Switch 2 will get TWO HOURS of battery life
At 10w
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
How much is Switch Lite in comparison?
4-7 hours depending on the game
3 hours of gameplay with Switch Lite.
Nothing burger.
Gaming has stagnated, enjoy paying $800 for the switch with a slight system upgrade.

Your ass
I wouldn't expect tendies to know anything about this, OP. They're not gonna get mad. But 2 hours for a 10 watt TDP isn't actually that good, considering the steam deck is able to get 2 hours at a 15watt TDP and that's able to do a lot more.
They're really banking (again) on people being kind of stupid and just wanting the bing bing wahoo. That works 50% of the time, so it's a coin toss at this point.
Steam is the one competing with Nintendies solely for the attention in the handheld market. They only real competition they got but those two markets aren't really competing they are just sharing the same audience.
Sure puts paid to all those "X will run at 60fps" arguments though. Not at 10w they're not. I'm expecting them to find one of two games that do, and focus all their attention on them, with botw being one of them.
considering the steam deck is able to get 2 hours at a 15watt TDP and that's able to do a lot more
There's a different architecture there in consideration though
However. The deck does have a TDP limiter and that can extend battery a lot (as long as you're alright with running old shit). Like I don't imagine getting 10 to 12 hours out of the switch 2 running NSO virtual console games like SMW.
Don't care, my switch never leaves the dock anyway.

palfags still acting like their early access open world survival crafting game that sold 5% of what pokemon does, had any effect on nintendo
I wonder whether the switch 2 will have any kind of TDP limiter at all, let alone a GPU limiter too. It makes a world of difference on the deck sometimes, but I know it's an extra step that Nintendo won't bother taking, because they just assume the stupidity of their customer base, like this guy:
then congrats on having the least powerful console on the market
palfags still acting like *files lawsuit* their early access open world survival crafting game *hastily files patent on spheres* that sold 5% of what pokemon *tries to patent monster capture genre* does, had any effect on *files another lawsuit* nintendo
Those spheres have been part of Pokémon's iconic design and characteristics for years though?
They won't take that step because it would be too confusing for 7 year olds and grandmas. This is a successor to the switch which was a pretty locked down platform to begin with where, if you got a port that was shit, no matter how it looked (for instance, bloodstained which honestly should run fine on the switch but doesn't), then that's it, you're fucked. Unless you got a modded switch in which case you can use FPS unlocker and overclocking, but at the cost of a lot of noise because the switch fan freaks out if the console reaches a temperature that is miles away from unsafe. And some games don't know what to do with those hacks and don't do anything to increase performance anyways.
Thanks for making me snicker at the most pathetic post I've seen all day, tendie.
I agree. It's a simple enough step, but only if you're in any way computer literate. Most of the normies that buy these products would need it spelled out so much to them and they'd still fuck it up. But yeah, you're right about ports that are just..shit. A lot more games are poorly optimised now, and even on the steam deck, bloodstained needs a LOT more power than it ought to, just to keep a decent 60fps. I don't know how they're gonna mitigate that on third party games. From what I remember of the switch, it was a constant problem, and some games were so shitty they ran at like 12fps. Hell, even the first party games had their moments..
So realistically, what could they do other than have a physical switch on the side that says "Low/medium/high power" or something? I keep coming back to 10w TDP and how low that is..

