Puzzle game.
Bitch about RNG or something.

I have made permanent progress.
I, II and III are the best girls!
Hope you've been taking screenshots off all these music sheets
games mid I dropped it
Hey! That's my pic! You filthy thief!
Only seen this one so far.
The absolute worst thing a video game can be is forgettable. Your game sucks, man.
Sorry.
I'm screenshotting everything I come across.
indeed
Alas, 3 is as far as I can take it today. Here's hoping for more tomorrow.
Music room has 1-4. The rest are even more scattered. I think 8 is in another green room like 5 was.
Maybe you could interact with it, but its weird the classroom has all these from the kids and a clean page at the teacher's desk but you can't do anything with them
Please... I just want to reach the antechamber...
What about chapel? You have 1 door there.
another game ruined by the devs refusing to learn level design
fuck the roguelite trend
I am telling you beforehand, there is no way in hell I'm making it from all the way down here.
roguelike puzzle
with resource management
with forced restarts due to poor RNG
What the fuck were they thinking?
Bitch about RNG or something
Any publicity is good publicity I suppose.
How much do Sony and MS pay for the giveaways?
I don't believe you.
Grab darkroom, go to the utility closet, and you can choose two different paths now.
I've been able to go all the way up from a small path at the bottom.
Feeling lucky?
Feeling lucky?
No.
You can go to the left (north) with the courtyard.
And you didn't draft a room from the dining room?
The library might've helped you more than saving two steps.
Plus, you can still head from the left of the dark room, though it's a bit tricky.
You can go to the left (north) with the courtyard.
If only.
And you didn't draft a room from the dining room?
Locked.
120 hours of this shit
damn
north
If I recall correctly, north is down.
I am legitimately convinced these people have never played a puzzle game before.
I don't understand what the FUCK to do with the pump room
I don't understand what the FUCK to do with the boiler room
Yeah, no, it's over.
Another 15 minutes of my time wasted. I love roguelites!
I drained all the water out of the pool, but all that was at the bottom was a bunch of coins
What the hell even is this?
You did turn off the Gym in the Utility Closet.. right?
Just got done playing, day 21 or so. Main things I found so far was the whole hidden message in every room thing that ends with eight dates crack eight safes, got halfway through trying to work out the names and numbers of all the angels, and got pissed the fuck off with the basement given I found 2 access points (the foundation after you crank it and the fountain after you drain it) and still no key.
It's alright, very RNG heavy though. The permanent upgrades seem a bit slow, or maybe I'm just missing half of them.
Boiler room is pretty easy. In the corner on the first floor you can lower an elevator. Take it up, and use it to raise the gate on the second floor. From then on it should be easy. The goal is to power the very top with the 3 directions.
Now the annoying fucking part is you need to make sure the laboratory is connect to the boiler room via the air ducts. It only powers stuff via air ducts.
A stand for cakes/sandwiches?
this periodic table thing is interesting, I think
if you spell out the elements in order of how they're numbered (the magnifying glass shows the symbols under the number, and they match with the real periodic table) you get pushthereupafternine. Push there up after nine?
Solved the shelter and now I have a permanent red envelope
It's push THREE up. It's for the switches on the wall.
You mean that switch disables the room entirely and doesn't turn the lights off like how the dark room switch taught me?
Only 4 major ones, then you can do various things to start with coins per day like Lab experiments
everytime you ______, permanently gain 1 allowance
The other permas are from upgrade discs which is just rng to find/buy.
What
Yeah, one of the books tells you the switch disables the drain.
Derp. Thanks.
I think that it's actually quite clever that they spelled an instructive sentence out from the periodic table.
one of the books
You mean notes? I haven't seen a single readable book in this entire mansion.
The switches enable/disable the room's effect.
Gym
No move penalty
Darkroom
Lights on is a bonus, the actual effect is you can see rooms while drafting.
Garage
You can use the garage door opener.
There's a book you can read in the library, there's the bookshop I haven't been to yet, and there's the book in the room where you can add new rooms to your deck.
I might hate the game, but I'm not desperate enough to spoil myself yet. Thanks though.
