Theres nothing they can do to stop it

The translation layer would probably stop it from being hacked easily any time soon

literally at least 2 - 3 years away

Last time Yuzu popped up a year after the switch launched
now modders have a actual vendetta against Nintendo
it will take a year max and anything else is cope

Just like how the gamecube translation layer on the Wii kept it form being hacked.
Oh wait, it did the opposite.

Do you even understand how emulation works? You will need to create a virtual recreation of the console within the confines of your own hardware.

You will need an $8000 PC and keep it in a refrigerated room.

even if I had no interest in playing any switch 2 games. I would contribute to the open source code just to BTFO nintendo.

You will need an $8000 PC and keep it in a refrigerated room.

Step 1 is done then
Where do I redeem my Switch 2 emulator?

The GameCube was literally in the Wii anon

We already have a somewhat working PS4 emulator. There are plenty of corners you can cut.

Wii had gamecube hardware and they used same security for it except like backwards. I don't remember the specifics anymore but it was pretty funny at the time. That's why it got hacked in like 24 hours after release.
But anyway, you can literally hack the wii motherboard in pieces and make mini gamecube. It's usually used to make handheld gamecubes

IIRC the Wii was just a overclocked GameCube with a fancy co processor for the misc shit like the OS and motion sensing.

Where do I redeem my Switch 2 emulator?

Wait around for a decade. I hear PS4 emulation is "playable" now. lmao

Didn't need to wait a decade for the Switch 1 emulator switchsnoy
Stop being butthurt. If you have nothing of value to say then fuck off and go play some vidya oh wait you have nogaems to play

Only if the devs stay silent about it

Nintendies keep seething and coping
I will play Dong Kong Banananza before release on my Switch 2 emulator, at pure 4K and 60FPS

Depends entirely on if their entire HW documentation leaks.
again.

The entire switch library can literally be emulated on phones, anon.
The switch 2 will be easy to emulate on anything that could play games like a PS4 could.
You underestimate how underpowered the even the switch 2 will be. That 4k will be almost impossible to achieve on anything 3D with those specs.

Didn't need to wait a decade for the Switch 1 emulator switchsnoy

Retard doesn't understand how emulation works lmao

tech illiterate zoomer acting like he knows anything

Yuzu is the only real Switch emulator because it can boot into Horizon OS and do system menu functions. Ryujinx can't do this it just fakes it until it makes it.

we already know how ARM processors and NVIDIA ampere GPUs work
it's gonna use the same horizon OS again
there's really not a whole lot of work that needs to be done to boot games, the challenge will be to make them run fast

I will play Dong Kong Banananza before release on my Switch 2 emulator, at pure 4K and 60FPS

Kek'd

tech illiterate zoomer acting like he knows anything

The ironing. Stay thirsty for those sweet Nintendo games lmao

Wasn't the new switch going to have denuvo for its games? There's nobody cracking it anymore, right?

You forget that Nintendo might've purposely add weird shit to make emulation more difficult. I could see them being so petty.

They're using new proprietary graphics API. Not NVK or Vulkan.

PC trannies are truly seething

The switch 2 is not getting emulated until at least 2028

yuzu and ryujinx don't emulate APIs, they emulate the GPU
which might end up being too slow when you essentially have a 3050 mobile in there

Turns out that it's easy to emulate 500 euros android tablets.
Who would have thought.

They emulate the NVN using Vulkan or OpenGL. Switch 2 is not using NVN except for backwards compat. They're using new proprietary API just like PS4 and PS5.

The Switch 1 was emulated immediately because it was known technology (the Tegra X1), and because nvidia was too stupid to write a secure bootloader.
None of these things are true for the switch 2.

how will indie games run on switch2 without vulkan or opengl? either its supported or theres some kind of translation

They emulate the NVN using Vulkan or OpenGL

no, they don't emulate NVN, they emulate a maxwell GPU directly
NVN (or vulkan) sends commands to the hardware and this is what they intercept
vulkan and opengl should still be supported as second-class options, it's just a straightforward port from the NVIDIA PC drivers
but that doesn't matter for emulators anyway since they don't emulate specific APIs

They should call it Yutwu

It's actually hilarious how pc supposedly has 99% of all video games, but they will beg 24/7 to get the babygames from the fisher price tablet lmao
Turns out literally everyone wants to play nintendo games.

