What monitor does Anon Babble use to game?

AOC 27' 1440p, 144hz
acer
2 ThinkVision L1900Ps side by side.
secondary monitors are just some old samsungs from like 2010
An old-ish office monitor
ASUS 24" 1080p 75hz
will never upgrade.
will forever be happy.
my eyes can't see beyond 1080p 75hz anyway.
fuck you
Soon it will be rog swift pg32ucdm OLED that I'm buying soon, probably in a week. Before this and right now it's the PG32UQX mini-LED that I picked up in 2021.
Cooler master 27” 2k 100hz
43" commercial signage display. It's the only way to get a monitor without nigger "smart TV" features, because all consumer monitors are built for legitimate morons.
27 1080 100hz
Acer rs272
Sorry ,didn’t mean to tag you . Please Forgive me.
MSI G244F E2
LG C2 42"
I have a 1080p 60hz TN screen from like 2012
what should I upgrade to
Am buying a 144hz 1440p monitor. Any flaws I need to look out for?
tattoos
piercings
israeli flag
Just awful.
The only potential concern I will have moving over to OLED is VRR flicker. Why it's not talked about with OLED users on Anon Babble is something that eludes me. I guess some of them don't use G-Sync? I hope it's not as bad people are saying on forums. But It probably is. Like some shills on reddit literally tell people to turn off g-sync to solve it :/
I want tear free gaming and not to deal with a flickering OLED if the frame rate conditions are less than ideal.
I use the thing I bought on Amazon that had the prettiest thumbnail image. I forgot what it's called.
Newest one is a Gigabyte M27Q X, it's 27" 1440p 240hz, it's good, especially for the price.
Older one is now used as a second monitor and is a Dell S2721DGFA 27" 1440p 165hz monitor, also very good.
Be sure to get low input lag (this is usually a given but just make sure) and low response time (this isn't always a given, you don't want disgusting ghosting, you'll regret your decision forever).
Also imo 27" is definitely the sweet spot for PC gaming, perfect size. Beyond this is too big, below is too small.
Get 4k oled instead.
t. 2k ips
No more monitors, a cheap 43" $500 4K LED TV
below is too small
shut you dumb bitch i got 24" and i have to make my video player window small because it's too fuckin big and hurts my eyes at normal sitting distance
Don't do this unless you enjoy burn in and constantly worrying about it and doing stupid shit like hiding your taskbar screen etc. Such a retarded tech, it's going to die so fast, but still funny that some retards threw their money at it.
I used to be a 27 fag till I realised 32 was actually good. Supposedly the objective argument is 27 is more competitive focused and it's the only size before you've too much screen real estate in view obscuring you from playing your best..
Gigabyte M27Q. Thought about buying an OLED, but not i’m not dropping $700+ on a monitor that I have to babysit by doing shit like auto-hiding the Windows taskbar and setting a screensaver to activate every 5 minutes to avoid burn in. Windows is still a fucking disaster in 2025 when it comes to proper HDR so yeah going to use my “shitty” IPS monitor in SDR a little while longer. I also can’t be bothered pouring more money into this hobby when 9 out of 10 PC ports are broken on release or even 3 months later after multiple patches.
a 22 inch 1080p samsung one from 2010 and dell 1080p of the same size from 2012
OLED is great because it makes the good monitors much cheaper.
a xiaomi incurved screen
27" LG GP850-B 1080p 180hz
55" Sony Bravia X90L 4K 120hz
AW3225QF
It is breddy gud
An acer 144hz TN, its nice.
I have an ips as a second monitor.
Competitive gamers are at 24". Honestly even 27" is slightly too big for me for optimum play because I've watched some of my gameplay videos back and I've noticed that frequently I don't notice enemies when they're on the far left/right of my screen if I'm looking around quickly. Do whatever you enjoy most though of course, if that's 32" then so be it.
Thinking about getting an OLED monitor but I'm worried about the burn-in, is it really that big of a deal?
I can't imagine playing on 32" -- unless you move the screen further away but then what's the point? Like 27" already seems so big.
is it really that big of a deal?
nope
Yeah I should have put that 27 is probably the max people will play at without potentially feeling like they're losing their edge. I just have put the screen a little further back and my chair much closer when playing. It's kind of self defeating but I just like the big screen for casual gaming. I'm not sure if it's made me play worse. I'd probably need to play quake live back to back with monitors to gauge whether this matters or not in regards to tracking. I generally don't think CS matters that much.
