The term indie has been diluted to basically mean "Not made by EA, Ubisoft, Activision, and anyone affiliated with Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo".
So many indie games nowadays would have been classified as A or AA games like a decade ago, especially when you factor in the resources and support they have to indie games from then. Hell, I remember in 2016 people would refuse to acknowledge you as an indie company if you so much as took a loan, let alone having the backing of a whole fucking publisher.

The best Roguelikes have an ABSURD amount of polish, care and content. Hades has thousands of voice acted content and ROR/Isaac has hundreds of super cool items with great gameplay