It’s more like it’s easy to emulate systems that you have full technical documentation of before release. The switch 1 was extremely easy to hack at release, which is what let people dump the full switch BIOS. They fixed that in the first year, and you needed to use a mod chip on any system sold after mid-2018. Nintendo has definitely put a lot more effort into security this time, so it will take a lot longer to find a backdoor , which will delay all of the things that precede emulator development.

Tendies are gonna freak when this comes out

Might be the first time I'm not emulating a nintendo console because there is quite literally nothing I want to play kek.

Mario Kart 12 Deluxe Platinum Edition
KEK who the fuck wants to emulate that

Inb4 it's hacked within days through the switch compatibility layer

what if the gpu is some kind of new custom modification of an existing nvidia design, thats made to work in an unknown/strange way.
that way if a game uses nintendos proprietary graphics api to send commands, those same commands wouldnt quite work on a consumer gpu. but the opengl/vulkan ones would otherwise those games would break but first party games could evade emulation for a while. just an idea

He doesn't know

It's actually hilarious how pc supposedly has 99% of all video game

Yes, but we want 100% of all videogames, and we will have them, as should every gaming device.
Exclusivism is autism.

shadps4 isn't an emulator

Yeah, this. Nothing about the Switch 2 hardware will make it hard to emulate. The SoC is almost the same as the one in an NVIDIA development board that already runs Linux and Android. The GPU already has open source drivers. This is going to be like the GBA or Switch 1 where people already know a lot about the hardware before its released.

The big hurdle isn't technical, it's that because of the Yuzu and Ryujinx lawsuits, a lot of talented people who would have done it have been taken out of the emulation community. And new talented people will be afraid to step up in case the same thing happens to them (especially if they are American.)

First one is true.

The switch 1 was extremely easy to hack at release, which is what let people dump the full switch BIOS.

Even if there isn't an easy method that normal people can use to play games, that doesn't mean it won't be hacked to a point where a talented person could dump encryption keys and BIOS (like the twiizers attack.)

Yeah okay. What if it's just an off-the-shelf part. We're gone from the era where it's worthwhile making truly custom GPUs for games consoles.

bloodborne emulator for the bloodborne machine

what if the gpu is some kind of new custom modification of an existing nvidia design, thats made to work in an unknown/strange way

even if there's a few unknown registers or methods that's still easier than figuring out a fully custom GPU like you had to do back in the old days
NVIDIA isn't going to create a new architecture for nintendo, it's just ampere, allegedly with a few ada backports as well

just an idea

i wouldn't get any ideas if you don't understand how this works

they brought out the switch 2 with fucking mainline kirby and donkey kong games. no mainline zelda, no mainline mario, the new pokemon and metroid games aren't exclusive to switch 2 so they'll be playable Day 1 on emulator. by the time a new zelda and mario come out, an emulator will be able to play them, count on it.

Well not really a truly custom gpu, just one that is just different enough that people wouldnt immediately know how to emulate it properly. but honestly probably not worth the effort/cost but who knows, if you want to stop emulation but keep it easy to develop on theres not much else you can do

its not a new architecture, basically obfuscation. if it was free to do and it hampered emulation you would do it so mechanically it makes sense

It's not an emulator in the true sense which is why it has low requirements.

Can't wait to hear retarded poorfags yelling "THANKS 4 BETATESTING LMAO" and showing their half broken emulator running at like 5 fps.

does it make you mad that i played the 5 switch games worth a damn for free and had a better experience than (you) + mods

lol i mean i guess NVIDIA could shuffle some IDs around to confuse emu developers for a while
but there's a really obvious problem with that and it's the switch 1 to switch 2 translation layer, you already know how the switch 1 GPU works so you can disassemble the backwards compatibility layer and figure out how the new (hypothetically unknown) architecture maps to the old maxwell architecture

emulator running at like 5 fps.

so true to the Switch 2 experience?

