worlds was death by a thousand cuts for me, every neat thing was bogged down by five terrible things about it. it would be easier to list the things i prefer about Wilds
Monster variety is vastly improved
I don't like that some of the fights are short but tempered endgame monsters are good fun and there's a greater variety compared to World
Mantles are smoother to use in Wilds, I can use and remove them freely thanks to the new shortcut and being able to use it with my weapon out. I get to see my hunter more rather than the stupid tiled black hoodie
Mantles in general don't "suck to have" anymore but this would involve a long drawn out autistic explanation on hunter power vs monster power between games and how the differences in Wilds changes how you interact with the mantles even with the ones that came back from World
All maps are better than any of the 5th gen maps, IMO World and Rise were both pretty weak compared to previous gens for different reasons
Better endgame than world but honestly this is like comparing dogshit to catshit but it's still a leg up.
Monster fights are just better than World's in general, yes even better than Iceborne
Wilds made all my favorite weapons not feel like dogshit anymore
I like the pop-up camp system
Walk-n-talks are a pain but its at least better than unskippable cutscenes and forced investigations (Iceborne story mitigated it heavily but Guiding Lands brought back that same tedium anyway)
Focus mode and wounding are still better that clutch claw considering the worst complaint people have with wounds is that they make hunts easier
