Monster Hunter Wilds was an unmitigated technical disaster with 4 minutes hunts

Monster Hunter Wilds was an unmitigated technical disaster with 4 minutes hunts

Starfield was a flop of titanic proportions that outed Bethesda's long running faults

The Horizon IP is stillbirth made intellectual property and astroturfed with no relevancy

Stalker 2 is a disappointing piece of shit with no soul that compares badly to real Stalker let alone Anomeme

Cyberpunk 2077 had a gutted release that turned into a meme, kinda recovered but never delivered on the marketing

Spiderman 2 was a huge underperformer that burned a massive IP while MCU compoetely deflated

Dragon's Dogma 2 was such an hilarious underperformer and disappointment it literally has no fans even among those who liked the original

Literally the only successful AAA games of 2020s. Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree are the only good games we got in the last 5 years.

What about BG3 and KC2?

AAA

Do you know what AAA means?

I still enjoyed Monhun. Stalker 2, DD2 and cyberpunk. Didn't play the others.
Elden ring is probably the best out of them but the others really aren't as bad as they're made out to be. Not that they're perfect, god no. They all got flaws, but still manage to be worth the money and time.

Next AC game when?

SotE

good

Yeah, it's made by a team in the hundreds, with supporting teams that make it in the thousand devs
It also means a certain budget

almost 500 workers

funded DEI organization

Yup. BG3 is AAA

It's truly the game of the decade, people still play and talk about Elden Ring for years to come

Games being complete shit doesn't mean they aren't successful. Cyberpunk 2077 being unplayable on release and still terrible after patches doesn't matter when there are no refunds on preorders.

That's fair. Of all the above mentioned Stalker 2 is the one I didn't bother to finish. Mostly because of the headless AI. Once they got rail guns the spawning and awareness bugs went from minor annoyance to just the worst shit ever.

True but you shouldn't say it here. Some anons are a little sensitive about ER's success.

Being successful can mean more than sells, usually involves good will and pr

Sounds to me like you've grown old and you hate every game that isn't fromslop.
Elden Ring is the worst game in the series btw.

Monster Hunter was fine, but too easy. Doesn't mean it's a bad game.
Starfield was a disaster.
The Horizon games are fun to chill and to play the game once, with no replayability.
Stalker 2 was good, the first game was a masterpiece and better overall, but once again it doesn't mean the game was trash.
Cyberpunk had a horrible launch, it's fine to get the game on sale these days and play it once.
Fun game with meh story.
Spiderman 2 had horrible characters with questionable and unnecesary woke propaganda in it, but the gameplay was fun.
And to this day I have no idea why people are complaining about DD2, DD1 was good but nowhere near the perfect game.
DD2 was good but also nowhere near the perfect game, if you liked DD1 you will like DD2 as well. I know I liked them both.

Sekiro > BB > DS1 > DeS > DS3 = DS2 = ER

sells

How much it sells*

Spiderman 2 was a huge underperformer that burned a massive IP while MCU compoetely deflated

The game sold 11 million copies, in what universe did it "underperform"?

Ask the average subhuman what they think of these games.
They're successful. Gamers lost.

Then it died and we never got updates on sales
Just like Dragon's Dogma 2
and Resident Evil 6 before it
because when marketing and hype clases with words of mouth, games start falling down and deflating like the Hindenburg

You forgot Botw and TotK.
Elden ring is great and all, but extremely one dimensional.

Woke garbage

Both Monhun and DD2 were updated just a few days ago anon.

success

flop

dont care

still pretty good in terms of modern FPS

dont care

dont care

dont care

Learn what underperformer means

1000053712.jpg - 919x1510, 936.59K

all shit
and ER was ruined with that blatant cashgrab DLC
an omen to their 2 coming turbo asset reuse titles

The Horizon games are fun to chill and to play the game once, with no replayability.