Didn't Nintendo already nutshot the Citra/Yuzu team? Don't get me wrong I expect a early emulation, but Nintendo probably already pinkertonned up the ones involved in Yuzu as "People of Interest" in preparation of the Switch 2 launch so i think it gonna be a different/new one rather then Citra3/Yuzu2.

What, are you gonna edit the readme? Design the logo? What can you contribute?

i will not pay 450 for a tablet

i will not pay 90 dollars for games

i will not buy a 100 dollar 480p camera for voice chat

i will not pay for Nintendo online

i will not be content with playing GC games at 1080p in 2025

I will emulate your games

i will run them at 4k/120 fps

i will use whatever voice chat i want

i will mod in CJ

i will be doing all of this for free

thank you very much

You will always want what you don't have.

UHH BASED?

Spends past week crying about Switch 2

B-B-BUT I NEED TO PLAY SWITCH 2 GAMES I NEED THEM

lol
Prime 4 is already native 4K60, retard.

well the idea is that NVN/vulkan/opengl send commands in a currently known way, and you dont break that.
but you then introduce a new api for switch2 that sends different commands that are similar but only this gpu can interpret completely correctly because of some alterations. i dont really know how difficult it is to change the chip design to alter the command processor but it seems like probably the easiest place to make incompatibilities without changing the actual design of the gpu which is massive and could affect performance
people have had trouble getting low level machine learning stuff to run on amd because their commands are so poorly documented, so this would be like a version of that

Tegra X1 is an off the shelf SoC that was already used in Nvidia Shield in 2015. It had a huge vulnerability that was researched and documented years before Switch 2 even hit the shelves.
Switch 2 uses a completely custom SoC that will have to be studied from scratch after the launch.
t. the smartest emufag
Jesus fucking Christ

Prime 4 is already native 4K60, retard.

Show me gameplay on your switch 2 faggot.
Until then it's just empty promises. Remember sony advertised 8k gaming too for ps5, and it can't do even 4k native, it has to use upscaling.
What makes you think a small $500 device can do 4k native in any game?

but you then introduce a new api for switch2 that sends different commands that are similar but only this gpu can interpret completely correctly because of some alterations

like i said this isn't that hard to figure out
you know what the output is supposed to look like, you know what commands are supposed to exist (because like you said it can't be a complete redesign), it's just a matter of some trial and error
it might set you back a month but so what? i don't think nintendo would consider it worth the effort when they know emulation is inevitable anyway

people have had trouble getting low level machine learning stuff to run on amd because their commands are so poorly documented

that's not why some ML stuff struggles on AMD
AMD GPUs are very well documented, you can go and download the RDNA4 ISA reference manual right now

Tendies have a internet wide melty because people rightfully make fun of their overpriced tablet and 90 dollar games

N-NNO YOU ARE CRYING

seethe and dilate

completely custom

No.

Snoy's have an internet wide melty because their nemesis's new console already blows the PS5 out of the water in terms of games

N-NO YOU SEETHE AND DILATE

Thanks for the laughs.

Snoy

like clockwork

I hate nintendo!

I can't wait to play all their new games

??????

i just want to download them over and over again so they lose money

Based

Are there any games that Yuzu and Ryujinx can't play?

Yeah, it's their MO. Always lick the boot of their favourite megacorp no matter how much it fucks them, defend it ceaselessly, deride their enemies at all hours, day and night, get baited by obvious truths, and never ever think critically or even critiquing the products laid out before them. Snoy's really are pathetic.

From what I recall yes theres a lot of technical info for amd but theres enough not documented that you still have to rely on the behavior of their driver that outputs the correct buffers and its very difficult to do yourself manually, so its that problem taken further to make emulation difficult, but with even less documentation. Just to illustrate that there are difficulties even interfacing with modern user friendly gpus manually at a low level, before you even get to emulation
I think if its done seriously it could cost emulator devs up to a year or more, and the early life of the system is extra important anyway. its probably just quite costly to make these kinds of changes and to get it all working right

Yeah, it's their MO. Always lick the boot of their favourite megacorp no matter how much it fucks them, defend it ceaselessly, deride their enemies at all hours, day and night, get baited by obvious truths, and never ever think critically or even critiquing the products laid out before them.

this strawman I invented in my head is such a hypocrite!

