It's basically a Wo Long spirit bar.
It goes up if you hit things and goes down if you get hit.
You can spent it to cast spells and weapon arts.
Also, your general damage is tied to it.

Bar has different segments for different power steps, it goes up to red depending on equipped things

light blue > dark blue > purple > red are the damage boost increments, whichever section your sync bar is on while you attack or use skills and spells determines how much extra damage it does

So I am near the end of my first playthrough and apparently I missed out on one of the soils as I only have 6 stamps (there should be 7). But I do have the max branch cultivation and achievement.

Quite alot in my opinion. 30Spt + Investigator Seal + Missile Barrage turns you into a walking nuke. You can fire up to 4 volleys when you enter a boss. Thats some 3000+ damage before the fight even starts + massive stagger potential for extra hits.

I don't know, at 60 it still seemingly heals around 300-400 HP. But even this amount is busted because it's essentially free, and if you use it together with Piercing Claw you basically refund health loss back.

You can fuck up Goat-chan's quest line too if you try.
I kind of forgot to drop down the pipe of death and followed the main path until Loskid.
After teleporting to Charon's tree garden it hit me.
I ported back, dropped down the pipe, saw last memory vision and Asteria asked me to get Goat to open the gate for me but Goat already vanished for the rest of the game.
It sucked double because this was a magic run.

I poisoned the hunter of bladers with the envenomed blade but I found that it was doing so little damage over time it really wasn't worth bothering. I had more DPS on the scythe, I couldn't get piercing to proc or if it did and I didn't notice it did no damage. I thought infestation would be the answer since sync rate matters for bladers but I had like 5 shriek cores and it took 2 to work so as with all consumables in a souls-like, it's more time efficient to just practice doing the fight straight up. In the end it was yet another parry fight because it's the only thing that works consistently in the game.

I used the poison on the last hunter boss in poison woods since I managed to zipline there half dead with close to no mudballs left and I really really didn't want to fight all 4 again.
His fire phase kind of erased even the last remains of my healing items so I just circled one of big trees till he died to poison. Slow as fuck but it did the job.

As with all these games multi-fights are a chore and when the 4th guy gets down to the last third of health he just endlessly spams wide sweeping attacks that leave little opening. I had to just keep the big tree between us and wait for the railgun to charge because there was no way I was risking another attempt just to do a melee kill.

Vikas's quest is fucked up...

Happened to me too.
If he doesn't fight Charcoal and you talk to his pops, Vikas won't appear for the rest of the game.
Shirley's quest you can salvage even if the two never meet.
I did all 3 endings in one go using save backup.
Backed up after Loskid fight, before she gave me the golden branch and it worked for me.
I could get Azure branch from Delpha normally.
I gave him all soil samples before, besides that one he says it's too contaminated to purify.
Maybe that's the difference?

Went there before Knight but still managed to fuck up because I didn't find the zipline leading to hunter gang boss.
Didn't Speak to Vikas breaking his quest.

NTA but she's hyped by Stone as the toughest arch necro that will vaporize you if you look at her wrong.
And you can just stick to her ass and slap it repeatedly for relatively easy win.

The nanomachines are the crystals found inside the mud. The nanomachines can manipulate the matter soup, resulting in the abilities of the mud.

This also explains the nature of Nuclei. They are clumps of nanomachines designed to better control the mud bodies of church constructs, necros and bladers. It's probably much more effective than relying on a random amount of nanomachines spread out in the mud.

The process to make mud balls deactivates and neutralizes the nanomachines, leaving only the inert organic sludge. I remember a lore note mentioning that the process uses electromagnetism. The process is literally just hitting the nanomachines in the mud with an EMP. It also explains the awful taste of mud balls. A sludge made out of a mishmash of all possible kinds of organic matter would have a vile taste.

A lore note mentions that mud reacts to consciousness and electrical signals. These are effectively just commands sent out to the nanomachines, giving them instructions on what to do with the organic matter. Commands such as construct a body out of the matter (Necros and Bladers) or manipulate the matter to create various desired effects like generating energy or constructing offensive weaponry (spells). The void creatures are created by negative emotions sent out by consciousnesses (most probably subconsciously), which the nanomachines interpret as commands to make lifeforms of pure violence, hatred and strife.

I do remember her feeling connection to Arissa and someone far away, which makes sense, considering all Bladers are mud golems, i.e. there's little difference between them on the physical level, and Delpha is quite far from there.

I don't think it was even that. His hunters go after Necros. They drop those crystals too. And the church is all too happy to supply them as a proxy army.

Weight isn't a concern. You move just as fast no matter what you're carrying.
Katanas are a thing but they're spread out across the game.
First one you get is kind shitty. The other two are locked behind a hidden boss fight against the one of the nastiest critters in the game.
They generally use Technique as their stat, with one of them side-stepping into Spirit.
Don't worry too much about stats though. You can get an infinite free respec item in the swamp, just before the Cleansing Knight boss.

They go after anything including Church bots, especially if they've been weakened by Necros. The church just doesn't question where the crystals come from so the Hunters take advantage of that. What Vikas was so pissed about is that a bunch of hunters got killed fighting the Cleansing Knight and his boss wasn't concerned about the human casualties involved. Vikas thought being a Hunter was partially about survival but his boss was treating it as a no grudges held business.

The scaling reminds me about bloodborne a lot in this regard. 25/25 quality is generally better than any "specialized" build going all in one stat
The only exception is spirit because of spell scaling, but at least it flatlines at 60 instead of 99 i guess

Had more issues with the combat being rather boring and the plot not making a lot of sense, even with both routes.

Lords of the Fallen and AI Limit both have really good level design. AI Limit leans more into the "Oh shoot, a hidden thing" side of things.

It's not a marker of "literal" family, given that Arrisa is one of the people she's connected to, but rather a "figurative" family.
And I got the impression that she never really knew her mom at all, so no connection there.
In fact I think there's a text log indicating Shirley's thoughts on Ursala. She thinks Ursala is cool, but she doesn't known anything about her besides that. This would have been after Ursala got brainwashed.

You need to find recipes and give them to the trader. The first one is hidden in this area.

You need the right trade agreement. You give them to the merchant who asks you to keep an eye out for his apprentice.

They're spread out across the game. You're pretty close to the first one, whish should let you buy infinite carbon.

I don't think it's explicitly stated what Shirley sees is, just connections which could imply anything.
That said, there's a massive, ridiculous amount of circumstantial evidence indicating Shirley's parentage, way too many to be simple coincidence.

One of the Doctor’s research notes said that the void only appear in the sewer area near the courtyard of the tree. He tried gathering a bunch of people somewhere else and no void appeared at all despite the conditions being the same.

I think you got that backwards mate.
The problem the doc was facing is that Void wouldn't appear in the area near the Courtyard.
Charon was suppressing them so they didn't fuck with the tree.
Case in point, you've got plenty of Void in the South and North sewers but not the center, that's mostly bots.