There's a book you can read in the library
...is it hidden in one of the bookcases or did I miss it like an idiot?
The two on top only showed my stats.
Haven't found the boudoir yet?
one of the books tells you the switch disables the drain
So you pretty much have no knowledge about it unless the rng gods give you a correct room to draw. Like 90% of the game anyway.
he didn't go to the nursery
You "order" the book and the next time you draft the library it will be there
The library has a page on the table you can use to request a book for the next time you draft it.
I hate this fucking game. This is actual dogshit game design.
request a book for the next time you draft it.
And then the library doesn't spawn for the next 20 days.
Alright, so mountain is absolutely yellow, I found a puzzle with it. So I guess orange hourglass and purple L block are wrong?
I have but I guess I must have missed something there
The contents of the envelope definitely fleshed out some information I found later in the Archives
need to press tab to see the map every time you open the door
did they even test this shit? why the fuck would i NOT want my map always on?
Took me a half dozen days, but I finally got the unlock I first got in the demo, the Orchard.
Game just refused to give me all 3 of the things I needed.
It's a mix between enjoyable puzzles and tedious padding because the RNG didn't line up and your run dies 10 rooms in, or you can't do the thing you want to do.
The problem is balance. Players should unlock more fucking room choices per draft, like 4-5, not just 3 and the gay dice you never fucking find.
Pff, get on my level.
Also the autorun toggle randomly switches off.
Hopefully you took advantage of your 50% off discount.
Oh yeah, absolutely. I totally received a store blueprint from the game and bought the most amazing thing in there. Yup.
So it this game good then?
t. puzzle enjoyer
...you're telling me that wasn't permanent?
I have to find this thing, the room it goes into AND have to make my way to the antechamber in one go?
What the fuck.
Depends. Do you like balatro?
It's 95% waiting until you don't get fucked by rng, 5% puzzle solving.
Fuck me that was stupid. I never even considered that after powering the top you can just reset the pipes however you want and the top will stay powered even when connected to nothing
It was okay. I like roguelikes and poker but Balatro didn't wow me
With your dozens of coins from saved up Allowance?
And you spawned it out in the yard with your Shrine Blessing from one of the previous 3 days and chained it up to take FULL advantage of it.. right?
Store it in that one room until you have a run that looks fine. Also, there are two other switches that can open the antechamber instead and you wouldn't need that lever. One is in the Grand Hall and the other is in The Secret Garden and you need the Secret Garden Key to enter.
I like roguelikes and poker
You'll enjoy Blue Prince then.
Allowance
What's that?
Shrine Blessing
There's a shrine room?
Store it in that one room until you have a run that looks fine.
That's what I did in the one run I managed to find the lever position.
Had to sacrifice my way to the antechamber for it, though...
He doesn't know
Okay, enough shitposting. :^)
Allowance
Experiments from the Lab room can occasionally give you an Allowance outcome, which gives you permanent money at the start of each day.
Shrine
Outdoors.
Allowance is gold you will start every day with. Got to start unlocking it from various methods but right now I start with 10 coins a day.
shrine
Its one of the outside rooms, got to go through the garage to outside to permanently unlock the route
Store it in that one room
implying that one room spawned during this run
Shiggydiggy
How many trips to the library would it take to gain all the knowledge from its books? Can those books appear elsewhere?
Outdoors.
Is it behind one of the locked doors? Can't access it then, unfortunately.
start playing
notice chromatic aberration
want to turn it off
this is the graphics menu
The worst I've seen in ages
finally, progress!
this is the reward
This game is mocking me.
Ye.
The fact you've gotten to day 21 without reaching that is impressive.
I suggest hugging the left side about halfway up.
This game's literally just a shameless copy of Gone Home.
I am impressed at how desperate you are for even a single (You).
Here ya go.
and make sure you find the utility room and turn on the power to the Garage
bro it's their first game it only took.... 8 years
I have managed to pull the library a single time so far.
Why the hell is the game requiring you to pull it up to 7 times for this kind of knowledge?
unlock the precipice and sigil book
look at the grade schooler coloring quizes
there's a fucking pattern and puzzle here but I can't piece exactly what
where does the microchip go?
