This is ancient news. Final Fantasy has been dubbed in English first since FF8.

There are always going to be jp devs that focus on the domestic market. If the big studios decide that Hans, Emily and Moishe are more important then so be it, I have no problems not buying their shit anymore.
I did the same with almost every western studio. You also have the Koreans and Chinese who have been stepping up their game recently.

If you played Remake or Rebirth, you'd see, they're very, very Japanese. The mannerisms especially.

What? The target audience for FVII, as pointed out in OP's image, was for Japs. It gained worldwide popularity. Now instead of targeting Japs, they want to target the whole world somehow.

Nothing was dubbed until X and X's dub is bad enough there are memes about it because the audio speed was forced into the same animation length as the japanese. XII I believe was done in english first. Then there was Dragon Quest VIII where japs didn't even get a dub.

The next mainline Final Fantasy is definitely going towards facescan photorealism isn't it. Crapcom did it and went full westoid pandering and they're drowning in money now. There's no way Square won't follow suit.
