her

yes

Not very good, and the dialogue options are just bad, but the presentation of it carries it to a 7/10.

It's fine but it bottlenecks halfway through Act 2 so choices become limited. Act 3 still has a shit ton of sidequests though, I just wish they had time to add the upper city to piss off all the people who complained that Act 3 was "too big".

It's insulting if you ever were remotely engaged in the story of the first two games which actually deserve to be called Baldur's Gate
It could have been called Lemon Pie 5 and I wouldn't have given a fuck about how much trannoid retardation was in it but it's literally designed to try and steal my money while laughing at me, I hate it
Otherwise, if you haven't played the old games, it's just run of the mill modern videogame nonsense, kill bad guy, everyone fucks everyone wow very deep much mature themes, fuck you

Reddit game.

It's very simple and predictable, yet overcomplicated to all hell, so that Larian can pretend the story is smarter than it really is.

the story is...ehhh

Still unrefuted
Still no sales numbers
Still a flop

No bad but no good either, its more about having fun with mechanics which i dont like

Interesting premise and overarching plot but I'd say the overall storytelling quality really takes a nosedive after act 1.

The more I think about the story the less sense it makes.
For example, since I recently started another playthrough, at the very start, the cult of the absolute is somehow immediately aware that we have the magical mcguffin that can thwart their plans.
But the mcguffin itself was in Shadowheart's possession when we free her from the pod, meaning the mind flayers that captured her even weren't aware of it. And even if they were aware of it, it's super convenient that the big brain is able to transmit the info about the artifact but not transmit the info about our appearance, the fact that we genocided cult's camp in act 1 etc.

lol what a retard

lol what a retard

It's VERY obvious that there were at least 3 different main story ideas being considered, and because Larian couldn't decide, they mixed all of them into once.
Hence Bhaal working with the elder brain... for some fucking reason.

I mean.. You could easily. Take awae his journal :D

This image is legitimately deep fried at this point due to how many times you have posted it, you absolute faggot

I think a good chunk of the story is written with the consideration that Daisy from the beta is still a thing and actually the big brain's agent, which doesn't align at all with the Balduran shit.

Also, I just got to the first meeting with Raphael and it seems like the writers just didn't consider the possibility that you will immediately say "yes" to his offer lol. He goes "nah I will only make a deal when you've exhausted every other option" - then why the fuck did you even show up?

no, please, let me shill in peace!

Not going to happen. You lost so fucking badly posting this pic in every shill thread you make will be my pleasure forever.
And you STILL can't do shit about it, faggot.

Raphael has a lot of cut content as well.

it starts out okay but the entire elder brain/emperor plotline genuinely just sucks ass because it strays too deep into cosmic-level powerscaling bullshit
completely out of place in a level ~12 campaign setting

Its basically divinity original sin plotline. They copied to cult shit, you being seen as special to the cult and then the reveal that the cult is just a vessel for an even greater threat.
What makes it good is the interactivity you can have with the environment

It falls flat because nobody is supposed to keep their body and memories after death, but this fucker somehow does. Succ even promises to fetch him, and considering how high level everyone is, she can. He can fuck off by himself, really. This is Owlcat tier of respect for the setting.

The writing is good because its reactive and dynamic and the character interaction can be fun, also the side quests are integrated well into the game cause none of them feel fetch quests (except dribbles)

But the story aka the main plot? i found it average and generic, you have bad evil beings and you have the good guys who will save the day, thats it, they drive the story with a plot device aka tadpole and then you go forward from there, in a sense its a good excuse to make you play the game and keep the pacing going, but also its not deep or thought provoking and hear me out, IT DOESNT NEED TO BE.

ITS FINE TO BE A GAMEY GAME, YOUR STORY DOESN'T NEED TO MAKE SENSE ALL THE TIME, YOUR STORY DOESNT NEED TO BE DEEP.

story games are fine but they should not be the standard when it comes to rpgs, if all you want is a story, honestly? stick to visual novels, playing games just for the story sounds retarded, you are not a retard now, are you?

