Season 2 is legit that bad and the devs are playing victim over even the mildest criticism and they went from a 10k regular player base online to under 6k.
Devs also seemed determined to convince the fan base they are wrong about what they want while failing to convince casuals to give the game a shot cause now it's button mashing trash.
Maybe it's time to move to VirtuaFighter

Tekken 8 could lose 90% of its players and it would still be more alive than VF. I know VFags are hoping for a resurgence but you guys forget that the franchise hasn't had a new release in almost 20 years.

Something needs to be popular first and then decline to have a resurgence. VF was NEVER popular in the West. The only country it can have a resurgence in is Japan.

VF will never be relevant again despite all the shilling from YouTubers. At the end of the day, the roster is full of boring characters and the gameplay is too autistic for anything but a niche audience. They can't even lean on their legacy anymore since nobody under 25 was even alive back when VF was a big fish in the FG scene.
Harada might've fucked up with T8, but it's still in an entirely different universe from VF.

That was one of the worse changes in Soul Calibur. Not against meters per say but it was far better without the reversal system.

Someone tell Harada you don't always need to add a new mechanic to each edition of a series. Sometimes new moves and a fresh coat of paint are all you need.

Seems to be the purest fighting game around. May give it a try but that learning curve be steep.

Not that Tekken is any better but MK is supposed to have the most coherent story of all fighting game franchises.

I don't even like Tekken that much, I only really played 8 in the first place because my friends were playing it. Now that season 2 is as shit as it is I'm just gonna go back to doing what I did before, not playing any fightan. Would play KOF if a single god damn soul in my friend group also plays it, UMVC3 is never ever getting rollback and Dead or Alive is dead forever. So yep, nothing for me.

I just never got into VF but with the new VF dropping, and Tekken making it clear that not only are they not listening to customers but they are chasing a mythical audience that doesn't exist (the casual who spends money like crazy on useless cash shop items and battle passes and plays all the time but also doesn't play that much) this might be VFs chance to steal Tekkens marketshare.
Never was against VF, just was always more of a Tekken fan.

This is actually what I'm doing since fucks arcsys were smart enough to put in actual anime defense options with anime bullshit. Tekken 7 s4 pissed me off so I went to strive until Tekken 8, Tekken 8 pissed me off so I started playing strive again, Tekken 8 s2 is the most retarded patch I've ever seen so now I'm going all in on strive while I have my bit of fun learning sf6.

We may have the answer to why Tekken is being turned into dogshit. Harada is desperate to chase after Street Fighter and whatever they do and are expecting similar results for copying them.
Thing is I play Tekken because it is a 3d fighter. 2D and 3D are entirely different fighting game types.

Tekken 7 has no crossplay

Tekken 7 takes 10 minutes to find a match

Tekken 7 has unlimited ranked rematching which further adds to the long wait time for match making.

Other than that it has arguably better mechanics & more characters.
Even the assist mechanics for noobs were superior to the slop they replaced it with. A 1 frame delay in exchange for easy input on certain moves was great.