Fuck no. I don't care about the other games to a fuss over, but don't you dare claim the Horizon games are fun.
I played the first one back in '17 or '16, whenever the hell it was released. I was genuinely excited about the game and followed news about it. Back then, I wasn't a jaded little shit and had faith in the industry.
6 hours into the game and I was fucking pissed at how boring the game was, how the open world wasn't interesting, the dialogue and VA were worse than Silent Hill 1 and Resident Evil 1. I couldn't even refund that shit
Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the most boring and tedious open worlds to play. I had more fun with Watchdogs than I did with that piece of shit

you didnt play any of those games lmao

Take your meds

Cyberpunk is still a terrible game. It's Fallout 3, but in the future, and has most of the problems as your typical Besthda, post-Morrowind, "RPGs", and I'm using that word loosely

The only game I played on the list was Elden Ring, and I wouldn't call it a good game, especially when compared to previous from's games. The DLC was staigth up mediocre, and I finished it only out of buyer’s remorse.
To this day, I don't understand why the game is so popular. Aside from its art direction and overall lower difficulty, is really open world and marketing so effective on normalfags ?

What's the updated sale number then?
It's Resident Evil 6 again, anon.

Oh my mistake I thought you meant like a patch kind of update not a sales update.
No idea besides Capcoms earnings report

The reason people don't like DD2 is that at the surface it's a very polished and impressive tech demo with its details. Move pass that, and you'll realize how shallow the gameplay it is. I don't care how good the story is. If I wanted a good story, I'd watch a movie or read a book. I'm playing a GAME for the GAMEplay

Then it died and we never got updates on sales

My nigga, the 10 million sales mark is from April 1st. It just got the first update with around 500.000 concurrent players on steam on the weekend. DD2 got 3 million sales despite being a sequel to a genuinely small rpg from 12 years ago on a shoestring marketing budget.

The Horizon games are fun

Kill yourself

I find it the exact opposite for DD2. I liked DD1s gameplay AND story but I only really like DD2s gameplay. Most vocations feel a lot better by baking in a lot of the kit but I can hardly remember any of the NPCs or why I did anything.

It's literally the highest selling game on the console by a mile. Selling less than the original doesn't mean it "underperformed" when the install base is way lower

These threads where a third worlder tries to link a bunch of unrelated games into a story to force their own narrative make me more annoyed than any other kind of thread

Just goes to show how garbage the industry is since Elden Ring is the worst From Software game in 15 years.

From my experience

Wilds has literally no content despite releasing overpriced as fuck and requiring stupidly good hardware for muddy ps3 graphics. It could have been great by taking the best of earlier MonHun and delivering an aggressive combat design with bigger threats, and it clearly failed to deliver at least in its current, pre update expansion iteration

DD2 is just... boring. The actual combat is formulaic and there's nothing else there going on. You are an archer? shoot weakpoints. You are a warrior? charge attacks. You are a mage? you are firing at enemies busy dealing with your pawn The enemies rarely require much thought and make for engaging combat

Cyberpunk misses most of the RPG components

OP is certainly overly dramatic and baiting, but he is correct, we are halfway through the decade and a 9th gen that is almost ending with no other good and established titles that give their price worth other than Elden Ring, Armored Core VI, KCD2 and BG3.

Even Respawn failed to show anything worthwhile and the Jedi games were utterly mediocre to me.

Elden Ring is not a AAA game

literally no content

I don't get this meme. What do you mean with content in an MH game?

I fucking hate contrarians who pretend that Elden Ring is a bad game. Shit doesn't make you cool, nigger, you just end up looking like a fucking retard.

soulslop doesnt mean its a good game either

I keep saying the same thing about immersive sims, but people dont listen

I mean an endgame with hunts that require planning, coordination and feel like proper challenges
Arkveld and Gore Magala are the only hunts that feel a bit challenging for when they appear, and the base roster is weaker than most MH games, especially when the Hunter is stronger than ever.

I get that most of it was due to Iceborn reviewbombs when people were getting filtered, but Wilds is quite easier than base World in roster while also having more casual mechanics

So this means the game has no content because it has no endgame hunts?

3 million sales is not good, and the only thing that makes Dragon's Dogma "niche" is it getting half baked games

1730666146614.png - 1920x1952, 352.02K

Anon, what do you think niche and obscure mean?

I've never seen a more disingenuous image holy hell

Challenging and rewarding content in general
There's no incentive to farm parts, gear up, exploration is very streamlined, hunts are very fast thanks to the Seikret

So as you said, it has no content, right? Just need you to confirm that.

No argument

What do you think causes a game to be obscure and niche?
Dragon's Dogma 2 had massive marketing, every single big streamer, youtuber and twitch whore was contracted by Capcom. The game didn't fail because of lack of exposure. It failed because it wasn't good and had the same exact critical flaws the original had.