Well it sure fucking mattered to developers because the game has shitloads of writing related to the main plot. It's perfectkt fair to criticize as such. Whether it bothers someone or not is subjective but I generally agree. BG3 is a good game but that's despite the main story, not because of it.

compared to other CRPGs

Other than Planescape and Disco Elysium, what Crpgs have good story? seems to me they are all generic stories

Like i played Wasteland it was too goofy and over the top to be taken seriously
Pathfinder is too generic you have to save the world from demons like ok lol
Shadowrun is alright actually
Pillars of Eternity is boring and tries too hard to be philosophical that is forgets to tell a story in the process
Icewind dale barely has a story worth talking about
Baldurs gate og games are just generic fantasy games with generic evil mustache twirling villains
Neverwinter Nights has forgettable story
Vampire the Masquerade has a nice setting but the story starts interesting then by the end falls apart and the ending is so halfassed it feels unfinished
Fallout story is always so simple and short but the quests are great
Elder Scrolls are always about save the world from some prophecy
Dragon Age is about you saving the world from darkspawn another generic plot
Witcher is generic but it has depth because it was taken from a series of novels
Wizardry and Ultima barely have a story worth talking about
Might and Magic is goofy and too high fantasy to actually make sense

Like the whole genre seems to be generic and average on stories, games like Uncharted, The Last of Us, Cyberpunk, Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne and Silent Hill are far more interesting and superior story wise.

Even Jrpgs probably have better stories than crpgs.

If you play crpgs for the story you are 100% missing the point of the genre.

How good is the BG3 story compared to other CRPGs?

the writing and story of BG3 has to be the worst ive ever seen in a DND game.

It felt like watching a Marvel movie, 95% of all dialogue is just absolute nonsense filler you can easily skip, and lose nothing of value.

And its not just bad because its filler, its BAD FILLER, i kept rolling my eyes from cringe.
I dont understand how this even got popular at all, its literally the worst DND game ive played.

Where is the patch Swen?!?

The writing is good because its reactive and dynamic

awesome advertising slogans, sweetie, dont forget to offer us the newest Happy Meal deal, too.

generic plot bad

Subversion of expectations in fantasy seems to always equal cuckoldry, so I'll just assume you're an enthusiast. How terrible.

Is Larian even doing anything? They talked shit about making a sequel to DOS2 for ages, but then stopped

Lord of the Rings? Generic fantasy story with generic evil mustache twirling villains

Yes but its not generic when it came out, at least.
Still generic for today and its not that good, the films are also super overrated causal bait.

I would go as far and say that it is basically not a CRPG.

shitty, barely present systems

one of the worst, emptiest, form over substance writing in history of the genre

extremely linear, nothing you do really matters much

companions either have no character arc (Karlach), or it is just a dumb fucking dice roll away (Shart)

the main story is not really a story, but more of an rollercoaster ride along the THE COOLEST THINGS TO EVER COOL in D&D

itemization sucks balls, rewarding this fucking rodent-like collecting and piling up boring +1 garbage

Every single pillar of the genre is either lacking or basically non-existent. But it has great presentation and le funny moments for streamers.

I checked out at the illithid parts later on.

Answer me this:
Is it better to do an evil playthrough for Minthara.
Or a good one for the devil bitch?

Karlach is cooler

Minthara has almost zero content

most overrated game i ever played, didnt even finish the 1st act.

I meant the devil bitch from Wyll.

Ok, bummer.

Fun part about the devil chick, if you bang her while romancing Shart, Shart will tell you in detail how she's a giant sloot herself and doesn't mind you doing it.

Thank god for that arrow, I would have no idea wh this was about otherwise

Everything involving the main mind flayer guy is retarded and adds conflict for the sake of conflict

You can get Minthara in good run too. Just knock her out.
She has no quests and little content in general tho. But having a paladin in a party is always a good thing.

I remembered another one:
goodreads.com/series/40662-spellsinger
It's about horny degenerate furries, and there is also a Marxist dragon. Protag is, of course, a bit of a cuck. Should be good enough.

Not great not terrible. Didn't have a good time with it untill I rerolled Durge.
