Yoshi's Island is pretty much the only good standard platformer ever. Anything else good is entirely experimental/abnormal with its gameplay such as Rain World or Noita. Don't bother playing platformers unless the gameplay is very obviously "unique" like those games.

Dark Souls 1 is the worst of the Souls games, but at least has a memorable map, good level design, and a huge amount of weapons and build variety.

Hollow Knight is just a giant labyrinth of constant dead-ends and backtracking, apes mechanics from Souls that don't fit at all, the map is 5x bigger than it should be and all environments look the same, and you have one weapon with a few charms that barely change gameplay and you can only equip a few at a time and can only change them at benches, so vast majority are worthless