Literally that one. 15 years later it's still the best.
is it really that big of a deal?
yep
is it really that big of a deal?
maybe
27" Asus 1440p 240hz oled
55" LG C3
my pc is hooked up to both but I use the monitor more
no, ignore coping poorfags. oled is absolutely worth it. you'll never go back once you try it
but I'm worried about the burn-in,
Only if you play serious MMOs that will have you spending hours of time in RAIDs and it's your main daily game. Some MMOs require 7-8 hour time investment, that's the good amount to put the durability to the test. Or you do lots of production work related to your work profession.
LG C1 42 inch for modern games
20 inch Panasonic CRT TV for retro games
they have tech built into the monitors to refresh them every four hours for five minutes to prevent burn in, it's that dumb. People are recommended to not use max brightness with them and not do work related tasks like Word, Excel etc because the letters will burn in. Like imagine feeling worried about just using a fucking monitor normally for productivity task, or being worried about your taskbar/background burning in so you autohide them/use a screen saver, or being worried that you forgot to turn off your monitor and left it on a text screen because you left your house for a few hours, it's so fucking stupid. Personally I don't think this is worth it at all but marketed morons exist. Great though, the existence of OLED meant I could buy a really good IPS 27" 240hz 1440p IPS panel for £290
21.5" Acer KA222Q B
1080 is the superior res
21.5" is the superior size
anything more or less isnt for me
The burn in risk is really not that bad anymore. What I mention earlier in the thread is the real problem that the marketers have gotten away with.
youtube.com
VRR flicker is unsolved and does not matter if you have the best screen or not.
21.5"
muh nigga.
i'm stuck on 24" resizing windows smaller and shit
VRR flicker is unsolved and does not matter if you have the best screen or not
SHUT UP GOY REEEEE SHUT IT DOWN DONT TELL THE GOYCATTLE THIS REE SHUT IT DOWN OY VEY MUH SHEKELS REEEE
I have a 48" LG CX and a PG32UCDM connected to my PC/Consoles.
what do you mean?
Burn in is a meme, vrr flicker is the real problem and probably why i will never get one.
A god awful piece of absolute dog shit that's barely good enough to qualify as e-waste and I get autistic-ally angry at anyone who tells me I can do better by screaming that they don't need more.
Naw just kidding I use a gp27u
wait til they rebrand OLEDs to some other made-up tech name
This one, got it for free. I don’t know if it is good or bad
a thoudsand dollar screen
yes keep waging in that cage dumb goy for your overpriced retard-coomscreen
ITT
this is fine
The tech reviewers got their hush up money to never speak of VRR flicker. They knew the safety of no burn in was a good cover up operation :^)
It was $600, stay mad.
retard, you could buy a whole pc for that money
Or buy a Switch 2 with 2 games with that money.
I have a LG C3 48'' tv
I prefer my 24'' led 1080p screen
My GPU alone cost more than that.
Typical dell it seems, I have a pair of p2722h I got free. Clearly office screens, they are pretty shitty for an ips.
I ordered an MSI QD OLED 27 inch 1440p monitor. It was supposed to arrive last Friday, I'm pretty sure the brownies that picked it up from the Amazon warehouse just stole it immediately since the ID the courier company gave me was never valid and I lost track of it as soon as it left Amazon and now I need to wait until Sunday to refund it and I'm probably gonna end up losing the ability to buy it with the 350 Euro discount. I hate Amazon and I hate the non white subhumans who deliver their shit, fuck you
what a dumbfuck goycattle
Maybe. But I'm happy with my rig. Are you happy with yours?
I think the worst part of the whole flicker fiasco its that the OLED zealots made mini-LED irrelevant as a competitor by being so loud about their love for the technology that manufacturers just don't want to produce high end monitors anymore with that technology. So we're stuck with this flawed tech that is going to take time to improve.
Innocn, Cooler Master and Red Magic are making good FALD miniLED monitors. All within the 570-1000+ dimming zone ranges.
Is the flicker that bad/prevalent? Why don't OLED TV's have it?
There's also Samsung's VA monitors that all have local dimming features. The contrast is even better than the IPS monitors but Samsung's QC is still shoddy.
They do. If you have an OLED TV with VRR you're going to have flicker.
Why is FALD such a marketing meme for retards?
I can't imagine playing on 32"
You get used to it real fast. It just becomes your new baseline for what a monitor should be, and anything smaller starts feeling a bit pathetic. I'm actually considering going bigger for my next display, although unfortunately anything bigger than 32" tends to have bloated TV-oriented firmware.