I hate Nintendo's business practices, but some of their games are good. If there's a Switch 2 emulator, I will be playing, and I will act smug about it on Anon Babble. If there isn't, I have plenty of other games in my backlog.

all their new games

I usually want to play 3-5 of their games per generation. I don't wanna buy an entire new console just to use it for ~100 hours and never touch it ever again.

that there are difficulties even interfacing with modern user friendly gpus manually at a low level

no there isn't
for AMD specifically there's a fully featured open source stack from top to bottom
(pretty sure you can just run that on the PS4 without any changes)

I think if its done seriously it could cost emulator devs up to a year or more

not by just changing how commands are submitted/interpreted
you would have to alter the actual functionality of the GPU, the types of texture/vertex formats it uses, the draw modes it supports, etc
there's no way NVIDIA would spend time to make a custom design for nintendo just to stop emulation, they already have ampere which is battle-tested, performant and cheap

new games

Nah, I just need to make sure I can keep playing MH3U, MH4U, and MHGU for the rest of eternity. Shame MH went to shit after it came to PC. I guess Rise/Sunbreak were okay, but god damn are World and Wilds bad.

Their open source stack is pretty broken and most notably the drivers are buggy and crash, which is why people cant rely on them and have to figure out their own manual methods. Also theres still binary blobs cause they dont give away everything. I dont mess with it but theres bad sentiment about it out there for these reasons
I don't think it's necessary to make the most significant changes to the architecture to stop emulation, unless youre wanting to prevent it for a really long time. obfuscating the interface with internal interpreter changes and a new driver api is definitely going to be way harder to figure out than any purely software based methods, and the only next step is a whole new architecture which is out of the question. well have to see how different the chip ends up being idk what info there is yet and if theres any obvious attempt to make it hard to emulate but that is rare these days for good reason

if thats the case then why does every game on the switch thats not mhgu suck dick

Their open source stack is pretty broken and most notably the drivers are buggy and crash

This is just false. The Steam Deck relies on the open source stack. PC Linux gamers can freely switch between the open source stack and the proprietary stack (AMDGPU PRO) but most will never need to even think about the proprietary stack because the open source stack just works.

Also theres still binary blobs cause they dont give away everything.

Unless you're talking about firmware, you're lying. There are no "binary blobs" in amdgpu or RADV.

they will sue because devs are retards who post their info online

You mean like the backlash from the price of the switch 2?
Face it, Snoys are the only ones that are loyal to a fault

until a lawyer comes knocking maybe

He's already contributing by making you seethe.

NOOOOOOO
AAAIIIIIIEEEEEEEE

It'll be open source. Like Ryujinx and Yuzu, someone else (or the same people under a different pseudonym) will just pick it back up under a new name.

Switch 2 games are going to have the latest version of Denuvo DRM

People have hopefully learned their lessons after Yuzu and Ryujinx too, and won't go around selling patreon subscriptions or advertising actual piracy in public chat rooms.

Buyfags can't get this ass rated
Right?

Tendies will be paying $80 to have Denuvo steal their bing bing wahoo frames

That's hilarious

I hate women

I can't wait to fuck them

Denuvo anti-emulation on Switch

I remember this being announced for Switch 1, but was it ever used in a real game and did it work? I'll believe it when I see it.

dragxdrive on deck NEVER EVER

theres plenty info about amd driver problems etc despite the open sourcing, it doesnt all work just fine, people have to workaround things. no problem with amd for gaming but thats besides the point
I think the confusion is coming from thinking out amd for games vs as a chip/machine learning and everything else. For example more what im talking about, amd only began to release the source and docs for an important component recently phoronix com/news/AMD-MES-Docs-And-Source-Code
which is firmware but i dont see why that changes the point. the driver is part software part firmware and the details get more important the more you try to interface at a bare level, not just with graphics apis.

same, i actually never game nintendo a single cent, only had a used 3ds and a used wii, both on homebrew, and currently emulating switch and wiiu kek

Here piggy piggy piggy.

