking easy

yeah I thought about this perk but I wasn't sure it applies to ammo and couldn't google it because I forgot its name. with that perk ammo weight is justified.

yes. get one of the animated drinking/eating mods

You'll use the boxing tape and you WILL enjoy it

Get Pack Rat and Strong Back perks asap, and learn to store your stuff in right places. You don't need to haul all your shit 24/7.

The only remotely hard aspect of hardcore is followers being able to perma die

It doesn't change the game as much as you would think IIRC.

Play with hardcore mod on. It feels more satisfying than playing normally.
Also use JSUE or Lone Star instead of original JSawyer, because original JSawyer is full of errors and clashes a lot with other mods.
Ammo weight is manageable. Stick to only 2 or 3 weapons you have, learn where to store your items, and stop picking up all trash you see. You don't need to hoard everything and carry it everywhere 24/7.

you can open it up and adjust the carry weight limits. which I feel were a bit much

stop picking up all trash you see. You don't need to hoard everything and carry it everywhere 24/7

But...

For fuck sake, learn to store shit in safe places. You can use several locations as your safe houses, and be good with it. Why do you even need to haul 1k .308 and 1,6k .357 rounds?

thats what your house is for

I NV in hardcore mode and the hardest difficulty and the only difference was that it made the enemies bullet sponges.

NV needs hardcore mode in my opinion. Even though the systems aren't really fleshed out, it adds a lot of ambience to the game and especially the DLCs that take your shit away to scavenge.
Dead Money is a completely different experience if you take away the need to sleep, eat and drink and it's clear especially the outer area of the casino park was designed with hardcore in mind.
My only issue with NV (same with F3) is that your money and maintenance situation entirely depends on carry weight bullshit. There's no real reason for you to carry more than 2-3 guns and some grenades and ammo, but because you need to pick that shit up to sell you get forced into the annoying as fuck weight management anyway

Addiction is such a pain in the ass to deal with so I only take drugs in tougher combat heavy encounters

You're really dumb if you don't know how to open the ini that comes with the mod and set it to get yourself a perk every level. I mean this is stated in the installation instructions.

I like everything about it except the meter-management 'survival' bullshit. Never did like "keep meter up" survival mechanics.

get into honest hearts

first slasher i take makes me addicted

lol, i think there's consumables that help with addiction but i don't remember if i actually had them/took them

Fixer only offers a temporary relief and it does that annoying poison'd screen effect with the loud noises so I stay far away from it

If you value role-playing and wanna be immersed, yes. Even more so with jsawyer since he intended it to be used with that.

it has nothing to do with how fast enemies die you turd brain, it's the tedious busywork like eating and drinking every 5 minutes

jsaw doesn't do this.

This game is so bad. Artificial difficulty out the fucking wazoo.

thankfully i keep a large portion of drugs on me at all times thanks to dumping charisma for intelligence so i could craft my own drugs
i think jet was one of the harder drugs to make/get, or i was just going through it so quick because of turbo or something