those patents were in place for decades, palfag
keep coping
good businesses innovate
bad businesses litigate
sit down
Even as the TCG back design its part of the Pokémon design that's iconic to the series, you are just coping as a Palworld cock sucker.
That patent was filed around the time they were developing Arceus, anon. 2021.
patents.google.com
And Palworld doesn't innovate, Indians and Chinese can't into that for some reason, they only keep ripping off game ideas and claiming they came up with it to avoid lawsuits.
A ball is iconic to the series
soccer was invented 3000 years ago.
yet they don't litigate, so they're still more respectable than Nintendo, anon.
The only thing they've been doing already on the switch and will do on the 2 is performance and quality profiles.
The switch 2 has an advantage where it can use VRR. It's not the best solution, but if some game runs at an odd framerate under 60fps at least it won't feel like absolute garbage.
I've played quite a few ports on the switch (since I modded the damn thing) and I noticed that some of them do have these profiles, but rather than lock quality at 30 and performance at 60, it's something else like 24 and 45. And it's jarring as shit. I think one of the worst ports is Pacman World Re-pac because that shit has some unfixable framepacing issue no matter if you choose performance or quality mode, or you lock the fps through modding, or you overclock, it's just completely fucked. Even docked. I feel bad for people who bought that shit.
I noticed some issues on the deck with a few games, but I found that mangohud as a limiter is better than what steam has. There's more shit to try basically and I don't have to go through a more annoying modding process. I got bloodstained to run at 90fps myself without a lot of hitching.
wtf sales = quality is a Anon Babble retardation never thought id see it on Anon Babble.
Imagine looking like this and deciding to do an on-camera youtube channel.
Fifa has some copyrights on soccer actually that would make your complaints about nintendo moot.
#1: He seems to be married.
#2: He's white.
#3: I can tell you are not-white and moaning about him having some hoe to fuck and you are too ugly to land a girlfriend.
Imagine laughing at that, loser.
base PS4 performance in docked
Pay up piggies.
I had a modded switch for a while, but it was so awful I gave it away. Nothing ran well at all, and compared to the deck, it was literally nothing more than a fisher price toy.
Never tried mangoHUD though. Don't you have to be on desktop mode to use that, or can it replace the stock in gaming mode? I have a nice long list of decky addons, but honestly it's been a while since I had to touch anything there for power management, except for dolphin.
Phawx is the guy who made the swap file program for the Steam deck and he's constantly reviewing PC handhelds. He backs up his claims with data, and his chart autism rivals Gamer's Nexus. He's the opposite of a grifter, he's a fucking nerd, and a smart one at that.
Tendies love McDonald's.
Now we know why it costs so much and took forever to be released. Tech is just still not to the point they wanted.
Switch is better than a console cause you can play it anywhere!
-who cares about the handheld...
cope
is this the new snoy x tendie thread
if so, can someone tell me what is the difference between key carts and ps5 discs, im retarded
Imagine not having at least a baseline amount of respect for thephawx, because he said unkind things about your favourite corporation's new toaster
full blown kek
without trying to stoke the fires of "console wars", the fact that it isn't anywhere near as good as the steam deck OLED is really off-putting. Especially as it costs more.
More of a Burger King fan. Cheaper than McSlop for my slop needs.
You can use it on gamemode, all you have to do is put it on launch options for each game you want to run with it enabled.
I mean technically you already use mangoHUD if you set the option to check your FPS and performance. But that HUD also has an FPS limiter. You can use that to mitigate some input lag that the normal FPS/Hz limiter has.
You have to use the following:
MANGOHUD=1 MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_limit=90,no_display,fps_limit_method=early %command%
The fps limit can be changed to whatever, no_display is to hide the HUD if you don't need it. Make sure to disable the fps limit on the gaming mode HUD.
steam deck tier battery life, congrats
I have the OG Switch and when I was contemplating on trading in the system for an OLED model I kept it instead and got an OLED steam deck.
Is the Switch 2 significantly stronger than the Deck?
i have a switch lite and this is reasonable
I don't know who the fuck this is other than that screenshot, I've never read the name "thephawx" before, and I haven't bought a nintendo console since the N64
I don't care about Nintendo, or the switch 2's quality or price, or whether this man says true things.
I just don't like overtly ugly people.
Why is Nintendo desperately patent trolling to get the game shut down if it doesn't matter to them? I don't even like Palworld, but it's obvious that it pissed Nintendo off for some idiotic reason.
Is it really though?
The ABA called, they want their basketball back.
Another fake screenshot after the whole "20 FPS Z-A" one?
Clickbait isn't so funny when nintendo strikes down your channel for lying for the sole purpose of damaging their brand
Well Nvidia hasnt been known for their exceptional perf/watt at the low end.
Just look at their best offerings down there, the 3050 6GB is 70Watts rated and performs at the level of an RX480 and GTX1060, cards from 2016, nearly a decade ago.
True but Nvidia is the chip designer of the archtecture and silicon.
Switch 2 will come with a shit screen and battery so I’m 3-4 years Nintendo can upgrade it and make it cost more and get repeat sales later
turn on HDR
battery life is murdered
This is why HDR is a meme.
On the whole, it is significantly weaker. Put simply, handheld it will run at 10 watts maximum. The deck gets 15 watts maximum.
It's not real HDR. It's an IPS display, of course it's going to kill the battery.
And you can't even manually tune clocks and TDP to get that sweet power to performance ratio.
This shit would be dead on arrival if it weren't for emotionally-stunted milennials having their childhoods repackaged and ransomed back to them.
How does that address what anon said about how palworld clearly is having an effect on Nintendo? If anything the patenting now in response to Palworld is proof that that game is giving them issues.