Cause a fair bit of it can be learned without it.
By trial and error, I guess? But you'd have to be lucky to get both the closet and the related rooms AND you'd have to be actively looking for any changes.
By trial and error
Well, for example, in the case of reaching the outdoor room..
You can stumble across a room called Garage along the left-hand side
Going inside, you will probably notice the garage door opener flashes red when pressed
Paired with the electrical closet having a Garage switch
You can deduce that these 2 are related, so try to get a run with both and then suddenly, you are rewarded
reroll until you're lucky enough to get a specific room to spawn on a specific tile
Come on, seriously?
The game is fucking weird and awkward as hell, but I don't mind so far.
My 1 complaint so far is that the start of each day taking a good 10 seconds is really annoying after a while.
It goes in the computer in the cave, which opens after you pump power into the laboratory, and solve the puzzle there.
I think that's just for better RNG for the piles of dirt, and the stuff written right in that book.
I can't tell if you're shitposting or not.
Cause you also forgot:
Have the right item to take advantage of it
I think that's just for better RNG for the piles of dirt, and the stuff written right in that book.
I honestly don't trust this game anymore to just assume things.
Of course! How could I forget?
Oh my god... I'M RICH!
Don't forget to turn off the smudge pots. You wouldn't want to waste all that fuel after all.
I reached there and it's just a wall. There's something else to do.
Considering you have to order them every time, like at least ten times.
This should be told to everyone in the thread to solve first because I knew about it from the demo and it helps a lot.
So that's how you afford these.
play for a few hours
save and quit
game's title shows up again
"BLUE PRINCE"
wait a minute
finally get why it's called Blue Prince
Damn took me a long fucking time
Good luck having both the dark room and the magnifying glass spawn at the same time though.
Took me around 12 days?
can rotate rooms
what the fuck
this game has so many surprises
I get the dark room all the time, but the magnifying glass, yeah.
There's a few ways to get a lot of coin. That's probably the easiest one I've seen.
Wait until you realize Blue Prince also means something else.
how does the stupid pump control work? it mainly fills one tank and the other tank only goes up for one room, then there's that third tank.
oh but that's where I found it to begin with
was I just supposed to leave it there lol
got to the antechamber
Still need to RNG a specific room to progress
I suppose Day 7 was a bit early...
Hovel
Okay, actually, yeah, this is really good.
Some people can get there in one day and open it. Just RNG or there’s skill involved.
Fellow gem hater, let’s go. I head there every morning to open it.
I suppose it's more about the journey than the destination.
Looks like there's a lot of rooms I haven't scene yet which probably elucidate the background plot.
I don't hate Gems, but like I have so many moves that it's a more economic use of resources.
get the greenhouse on one of the rich soil spots
no flowers
What? What was the note about then?
You forgot something.
Don''t tell me it's something stupid like having the furnace room next to it or whatever
I have never seen the Terrace, Foyer or Attic and I've pulled the Office only a single time so far.
Are these supposed to be endgame tips?
Oh.
Well this run is already over, so that's not very useful.
No, those are just rooms you want to pull in the same day. The workshop for example is almost entirely useless because you usually won't have the items or even know what to make.
i ordered this book and haven't found the library again
thanks for the free read
As far as Terrace is concerned, you can only access it from either the 2nd or 4th column on a door facing towards the West/East wings.
Well. After 24 days (and 10 hours real time) I can safely say that this game is trash. A solid 4/10 at best.
The joy I found in the few puzzles I've encountered has all but diminished by hours of attempting to goad the game into giving me room and item combinations that the game just wouldn't give me.
I have absolutely no idea what all those gaming journalists who were praising this game to high heaven are on about.
I'm curious to see what actual people think of the game in a week when the initial hype has settled down.
I'll let you know because I'll be done with the game by then. Day 100 here I come.
RNG whiners must be legitimately retarded.
Apart from day 1 where I didn't know what the hell I was doing, I've reached rank 9 and made significant progress on discoveries every day from days 2-8, where I currently am.
I think they're just too stupid to live. I enjoyed a couple of the puzzles, but it's a shame it's all locked behind an RNG fest.