Don't forget Armored Core 6
and Ghost of Tsushima pc port

doesn't answer my question

Nice "argumet'

AC6 was a huge success tho

Hell yeah,me and all my friends on Anon Babble played it and thought it was great

I answered to your question, retard
A game is obscure when it gets less exposure and marketing
A game is niche when it belongs to a genre that doesn't appeal to players

Dragon's Dogma 2 isn't either, it's a meh game that is a few steps above Bethesdaslop but still a 7/10 at its best.

The excuse of Dogma being an underfunded black sheep goes out of the window when Dogma 2 fails to use its budget and resources wisely.

It's not that people don't know about it. It's that they tried it and decided it was nothing special

Armored Core 6

I hated how every enemy but bosses and some ACs was worthless fodder there

Yes

The imag is comparing oblivion to DD2
If it compared DD1 to oblivion it'd be fair but they didn't.
The market has grown exponentially since then. A PS2 greatest hit was only 200k sales. Now even for several Indy games 200k is a failure

Are you saying 3 million copies for an Armored Core game isn't a huge success?

If Dark Souls feels like an old book, Elden Ring feels like a modern movie
And with two upcoming FROM shovelwares, the future is bleak

Don't bother anon. These faggots have been doing this for months. Even when Capcom and Bamco put out reports saying they're a success they ignored it for now multiple years.
I even searched and got 7 different articles saying as such and they just said "doesn't count" each one.

Kirby sold 8 million on a single system so yea 3 million is fucking shit

Fortnite earned more with skins and it's a free game.
Your point?

Elden Ring? More like Elden Yawn, lmao

open world so bloated it’s basically Ubisoft slop with extra steps

”ooh look at muh freedom” yeah freedom to ride a horse through empty fields for 20 minutes while nothing happens

combat’s just Dark Souls again but now with a jump button, wow, innovation overload

bosses are either pushovers or bullshit gankfests with 50-hit combos and no openings, pick your poison

Malenia? Waterfowl Dance my ass, more like Waterfowl Fuck You, unreactable garbage

story’s a cryptic mess, George R.R. Martin clearly phoned in two sentences then dipped

”muh exploration” bro you’re just finding the same cave with the same 3 enemies and a reskinned item 80 times

performance on PC was a stuttering shitshow at launch, FromSoft still can’t optimize for shit

fanboys act like it’s the second coming but it’s just Souls DLC stretched into a $60 slog

Shadow of the Erdtree? $40 for more recycled assets and reused movesets, Miyazaki laughing to the bank

Sales numbers alone don't mean shit.
Armored Core game selling 3 million copies is a huge success, but if the new Zelda game only sells 5 million copies that would be a huge failure, even tho it sold more than Armored Core.
Armored Core 6 sold more than previous AC titles, and that's big.
If you really can't see the difference here and you only care for the sale numbers alone then we have nothing to discuss here.
Then in your opinion, Fortnite, Warzone, Apex and WoW might be the best games ever created.

Don't forget it's the easiest game in the series as well.
M-muh summons

Whilst all of those games sold well, I understand where you're coming from in that the majority have all had issues, technically or otherwise. It also makes no sense since we should be in a hardware era where none of these games should be unoptimized or unplayable. I can't even think of the best games in the past 5 years that jumped out at me except maybe BG3 and Elden Ring specifically. As a huge fan of DD, DD2 was an utter disappointment despite me putting in around 200 hours. There are niche indies that have stood out more like Dave the Diver, Balatro, Cult of the Lamb, Hades etc.

The other games that you play once and never pick up again like Yakuza etc are always fun but you know exactly what to expect so it's nothing new. I've also been playing Wilds with the title update which should have been in the base-game on release, in time the game may come around but drip-feeding a base game is ridiculous so you may as well just wait for the G expansion.

Armored Core could have sold more than 3 million if it was good and not just leeching off Fromsoftware name
Also without Fromsoftware name, Armored Core 6 would have done Daemon X Machina numbers, so saying that it is a "success", while technically true, is dishonest

It's not a game that stuck with a fanbase or that it is anywhere as influential or beloved as it could be

Then in your opinion, Fortnite, Warzone, Apex and WoW might be the best games ever created.

Don't forget FIFA, absolute masterpiece of a game.

Same goes for Zelda and Mario sales, remove Nintendo and it wouldn't sell shit
