Why isn't my sugar cane growing?
Help me Anon Babble
light level too low probably
better?
idk lol you tell me
you might run into an issue with the sugarcane only growing two blocks tall because the torches are blocking them
oh ok
why would you build a farm indoor
so players dont grief it (im playing on 2b2t)
i fixed it
Suicide Watch isn't as bad as people say Anon, go visit your Psych.
Can it even grow up to the ceiling? I thought it needed empty block space in all directions including up.
he doesn't have a secret self-sustaining underwater base
good now build canons to bypass the servers anti-griefing system and fuck up everyone's shit.
I recognise that diorite. See you soon OP.
Anon...
Old minecraft my beloved
Just worked out your coordinates.
i have no idea what modern vanilla is like but im pretty sure sugar cane can grow taller than 3 blocks yes so your ceiling would block growth higher than 3 blocks. Your sugar cane will still grow, it just wont get taller than 3 blocks.
Update: IT GREW
congratulations! are you doing the 404 challenge?
I don't want to know. in my mind everything is just as it always was
whats the 404 challenge
Is 2b2t one of those things channers sperg about because it was once their sekrit club but then became too popular?
Now place some pistons and a hopper to automatically gather them
wow
huge for the account!!
how do i make those
404 was a seed with a huge fucking cave system right at spawn. the challenge was to collect as many resources as possible on the surface and then go in the cave system and live there for the rest of the playthrough
no im playing on anarchy server
Who the fuck is this idiot with the sugar canes?
dont talk shit about Sugar Cane Anon
OP
yeah
Is this just an ARG thread for youtube content?
Wot u living underground 4, were u caught chattin 2 kids?
because caves are kino
Something like pic related. The hopper is placed on top of a chest at the end of the water flow. I don't think this one is fully automatic but if you make a simple repeater loop (or use observers instead if you're playing on modern versions) it can be automated.
When I was young I would play minecraft pe and think that the sheep were the zombies at night, and being scared of them.
For some reason this thread just reminds me of that.
Lurk moar newfag.
does this seed work on bedrock? or is it a server
kek
I'm a fucking dumbass.
not denying
Thank you.
he means how do you build a hopper and piston lol
it hasnt worked since java beta versions I believe, it's an oldfag thing
Stanley then went to Anon Babble's Anon Babble board and proceeded to make a thread inquiring about why his sugar cane wouldn't grow. It was then replied to by helpful anons explaining to Stanley what he was doing wrong. Stanley then proceeded to go back to the game and use the anon's helpful advice to fix his sugar cane farm.
Sounds very believable... some might even say "too real".
Stanley had hoped that fixing his sugar cane farm would lead to a sense of normalcy, a quick fix to a minor problem in his Minecraft world. But when he logged back in, something felt... off. The once calm and peaceful landscape had taken on an eerie quality. The sun was setting unusually fast, casting long, sharp shadows across his pixelated world. He shrugged it off as just a quirk of the game, a glitch that might be connected to the server or a mod he had recently installed.
As he worked to adjust his farm, he noticed strange symbols etched into the dirt beneath the sugar cane. They were faint, almost invisible unless you looked at them from the right angle. A series of runes, or so it seemed, that didn't belong in any standard Minecraft language.
searched "how 2 build gun" as a retarded teen
it returned minecraft cannon designs instead
this is how i found the game lol
Did you build a gun?
Stanley, still uneasy but not wanting to overthink it, tried to focus on the task at hand. But when he tried to place a new block, his inventory froze. The interface didn't respond. He relogged, and when he came back into the world, there was something different about his environment, something more oppressive. The sky was darker, the world quieter. The usual peaceful music was replaced by a low, distorted hum. Even the animals seemed to move more sluggishly, as if under some unseen weight.
a coil gun, yes
You shouldn't have listened to them.
Then, he heard it. A whisper, barely audible, coming from the game’s chat box.
"You shouldn't have listened to them."
Stanley froze, his heart racing. He quickly scanned the Anon Babble thread again, hoping for some sort of explanation. That’s when he saw it : a new post, one he hadn't noticed before, appearing just as he refreshed the page.
Herobrine is watching you. He knows what you did.
Stanley felt his stomach drop. He had heard the myths, the stories of Herobrine : an enigmatic figure, said to be an elusive and malevolent presence that haunted Minecraft worlds. Players who claimed to have encountered him described mysterious structures, strange symbols, and unsettling occurrences like the one Stanley was experiencing.
Trying to shake off his fear, Stanley decided to head to bed for the night. But as he logged off and closed his laptop, something felt wrong. As he lay there in the dark, he thought he saw a flicker of light coming from his computer screen, despite it being turned off.
The next day, Stanley’s curiosity got the better of him. He logged into his Minecraft world once more. To his horror, his sugar cane farm was gone. Instead, in its place, there was a structure—a large, imposing shrine built out of obsidian, with an ominous symbol carved into its center.
"I warned you," the chat read again, this time in red text.
Neat.
Only 3?
What a noob.
Stanley's pulse quickened. He'd heard stories about players who’d interacted with Herobrine, and they always ended in disaster. Was this a prank? A clever mod? Or had he unwittingly summoned something far darker into his world?
Suddenly, the game froze again. The camera shifted on its own, slowly panning up to the sky.
The sun had disappeared entirely, replaced by a moon that shone too bright, casting an unnatural glow across the land.
Then, he saw him.
Herobrine.
you can't trick me
youtube.com
Stanley’s hands trembled as he tried to exit the game, but it wouldn’t let him. The mouse cursor was frozen, and his character remained rooted to the spot.
The chat began to flood with more cryptic messages. "You shouldn't have questioned it," one said. "The game is not what it seems."
A cold chill ran down Stanley’s spine. Herobrine had found him, and now, he would never be able to escape.
Update: It grew more this time
behind the fourth sugar cane, I see it
See... what?
Why hasn't the other one grown?
it's a late bloomer
Stanley is done for...
Stanley asked, trembling as he posted this.
Update: It still hasn't grown
Stanley asked, feeling confused, instinctively knowing that this wasn't natural.
Get some dirt to plant wheat while you wait.
Why are you underground?
sorry if someone already asked, I haven't looked through the thread yet
Playing 2b2t in 2025
because im on 2b2t
Yeah I agree anon, I hate the new minecraft textures but I just use programmer textures + custom made textures to make the game feel old again
Because you touch yourself at night
Haha LOL! Sick family guy reference. I love family guy. That's an old family guy reference too you're my kinda dude wanna hang out? Just two guys, pal'in around watching family guy together? We probably have the exact same sense of humour, I bet we could even finish each other's -

deir sekrit klub
I......am STEVE
Update: WHAT? It hasn't grown yet. This is insane
What I am doing wrong?
Need sunlight, tard.
UPDATE 8: IT FINALLY GREW
Im talking out of my ass here but I'm pretty sure the way growing works is after a certain number of ticks each sugarcane has a chance to grow but isn't guaranteed to grow, so the growth rate is random. This one but of sugar cane you've got is just getting unlucky rng.
Or maybe none of that is true because I literally made it up. But it sounds right to me.
I remember spawning underground in a tiny room with no way out
I didn't save the seed unfortunately
Sugarcane grows after getting 16 random ticks, and with default settings only 3 blocks per subchunk get a randomly ticked per gametick (out of 4096.) So it can vary a lot.
Also light level doesn't matter for sugarcane.