I can't speak for competitive though. I almost exclusively play single player games.
I guess they want better than VA or IPS contrast but without a screen that burns in.
spoken like somebody who's never tried an oled. it's a nonissue.
Okay.
it's way overstayed. I've never gotten it outside of loading screens and even when it does happen it's so subtle I literally laugh when I notice it because of how big of a deal retards make it out to be. it's just more anti-oled poorcope
that's on my monitor, on my tv I've never seen it happen at all (I barely use the TV for games tho, can't say it never happens)
overstated*
23.8"
1080p
60Hz
I'd better not be like input lag where low IQ people don't notice it. My non OLED screen also has vrr flicker and yeah it's mostly just loading screens on some games, I remember having it a lot on FF9 on regular gameplay though
lmao
literally a nothing-burger
Where do you see the Israeli flag? She's just wearing a sue storm onesuit
A BenQ Zowie Xl2731 27" 1080p 144hz monitor as my main display.
My second monitor is of the same manufacturer and product line, but it's the 24" display.
metaphorically an everything-pizza
just dont have dogshit framerate
55 Inch LG C4 OLED.
Given the hardware Anon Babble uses that is an impossible ask.
They could use a ps5 pro. Would be an upgrade over their rx 480/10 series third worlder PCs with decade old hardware.
1080p 144hz monitor with fucked up speakers.
High framerate is a meme.
32" LG monitor - 4k 60hz(lol)
I mistakenly upgraded to 4k when I had a 2070 so modern games didn't run well even to 60fps without me downing the settings a lot. Now I have a 5090 just waiting to see if I can get a deal on one that is 120/144hz and good quality picture
Problem with 4k is that you'll be locked to 90/80 tier gpus forever. But if you can afford it, go for it.
a 20$ ips from goodwill's ebay store, basic but 1080p and manufactured less than 10 years ago.. it was a bit of a steal of course, most of their selection is generic tn office panels. had to rebuild my multi monitor home office setup on the cheap.
50% of the market share
it's not going anywhere, you dumbfuck consumerist cattle, same as 4060 and 8gig Vram
I mean as someone who has a 4k monitor personally, I think most of the issue is that 4k doesn't really add much to games.
It's nice for getting work shit done though. Video editing, etc.
Yup, this is what I tell my friends. 4k looks insanely good but in order to keep running modern games you'll have to empty out your bank accounts for top tier hardware and that if they don't want to spend 2k+ on a gpu to stick to 1080p/1440p. Unfortunately I can't go back to 1440p and definitely not 1080p so I'm locked into this arms race unless I only play old games
lmao
post arm
Massively overblown as long as you aren't stupid. Use autohiding Taskbar and desktop icons and turn sleep on the monitor on within 5-10 minutes and that alleviates the worst of it. It's not hard. I've been using an oled monitor for 2 years with 0 noticeable burn in and an oled TV for 5, same situation.
Fuck's sake, I had just mentally talked myself into dropping $1500 dollarydoos to get a 4k OLED screen and now I'm hesitating again. What's a good IPS I can get instead to replace my current 1080p 144hz?
?
I'm My Dell was very good: youtu.be
yeah bro, just hide your taskbar and all your desktop icons and change your wallpaper daily and set you monitor to sleep if it's inactive for 6 seconds and
lmao this is maximum fucking copium. Any tech that needs this many caveats is still a prototype
If you already blew the money on the 4k display, just use it, if you didn't
Don't fucking buy a 4k display for gaming.
It's stupid.
Buy a 4k display if you want to actually work on shit and actually NEED fine detail and space.
Recommend me a monitor that has decent HDR, Anon Babble
You even needing to think about such retarded shit is enough of a reason why OLEDs are dogshit
Paying 2x as much as a good IPS all the while needing to baby sit the fucking thing like its a retarded toddler.
Typical dell, as in the majority of what is produced and sold, ie office supplies.
I wasn't talking about their top line gamer stuff.
So what's my good 1440p 144hz alternative, senpai?
I use an Alienware Ultrawide QHD 1440p monitor.
It's a fantastic monitor that I really like using for everything, but as far as vidya is concerned most vidya doesn't actually support ultrawide resolutions.
