What went wrong is it’s made by known scammers who commit false advertising and fraud.

Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January 2021 and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.

Why do people think this is healthy and commendable behaviour?

lmao first valve game that flopped

Kys yourself underaged cuck.

good for her

It's only selling point was that it was made by Valve. It was ugly, unnecessarily complicated and boring. It didn't attract MOBA players, because MOBA player want to play their game, be it LOL, DOTA or HOTSxD and it didn't attract shooters players, because those want to play shooters, not MOBAs. It also didn't attract new players, because, it was ugly as fuck and looked like some student's homework, hastily put up in unity and not a real game. Besides, there already is a third person MOBA, it's Smite, and it isn't particularly popular, so why would anyone expect Deadlock to gain any popularity. Overall, Valve once again showed that it can't make good games, only tech demos, and while twenty years ago calling tech demo a game and selling it as such was possible, nowdays market is so saturated that it's not an option anymore.

I found it very boring
I took a look at the item shop and didn't know what I was staring at
It also looks dull, which is a sin for moba

hahaha what were they thinking

it's not even out of development yet and you're all just dismissing it kek.

The Valve cult here is real. Seeing people on Anon Babble defend these hideous Battleborn-tier designs is crazy. Just put a Valve stamp on any turd and Anon Babble will defend it

already confirmed to be an old model from an earlier project, but it's still terrible how long it's taking them to replace it.

how soon people forgot about Concord.

isnt trans lifeline the one that spent the money trying to make a shipping container commune in the desert

Muh "unique silhouettes TF2 talk slide and its consequences...."

is Tim still making any new games? No? ohh...

Merciless assessment.
And completely correct.

the game is still 90% placeholders a year in, they only updated one character model and they keep adding in new ones with shitty temp designs

It looks like the tranny jeet founder was trying to set up an “intentional community, art space, and small business incubator in the Mojave Desert”.
This was after he was fired from the company for embezzling money.

Porn

The number of people working on Deadlock is definitely very tiny. Probably around 3-5. And with lack of interest from gamers, soon nobody will remain.

They tried to replace TF2 and nuValve cant replicate that perfection

there's at least 30 people working on it, valve just doesn't give a shit about releasing anything on time

That's a man.

I think I'll buy another game on Steam.

artifact foundry would have been good if they finished it. valve just isnt happy with a modest success, they only want to make big huge revolutionary games. the last time they dared to have a bit of fun was orange box

They really just try to overtake everything and make everything about them

pls talk about my collabslop

underage-kun...

Why should he when Fortnite is a goldmine?

what fanbase

to make more people interested in his shitty digital store? like you said It isn't much else than just a glorified Fortnite launcher right now

Maybe 30 people who have contributed to it in total. Nowadays, who would bother with that dead flop when HL3 is in the works?

It has Fortnite and Genshin Impact, both individually bigger than Steam.

It has Fortnite and Genshin Impact, both individually bigger than Steam.

There are selling points its just that they're drowned out by how much of a clusterfuck the game is. Fantasy prohibition new york is a cool setting. The movement is good. There are novel moba ideas. But none of that matters because the game is a complete clusterfuck. No one who loves the movement wants to learn the 900 mobashit mechanics. No one who loves mobashit wants to learn the optimal rollout from stationwagon to dickbutt's ledge. And no one gives a fuck about a moba's worldbuilding, just if the character look good or not.

i'm still having fun

He actually won in the end

(OP)
Looking at this makes me realize that western games have an optics problem.

If you're walking on the sidewalk and a hobo wants to sell you candies, no matter how well wrapped and pristine the packaging is, you probably won't be buying candy from a hobo.
Similarly, if you want to sell you game to average, normal people, you can't have people like this being the optics, it's simply not doable.

you're absolutely right, black beacon global

stupid namefag

Maybe because they're not actually placeholders and they're just hoping you'll "get over it" which is a pretty common attitude in these western studios. Ever think about that?

They should have just made a normal hero shooter instead of their weird moba thing.

not really, because the developers have outright stated that they're placeholders and there's a clear lack of textures + rigging/model problems when you compare them to the one model they have updated
valve hasn't publicly acknowledged the game at all besides lifting the NDA because it's year(s) away from being ready

It isn't even out yet.
When I bring it up to random people they have never heard of it, even if they have played a bunch of other valve games and regularly play games.
And with it being invite only as well right now, even if anyone who has one can invite others, it's still not just click it and play nor is it advertised.

I think you overestimate how many people have even made a first impression of the game yet.

The minute I got muted one time for bullying trannies in the game and lispy faggots is when I known this game was doomed.
Not even Marvel Rivals has that much censorship.
Every multiplayer game that censors your freedom of speech will ALWAYS flop.
I shouldn't be muted for hurting some terminally online losers "feefees" when IRL I'd be openly able to say it and wouldn't be "muted"

Out of the people who tried it, just about everyone dropped it like the piece of shit it is. Do not forget that.

I feel like the 'placeholders' thing is cope. You just KNOW half of the roster for the final game will be these ugly caricatures of the negro's form

It isn't even out yet.

It will never release my friend, Valve only cares about its online walmart and casino, any side project that they may be working on is a third-rate occupation for the devs that are curently lazing around. The game wasn't a hit, so they'll quietly pull the plug when the player count dwindles enough and forget it.

the game will always be ugly because uhhh there's two niggers in it

bad faith argument, they're all in a folder called heroes_staging except for the one that's obviously more finished than the rest of them

There's too much going on, that's the games best/worst aspect.
It's a moba 3rd person movement shooter with an item shop allowing for crazy builds, and that level of complexity might be fine if it wasn't a moba as said, which inherently demands teammates who weren't dropped on their heads as babies.

everyone dropped it like the piece of shit it is

why have they dropped it?
Most people stop playing a game after a little bit, occasionally returning to it for online multiplayer games, very few people stick with and consistently play them.
If they stopped playing because they think the game looks like ass and needs more time to look better, then they don't have a problem with the game until it release and if it still looks like ass.

My point is I don't think you can't draw a definitive conclusion on why people stopped playing an alpha of a game just because its "bad" because there are a lot of reasons to stop playing it and its expected for people to not put that much time into an alpha.

Yeah IF it releases and WHEN is a big fucking deal, if it releases in 5 years after a bunch of other shit steals it lunch and new trends are popular it will do poorly, if it doesn't seem to be doing well enough and valve scraps it and it never gets a release I wouldn't be surprised either.
they make all their money from the steam store, but gabe still pushing for games to get made, curious to see where it goes, what they do with it
but I am not going to call it dead when it hasn't even fucking released, it will either be cancelled or released.

I'd say it needs a casual mode with stripped-down mechanics and faster rounds, but the only game I remember trying that was Gigantic and that didn't turn out very well

small business incubator in the Mojave Desert

incubator is a good way of wording it