PC chads don't beg.
you beg corporations for ports of old games so they can sell them to you again for full price.
We take.
We develop.
We innovate.
We Mod.

While an emulator will appear sooner or later, how can this dude claim to have one when the console itself is not available yet.

Switch still doesn't have a software exploit for hacking to this day.
They're gonna have to brute force their way into making an emulator for it, 5 years at the earliest but could be as many as 10 years with the emulation scene having taken a major hit after Nintendo worked with the fbi to go after yuzu and ryujinx

doesnt recognise bait for (you)

Maybe one day you’ll understand how streamers operate anon
Correct, did you not see the treehouse chat box
I hope one day you Snoys will finally call out your favourite company

He was having a schizophrenic breakdown in that thread because people called him poor

That shit was funny
What some niggas won't do to pretend they have the upper hand

how can this dude claim to have one when the console itself is not available yet.

Tbf this famously happened with the GBA because of a leaked dev kit, leaked tech demos and because the GBA had a simple design based around the ARM7TDMI and a PPU that was kind of similar to Nintendo's previous PPUs.
Not saying the same will happen with the Switch 2 obviously, but it's interesting to think about. Reverse engineering can be powerful, especially with modern day tools. You don't need a cracked console to write an emulator. You don't even need the console.

You don't need a cracked console to write an emulator. You don't even need the console.

LMOA

You don't need a cracked console to write an emulator. You don't even need the console.

These days it takes like 10 years to get a decent emulator if you can't crack the console.

Do you have so little to play on PC that you have to beg for an emulator before the system us even out?

How long it takes is purely a random function of when a talented autist will just decide to do it. You might have nothing for 10 years, then George Moralis decides to make shadPS4 and you have something. He wasn't working on it the whole time.

now modders have a actual vendetta against Nintendo

Holy autism

I doubt we'll get within the first year of launch, but yeah it's pretty much inevitable.

What a sad life. Sorry, Mohammed.

SMTV and XCX Remastered were a lot of fun. I think those were the only 2 Switch games I emulated and actually finished

lol

suichi.png - 1242x1105, 265.4K

You guys posting self owns now?

Holy autism

How do you think emulators get made?

The world where there's an early Switch emulator is better for everyone: PC gamers and Nintendo-loving faggots alike. You can't let Nintendo get too cocky or they'll keep selling you less for more, keep doing scummy shit like timed exclusives, keep making you re-buy old games and so on. Nintendo aren't going do die if there's an emulator, but they need to learn they compete with piracy like everyone else. I just want what's best for everyone.

I like how the playtime suggests these ganes weren't worth playing g in the first place.

does it also mean mario wonder is worth playing?

posts less than a minute apart

You got me there, retard

What are we currently using for regular Switch?
Sudachi, the Yuzu fork?

everyone is sony

Very cute.

theres nothing they can do to stop it

I mean, threatening to sue the living shit out of the devs qualifies as "something" in my book lol

"eric" spammer is one of Anon Babbles most mentally ill spammers. best to report and move on.

They do not forgive and they do not forget! Ebin!

MODS?????
FBI?????
STOP HIM!!!!

Switch 2 uses a completely custom SoC

no, the T239 used by switch 2 is a variant of the T234

Ryujinx doesn't track playtime properly, it says I have 2 hours in XCX:DE when I have 23 hours according to my savefile.

Maybe Switch 2 emulators might inevitably happen but seeing how no one knows how to keep their mouths shut online, I'm sure that whatever Switch 2 emulator exists will get killed by retards publicly boasting how they're using it for piracy and get the thing C&D'd in record time.

it’s not custom, it’s just custom

Lol

Thats what people keeping saying about every new console since the first emulator. But this time for sure their new security measures will do the job

You are just seething you got exposed, eric