Some do, like Cyberpunk, and it's pretty cool to play games in native 4k ultrawide, but honestly most games I have to run in windowed 2k or something.
just don't have dog shit framerate
Kind of an impossible ask with todays games. Fluctuations are impossible to avoid because of jeet devs. Like this shouldn't be a problem anyway and the solution should not be to turn off G-sync and freesync. So yeah OLEDs suck when they're basically unable to handle harder tasks for VRR. The ink blacks and infinite contrast is just not worth the hassle until the tech is improved. Anon Babble and Anon Babble combined fleeced many people.
Has anyone got a good monitor that has built in KVM? Would be handy to just plug my worklaptop into one of the USB-C ports and be able to use the one keyboard and mouse instead of fucking around switching cords
Anything oled basically. There is a reason why the DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 is a tier above DisplayHDR 1000 specification.
Problem with KVM displays is how much juice they can actually feed your connected devices.
coping fucking faggots, it's worth the slight inconvenience. if you had a higher iq you'd just have an ips and an oled and only turn the oled on for gaming.
it's no coincidence that anyone shitting on oled has never tried one, and everyone with an oled says they'll never go back.
I'm just here to do my duty as a dipshit who got into 4k early, for gaming, to inform people that it's not really all that gr8 so people don't make really expensive poor decisions.
that s my second monitor
its ass tho
I'm very happy with my XG27AQDMG
27" 1440p 240hz OLED
if you have an Nvidia card you can use dldsr to make it look 90% as good as an actual 4k monitor
I saw a nice MSI one that claimed the passthrough was 90w which would be plenty, but I also don't want to spend $1600 on a monitor, so I was wondering if there's some decent mid-range options
Slight inconvenience
Just turn it off when you're not playing a video game
You have got to be the most retarded faggot i've ever seen
If I was going to buy this, I might as well buy the model I was originally looking at which was an actual 4k 32'' OLED for an extra $100
I've been using an oled monitor for 2 years with 0 noticeable burn in
noticeable
lmao
and how often do you check?
i recommended it since you said $1500 above and this is less than half of that
Remember the rule of Anon Babble: it is a meme until it is affordable for chinese cyercafes.
what is retarded about having a dedicated monitor for media? you have literally never gamed on an oled therefor your opinion is meaningless. it's worth it, everybody who has an oled agrees it's worth it. keep crying like a pathetic broke bitch though, faggot
dollarydoos brother, that LG retails for about $1500 here. I was thinking of a decent alternative in the realm of 800-900, like a Samsung G7
Mini led monitors also suffer from flickering when local dimming is on. Mini LED TVs don’t suffer from this though.
Even if you have stable framerates you will still get flicker. My GPU is better than yours as well probably.
OLED burn-in scares me. I'd like to keep my taskbar and web browser for hours at a time.
it's a nonissue.
Even RTINGs top listed screens have still displayed the issue. It's a universal issue and won't be solved anytime soon. Especially with all the top tech tubers putting out videos like OLED RUINED ME *onions face* but never once mentioning that their monitors flickered because they didn't notice it or were paid to shut up about it. Anon BabbleOLED would probably just get your thread deleted. All the artificial focus went to burn in instead of this. It will finally be socially acceptable to talk about VRR flicker on the subreddit and for video reviewers/unboxers when the companies finally give the green light and announce that they have new features to stop it. The reviewers will be all like: 'well we've heard quite a bit online about the problems' Until then the naysayers are spreading FUD
32" LG ultragear 165hz QHD, got it for 200 bucks.
you have no idea what vrr flicker even looks like because you have never tried an oled. don't worry ranjesh, one day oled will come to your village too.
but never once mentioning that their monitors flickered because they didn't notice it
It only happens when you use GSync/Freesync correct? That's what VRR is? Dunno about y'all but I don't use that garbage input laggy tech so maybe not everyone was using it?
you have no idea what vrr flicker even looks like
youtube.com
this video is pretty self explanatory retarded faggot, you're just butt hurt because you bought an overpriced prototype tech with more negatives than positives
why would i be butthurt about enjoying my vidya in the best quality possible? if my oled magically died today i'd have a new one before microcenter closed
i will reiterate for your poor ass: the only people who shit on oled have never tried it. everybody who actually has one will say they will never go back to inferior garbage.
Yes. I don't use it for actual competitive online games. But I have the feature for casual gaming because that's where it shines.
I really don't understand stupid faggots who shill and lie about a technology just because they were able to afford it after not eating a meal for 3 months and act like they're a trillionaire just because they bought a thousand dollar shitty monitor.