It's trivial to get to "rank 9". The issue with the game is when you know what you want to do, but the game won't let you do it because the stars won't align for you.
Root Cellar is kind of really bad compared to other external rooms.
Seriously bunch of cry babies over a game not being able to be beaten in one day. It's a puzzle game. It's at least thirty hours of content
inb4 padding and static when there's blueprints that change from day to day
It's trivial to get to "rank 9"
Not if you believe retards in these threads who keep posting screenshots of being completely blocked in on rank 3 or whatever, bashing the game and calling it RNG-dependant, refusing to realise that it's their own poor decision making that put them in that spot.
so we all already dropped it right? what a turd, it's over
Sometimes you just don't get enough shit early on to make it past 5 or 6.
Anyone know if keys and gems are guaranteed ever? It has to be with rooms.
I'm more interested in mapping out all the secrets than in getting to the room but I fundamentally dislike rogueshit design and this won't change my mind
I wish the game wouldn't start each day with the zoom in to the first room.
It would be nice to expedite the actual playing of the game, especially when you have a specific room you want to reach.
Kind of the same here. Worth playing for all the secrets. I think of it like Noita. I need more Outer Wild likes.
There are one or two rooms with guaranteed keys/gems.
The chest puzzle always gives gems and the dart board puzzle always gives keys.
I think you're just stupid. Like I said, I had no issue reaching rank 9 on seven consecutive days, after spending day 1 learning the mechanics.
It does that so you're not an idiot who misses the big ass clock on the outside.
Wait until you unlock the western gate and have to slowly walk towards it to draft an upgrade every single day lmao
run
it's like 1.1x faster than walking
Yeah but I already did the shelter time lock puzzle on day 3
the game is simply reminding you that the house isn't the only area to go
On day 1 I immediately left the house to go explore outside.
okay figured out the dumb pump, there's two other handles on the back side
finally get a good run and reach the antechamber
last run I reflooded fountain so the basement door isn't accessible currently
going to FUCKING kms myself
I can't for the life of me get the Boiler Room to ever connect to the Laboratory
Should I get this game or "The Case of the Golden Idol"?
I want to join in in these threads though
They're both on gamepass if that's not a problem for you.
I absolutely adore Case of the Golden Idol though.
It’s only like $20. Just play and have fun here.
never mind, luckshitted a pump room and my running shoes kept proccing so I made it. see you virgins later
How much play time can you get out of this game or is it a 5 hour and done kinda deal?
The game's reliant on RNG (though there are ways to mitigate) and runs seem to have a wide variance of success (for better or worse).
Definitely feels like it's going to take a lot longer than 5 hours.
I forget what it's called but the big 4-way intersection can transit power reliably.
I'm just not getting the lab to pop up after the boiler room even though I'm getting connecting vents
Spoil me a bit here bros, I'm a huge puzzle/adventure head but this shit just isn't clicking
is the antechamber the end of the game?
does the game have "meta progression?" Like can I find stuff that is used across all runs that helps me?
how much of the game is just simply down to RNG?
I really feel like I'm missing something but I'm willing to keep on trucking but I'm up to day 5 and so far fhe game just feels like
keep plotting rooms until you reach the top
OOP! 3 dead end rooms in a row. And no keys!
oh you wanted puzzles? OK, here's the billard room and parlor, enjoy.
Not trying to rag or anything but how the fuck did this get a 93? Is there some kind of mechanic I missed?
is the antechamber the end of the game?
No
does the game have "meta progression?" Like can I find stuff that is used across all runs that helps me?
I've found a permanent unlock, a permanent room upgrade, and some rooms which puzzle effects persist between runs
how much of the game is just simply down to RNG?
It'll definitely get in the way when you're searching for a specific things, but there are ways to mitigate it (specific room effects, or burning bad layouts early in your run)
How is it a puzzle game then?