OLEDs are not even close to perfection and their downsides outweight their only single real upside (that being inky blacks)
If only stupid poor faggots like you stopped shilling them so much and maybe we could get mini-LED displays this decade
still hasn't denied that he hasn't tried one
you are not qualified for this discussion. kindly fuck off
Do I get an odyssey g9 or a g8 bwos?
don't worry ranjesh
I'm even poor. Just have standards that are not being adhered to when i spend money even on the most premium products, when IPS LCD panels from say 10 years ago are not displaying the same problems.
are you acting retarded on purpose or is it just because you're a shitskin thirdworlder?
it isn't 2014 grandpa, OLEDs aren't expensive as fuck displays that only a few can afford, my phone has an OLED screen, my TV is fucking OLED, shit even my fridge is OLED
BUT my pc monitor isn't, you know why? because unlike you im not a retarded faggot who'd pay for a half finished jewish display technology
If I have to jump through hoops just to use your new technology properly then it's a dogshit technology. No I don't care about muh black levels either, IPS has been perfectly fine as the standard for the longest time and that's not going to change just because some faggot marketers are pushing for you to "upgrade" to their newest panels for the low low price of an arm and a leg. I don't want to worry about the fucking youtube logo burning in every time I leave a video playing in the background for a bit of extra color.
noo sar there is no flicker sar it is non issue please redeem the oled sar
Great though, the existence of OLED meant I could buy a really good IPS 27" 240hz 1440p IPS panel for £290
which monitor did you get?
I'm not even poor*
Anyway there's never a good argument against what I say. Flicker is noticeable to anyone with a pair of functional eyeballs. You're more likely just blind if you don't see it. It's even worse than HALOing on FALDs. Because flashing fucks with your eyes. I guess BFI or UMB could also be unpleasant to some people. But flicker will always be unpleasant to everyone.
had an old 24" IPS screen
hand me down from parents
oldschool, thick, cfl backlight, gets pleasantly toasty when in work
1920x1200, perfect resolution, perfect aspect ratio
originally intended for professional photo guys, so the colours are awesome
moved away a long way, didn't take it with me
got an ultrawide oled monitor for my own place because it was on sale
ultrawide is neat for programming but SUCKS for gaming other than racing (and i have vr for racing)
either washed out in supposedly colour accurate mode or vivid eye rape in other modes
always too blue regardless of settings
play in windowed mode in the middle of the screen
have to lower game settings to get performance because resolution is ridiculous
fuckin' hell. gotta peddle it away and search for a unicorn now, something quality yet not FUCKHUGE.
I detest good image quality so will never purchase an oled.
That's a good secondary monitor. You won't get anything for a used basic IPS display. just keep it.
for pc games I have Nixeus EDG27. It's an old model and i wouldn't recommend it anymore but I think it was a good buy years ago. Has adaptive sync and 144hz 1440p. Adaptive sync is so good, I would never buy another pc main monitor without it.
7th/8th gen console games I use an old Dell Ultrasharp IPS 1080p. Also my secondary PC monitor. Good colors and decent resolution, you can't really find a good quality 720p display for 7th gen. It's not amazing but still better than what ps360 games were intended to be played on.
I play a few rpg games on my TV which is an old 1080p Samsung from 2006. It looks ok but the input lag is too much for any action games.
Also have a CRT for the retro consoles, it's just some basic Magnavox, but it's in good condition. The geometry is not all fucked up yet.
M27Q X
I use a 10 year old TV for one monitor and an acer for my main
if we slow this 200fps game down to 50fps and squint you can sometimes see something, maybe
I use a PC Monitor.
59hz 1440p Dell IPS monitor.
I desperately need 120hz+ and VRR. I love everything else about this monitor though
Gigabyte G27Q that I got for 40% off, only HDR400 which is useless so I turned that off.
bought a 150Hz 4k monitor
it only goes up to 85Hz at 4k; 1440p goes up to 144Hz and 1080p to 120Hz
Did I get scammed? Also, it keeps turning on the sharpen filter every time it wakes up from sleep mode.
you are using displayport right?
what chink shit did u buy anonkun
if its not doing what u want return it
Of course.
Could they have cheaped out on the included cable? According to this site, DP 1.2 doesn't have enough bandwidth fo 4k at 120Hz+:
matradomski.com
It's an Acer Predator X32QFS.
kill yourself
what's the monitor model? if it has a dp 1.4 port then you should buy a new cable and try it, that's the only thing i can think of. i haven't heard of a monitor advertised as a certain resolution and hz to be dependent on lower res to get the full hz. i would bet it's a cable issue
anything but those meme ass ultra widescreens. i wasted way too much time installing widescreen ui mods and adjusting fov in first person shooters.
t. owned a odyssey g9
meme ass ultra widescreens
you can almost guarantee any games forum is going to be filled with people asking for ultra widescreen patches.
dell g2724d. Not really sure how good it is because I have nothing else to compare it to. Kinda regret not getting the aoc q27g3xmn instead because blacks really do look too gray on IPS.
I use a 58’ hdr 4k smart tv (it was a free gift) connected to my ps5 (it was a free gift) to play games like assassins creed shadows (it was a free gift). Thank god for mega rich siblings.
Some kind of Lenovo. I literally know nothing about except for what's written on the sticker
27"
QHD 2560x1440
165Hz refresh rate
1ms response time with MPRT
FreeSync
MSI MPG 271QRX
Words cannot describe how smooth and pretty things look at 300+ fps on a nice OLED screen.
ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP.
I ordered MSI MPG 321URX
waiting for it to ship
it will be replacing a ~10 yr old 4k 60hz asus so I hope the difference is amazing
It was the single biggest upgrade I've ever made. That said, you went for resolution over framerate, whereas I prefer framerate.
i have a 32" 4k oled from lg
currently 2419h of screen time
yeah I play older games and a lot of them will most likely break at high frames anyways
you can take an old game that supports 4k, run all the textures through an AI upscaler, and it will look good; e.g. there's a mod for tales of berseria with ai upscaled textures
its like getting a free remaster
Yeah old games are locked sometimes, but semi-old games can usually hit 300 or so fps and it really is great. Unfortunately, even a 5090 can't push super high framerates at 4k so I'm still 1440p for now.
AOC Q24G2A/BK. I did use the AW3423DW but the problems with OLED and widescreen are more annoying than the good parts.
It's bad, don't fall for the meme
you can take an old game that supports 4k
You don't even necessarily need that really - for 90% of windows based games the only real challenge is actual widescreen support as once you've got that you can use tools like dgvoodoo2 to get 4k output.
samsung 24 inch 1080p 75hz
I don't need more
For gpolice couldn't you just emulate the PS1 version, bump up,the render resolution and use retroarchs native widescreen hack?
PC versions can run at higher framerates and handles widescreen much better. Plus you're not fighting the psx wobble which the emulator hack ever truly eliminates. That is of course ignoring the fact the pc version allows for waaaay higher traffic, has a longer draw distance and has more animated billboards which makes the world feel more immersive.
yeah i use specialk sometimes to force a few games
there are a couple where you have to hex edit (onechanbara z2 chaos)
a few with special mods (megaresolution neptunia)
and then there are a few that you just can't fix like toukiden 2 and dynasty warriors 8 xcle
thankfully almost everything supports 4k natively recently
but after seeing dozens and dozens of "no widescreen" posts, I decided not to get one of those
Ah, I assumed the PC version was framerate locked because physics were tied to it since it was Japanese.
Just got a qdoled and I don't like it because edges and texts are less sharp than on a bargin bin lcd monitor.
AOC Q27G3XMN. Honestly, don't recommend it. It's better than the Dell S2719DGF I was using before, and it doesn't have IPS glow, but it's VA. It's shit to read on and I don't think the HDR is impressive. The monitor's buttons are hard to press/access and the stand is shit. I don't think I'll ever get VA or AOC again. If I wasn't a poorfag I'd get OLED for sure.
My shitty 55" Vizio TV from 2019. I want to get one that does 144Hz, so I'm waiting for this one to break.
So VA is always trash and should avoid at all cost, right?
I think it looks good when I watch movies or shows. It was also nice in KCD with all the black bars that game has. Black stayed Black. But yeah, mostly stay away.
24"

anything more is bloat, and you know it
A 4k dell ultrasharp
For most games that were on pc and console, from the 5th gen onwards, the pc version is incomparably better, even if your pc didn't have a voodoo card. Like try comparing Need for Speed III. That was an era when the PC could easily have 8x more ram than a Playstation. By 2000 it was more like 32x more. And even a shitty ATI Rage 128 graphics card would have 8x more vram.
From that era I'm used to stuff like Tomb Raider or FF7 where the PS1 version was always seen as the "correct" version, so I never really considered PC ports of console games from anything up to 5th or even 6th gen.
No noticeable as in I literally can't see any. Not minor, nothing
5 minutes of setup isn't difficult. The colors are more than worth it.