Exactly how I'm feeling. I can't tell if there's some bigger picture I ain't seeing or if it's the fact they decided to make a randomly generate rogelike PUZZLE GAME that relies on RNG. I'm currently at say 8, if things don't pick up by 15 I'm dropping.
reminder that steam won't refund no questions asked past two hours
by being determined to see what isn't there, you're playing yourselves
reaching the antechamber turns the game from "reach the end" to "figure out the dozen hidden puzzles you that you don't even know exist". you still need to RNG through the house looking for clues and mechanics but it's not as bad as you only really need to reach the antechamber once since the unlocks are permanent
So basically the game get a lot better when you reach the AC?
Because there are puzzles.
Some of them are contained in specific rooms, some of them are more 'meta' and have to do with your run's layout, some of them are solved by information you learn from other rooms, and if you treat the narrative as a puzzle, that's also something to solve as you go along.
Though there are persistent unlocks that give you more resources to deal with, I'd say the main focus of the puzzle solving is learning how to solve specific layouts you learn connect, and how to improve the efficiency of your run.
I haven't beaten it yet though so I haven't made a complete judgement on the game itself.
i've never gotten bad RNG so it must be players who are retarded
kys faggot
Do you like the game?
some puzzles require multiple specific rooms to be perfectly drafter in a single run
on top of the fact they might also need to be in specific spots
and also need to solve the puzzle in general
Nah, I'm done. I love puzzle games but not puzzle games that require me spinning a fucking bingo ball machine for 8 hours until I even get a chance to try them. How the fuck did this get 93? Does it have some faggot ending like your uncles fortune is his bottle of estrogen pills and a note telling you to be yourself and translation or something?
eh, I'd say if you don't like it then just drop it. there are still some runs that feel wasted since you don't draw the needed rooms or don't know what you're even looking for
I don't get why theirs so many anons here defending the rng and acting like drawing 3 lavatory and wardrobe combos in a row is something that doesn't happen. Because it fucking does. Hell, last run I had the compass and it still pulled this shit.
this thread and the previous are both misaimed marketing attempts
Pick them sooner to get rid of them from the pool you moron.
What you're talking about can be found in the crypt.
And it's honestly quite touching.
Man, I wish this game wasn't rng garbage.
Wait, this game does have tranny shit? Cool. Now I know why it got 93. Dropped.
NTA, but I either don't get them or I have to choose other rooms over them else I block myself off.
This game is great when you're lucky. If you're not, you're gonna have a REALLY bad time.
But what’s in it anon?! Don’t leave us hanging!
I'd definitely like to start with some Dice just to smooth RNG a bit.
It’s okay to block yourself off so long as you have another path open. Don’t use up all your good 3 and 4 door rooms. Use the 2 doors on rank up.
what’s the crypt
This so fucking much jesus christ
This is my opinion after 10 runs.
I've had a few 'aha' moments that were satisfying, and was feeling good when I was making permanent progress. I'm also interested in some of the background plot threads I've discovered from solving hidden puzzles.
On the other hand, I've had some frustrations with not getting the right room combos when I want/need them. This feels a bit worse when I've got several different goals in mind, but none of them are coalescing into progress (due to RNG, which I've been focusing on mitigating).
I'd say that I'm enjoying the game, but I wouldn't have paid for it if it wasn't on gamepass.
The puzzle game genre is typically enjoyable because you find problems then solve them in your brain. In this case, there are times where you solve a puzzle in your brain, but not in the game because of how the RNG played out, building frustration.
Highest highs and lowest lows is part of the enjoyment of some genres of games, but if you don't feel like that belongs in a puzzle game, I'd skip it.
Personally, I wish there were more mechanics in the game that allowed you to mitigate RNG as you progress.
start run
west: wardrobe and lavatory, pick wardrobe, get money and a rabbit foot
north: choice between spare room hallway and closent. Pick spare room
East, a fucking bed and a bunk bed
OK guess I'll go north and see what I can do with the doo-
door is locked
Literally got softlocked in the first fucking room
Yeah, nah, fuck this. Thank fuck I got it free.
Ingenious post.
You say that, but the same thing will easily happen with the other paths.
A pretty big area with some sort of statue puzzle where you can move their arms up and down and the actual tomb of your gramps.