I am going to buy a VA monitor. Tired of IPS propoganda
There are some exceptions where the console version was better somehow, plus there's also the fact it's easier to load an iso into an emulator than set up certain old pc games these days. MGS Integral is a good example. The PC version has much better graphics and sound and the controls are fine. But these days you may have problems getting the videos to play in the game because of directshow problems.
Based poorfags stealing from their call center jobs
I have one. It's better than TN. I've never had an IPS but my Mom's TLC Roku TV has IPS glow so bad it's distracting. That said, VA is still kinda crummy with the baked-in motion blur and crushed blacks.
The monitor of kings. They said they were defective, that they'd all die within a year; fucker's nearing fifteen years and been on eight hours a day WFH for half a decade now

High end contemporary pc hardware for this game (1998) vs the playstation. Just having 60 fps on pc is nice, but the rest of the detail in the game is different too. You'd notice the difference even if you had a worse PC back then. Need for Speed Underground console vs. PC is a similar blowout despite ps2/gamecube being a lot better than ps1.
There were some bad ports back then, but don't let it put you off old PC games entirely.

I’ve had it for a while. Don’t feel like upgrading it until it starts acting up. Colors are great. Blacks are grey, but I play with a light on because gaming in the dark hurts my eyes, and it’s not as apparent when the room is lit. Otherwise I have no complaints.

Has been going strong for 15 years or so by now.
I also have a 19" 1280x1024 secondary monitor.
A Samsung 24" PLS monitor I bought in 2016. It was the cheapest "IPS" monitor on the market at the time.
It's still going fine but I've had to progressively reduce the brightness because it flickers otherwise. I'm down to 65%.
Is that the Sony 3d tv thing they announced at e3?
A 15 year old 44" 1080p 75htz Samsung LCD TV. Still works pretty good so I see no reason to buy something newer
27" 4K asus
+
17" compaq CRT
Everything that supports 4:3 goes on the CRT. My dream is to get one of those 20" fuckhuge CRT monitors that support 1440p-equivalent resolutions
A 27' LG monitor I got at Best Buy
I use a 27" 144hz 1440p monitor and no i do not need more
32" 4k 60hz
Too big
4k 60hz
Genuine question not a shitpost, why would you choose a monitor with completely overkill resolution but barely usable fps?
Human eye can't see more than 55fps
75htz
Your reasons right there
these are the poorfags shitting on every single game coming out
how can you even claim to be a gamer when you are still using some shitty ass callcenter reject sub 24 inch monitor? What the fuck are you doing? A solid 34 inch ultrawide is not even that expensive anymore.
You get used to it.
4k really isn't overkill imo I do more than just play vidya. I went with 60 because no point in getting a higher hz monitor unless I shill out an extra 1k for a GPU that can get those frames reliably and even then not natively.
Nta. Up until the 4090/4080 most of 4k gaming was at 60fps due to hardware limitations.
Went and bought a 2k monitor since they're cheap now. Got the Alienware AW2724DM last month
The same Asus monitor I've had for 10 years
*Acer I mean
4k IPS for desktop use
1440p OLED for everything else
I mounted both to a dual monitor arm so it's easy to move the one I want to use to the center
NONE BECAUSE THE STUPID VGA CABLE DOESN'T WORK OR SOMETHING
HELP I TRIED 2 MONITORS ALREADY
Is HDMI fine for PC gaming?
The only annoyance I have with hdmi is when using more than one screen.
i just got the alienware aw3225qf on sale for $600
Anything past 85fps is placebo.
falling for the 4k meme
a 2k 60hz ultrawide higher refresh rates hurt my eyes
Asus PG27AQN
I took a chance with a noname brand bc I was out of money after upgrading, I went with a 244hz 1440p from titanarmy and honestly it's pretty good for what I paid(300ish dollars), HDR looks fantastic on it.
Only issue I have with it is that its a little bit too big at 32", but they didn't have the 27" stocked.
falling for the high refresh rate meme.
An old Eizo 16:10 monitor I got used years ago.
32" 1440
Imagine the pixels
uhh got the vg259qm
24" 280hz panel
dont play csgo anymore so it kinda sucks
That's what I thought at first when ordering it but desu it looks pretty good, not perfect but its way above average.
I just bought a 32" 4k OLED
Hope its nice
how come older games still look good despite being on a shit monitor or screen?
Benq RD240Q

How many people (besides tendies) actually believe this? I went from 165 to 360 and there's still a noticeable difference even at those framerates.
dis one
tattoo
Because old games have lower resolutions and they weren't "shit" monitors when those games released.
higher hz is better than resolution
Anyone trying to get rid of a spare monitor? I need any old one so long as it has an HDMI port.
Ones at Goodwill/pawn shops never have the right power cables.
I need a 120fps monitor for the switch 2
what do I upgrade to
Know fuck all about monitors, but i need a new one. Heard Gigabyte m27q x is pretty good, might get that one
AOC q24g2a
LG C1 55"
Asus VH236
Holy mother of based, it's the OG EVO monitor.
2560 x 1600 at 24 inch is all I need
why not have both? not to mention 4k dlss performance looks miles better than 1440p native while performing about the same.
Samsung 27inch ips
He means he has a 24 and doesn't like it, the native size of windows that open is too large so he has to make them smaller. He would prefer a smaller 21.5
I own both and I strongly disagree. I'd bump up to 85hz if I could find a good monitor for it but 144hz+ is complete retardation
What kind of specifications should I be looking for if I'll mainly be playing rhythm games?
rhythm games
A CRT.
I have one of those.
Can I actually connect it to a PC?
I have a 32" AGON monitor. Does 1440p and 144 Hz. That's pretty much all I need for my main gaming monitor.
I have a 32" IPS Dell on the side so I can watch things as I play vidya.
If you have an actual PC monitor yes, just buy a good adapter like the DP2VGAHD20 and hook it up.
If you mean a CRT TV then no dumbass you can't.
your sibling must view you as a cuckold to buy you ac shadows
the cheapest one that has an HDMI connector and 60hz
That's what I'm looking for.
Which one did you end up with?
LG 24mr400-b
$80 is cheap? Shit.
It's the cheapest one I could find. I would go cheaper if I could. I don't need 100hz or built-in speakers.
144hz is not much more nowadays and is way smoother even on the desktop
built-in speakers.
Aw fuck you reminded me I need to get speakers too.
PC gaming is annoying
The Anon Babble shills who shilled those korean dvi only monitors all those years ago are still salty.
I need to get myself ones as well. My skin destroys headphones within months.
Samsung T35F, tried getting an LG Ultragear and on top being blurry the sub-pixel layout apparently made the text BLEED if you increased the sharpness over 70 or around that, great.
Tried another, Viewsonic VX2428 and it had really washed out colors + some weird glow that made the sharpness at 100 barely improve the image, but at least they didn't fuck the text up wow. It's so fuckin over for poorfag bros.
Earbuds or over-ear?
Either way I prefer not having to have headphones in all day as well. It's uncomfortable.
Buy used. My 4K was $70
used
But then I can't comfortably return the monitor in a drop off point near my house in case I don't fuckin like it.
Still rocking my 144hz 27 inch 1080 benq from 10 years ago. Thing is a beast, looks just as good as the day I got it. Never had the light bleeding issue people complain about.
What's not to like?
Displays image = good.
Doesn't display image = bad.
What more do you need?
Have you ever seen one in person? There is a reason people put up with that stuff.
What more do you need?
Way more than 100$ can get you I guess considering all the issues I experienced with 2 popular gaming monitors, although in this shithole over here that becomes 190$ instead.
I got some no name brand called Insignia NS-PMG278 which is really cheap for a 27" 2K monitor at 144hz, as well as a Viewsonic 2728. Thinking of trading one of mine to my sister since she's gaming on a stank 24" 60Hz screen.
why would you buy a monitor you don't like?
chances are her shitbox can't do 144fps
whats your ppi? Mine's 125
She mostly plays old ass vidya like TF2 and GTAV using a 1660. Funny enough she's one of the rare folks playing GTAV SP mode only. I plan on upgrading her rigs later on.
4k dlss performance looks miles better than 1440p native
Lol
this. it was like "wow that's a bit excessive" at first but now that i'm used to it looking at stuff on my smaller monitor feels like i'm using a toy
I turned on VRR for my OLED and it really was unbearable, so no, they're not full of shit.
Maybe it's on me for buying a dell fuck if I know
Three cheap, 24" LG monitors.
I don't play any fast-paced games so it doesn't matter.
a dell
Anon Babbleyps are eternally mindbroken by da joos
lmao
I bought some AOC microLED piece of shit a few months back and it already has a green stuck pixel piece of fucking shit

plenty of comparisons out there or you could check for yourself
Posts like this genuinely make me sad for ppl man.

These days most people are either making 100k+ or ~20k. Huge wage gap