It's interesting but I pretty much know how to get to the end but it seems like it's just going to take a Certain Amount Of Time and idk if I want to go through it. I just wanna nuke the place but don't know how
You're being a disingenuous nigger, but you have a point. That message probably IS part of why the score is so high.
puzzle game that relies on you getting lucky to progress
people are praising it for having tens of hours of content
what mental illness is this
Well? Post the message for us in the back.
the fallout shelter is based, FUCK red rooms
Nah. I considered posting it, but I meant what I said. It really was touching to read.
I won't rob the right person from the experiencing it for themselves.
Opening doors and walking is way faster than solving the puzzles. The game doesn’t even have loading animations on doors so it’s almost entirely a seamless gameplay experience.
know what's faster? not giving me shitty rooms and softlocking me on rank 2 or 3
The first hour is barbuta all over again
Where do you use the 5"1/4th floppy for that permanent upgrade? I got it stashed in the coat room for now.
The game doesn’t even have loading animations on doors so it’s almost entirely a seamless gameplay experience.
damn what a technical marvel, wtf i love blue prince now
is the pay good at least?
You can pop it into any computer
frognigger
not recognizing a joke
Ah, classic.
2 stars in the observatory is support to put stuff in the entrance
doesn't
how does it works?
It tells you when you pick it up. Any terminal, security, office, shelter or laboratory.
You've got to click on the constellation while your looking at it through the telescope
OK I've exhausted all options so maybe this foot will work
oh shit, big cross hallway with three possible doors! It's either that or a toilet
OK let's see
locked
locked
locked
welp. Wait lemme check security room
oh shit I missed a key!
OK got it now let's open a door and see wha-
bedroom, nursery
I'm packing it in puzzle bros. I hope some of you get enjoyment out of it, the atmosphere, sound design, environmental story telling and music are all kino but I can't keep going through with this shit. It's retarded.
Thanks. I hope so too. I’ll it in your stead.
Same. I'll happily come back if
they add a 1 or 2 dice at the start of each run
they add a percentage chance of a dead end room not being paired with another fucking dead end room when you draw
Until then shits too frustrating.
Literally me. I just don't get why they thought truly random rooms were a good idea.
it's OK to take a break anon
I think it's gonna be better to play a couple runs at a time instead of continuously
Same as. Game seems very kino but I just got 4 days in a row where I had multiple paths open and they all lead to the dreaded lavatory/utility/storage/garage/etc etc combo. 4 in a fucking row. It's a shame too because I REALLY fucking wanna like this but this is the most inane gameplay loop I've ever played.
I am 100% certain that you chose poorly and that other options would have given you progress
try to be creative and use the wind up key on the ballerina in the Boudoir
doesn't work
aw man I thought this game would be cool
I can feel it bros
still have two paths
lots of steps left
rng jesus on my side
we can do it
Same as. I'm at day 15 and cannot do this shit anymore. Even with stuff like the silver key guaranteeing you a 4 way room what fucking good is it when each door is locked and when you do unlock it its a fucking bathroom or bedroom.
The game is cool, but obviously it's still an indie game.
Should be more generous with stuff. For instance the root cellar should have a fucking shovel.
hey there's gonna be more digging spots, which you might never get to use
Well, is it?
it's really the dark souls of puzzle games as in the one way to make progress is to fucking headbutt a wall until it yields
Okay I just started playing. How do you guys take notes? Am I a retard for screenshotting every letter and potential "hint". There should be an in game journal
The shovel can spawn in different places, so it might be possible.
No, it's nothing pretentious. It's more of a Myst-like because there's multiple stories going on and you have to change the world.
Currently trying to:
Get the Crypt to spawn so I can solve the puzzle inside
Get the Foundation to spawn
Get the Boiler Room to spawn and connect to the Lab (which also must spawn)
Get the Pool to spawn so I can get to the Pump Room (which also must spawn)
Get the Dark Room and Utility Closet to spawn, while also finding a Magnifying Glass
Get the Library to spawn so I can look at any of the books
Find new rooms to learn new things to do
I've unlocked and been to the antechamber several runs ago.
Despite my best efforts mitigating bad RNG rooms, I have not made any progress on these puzzles in quite a few runs.
There's good, fun, and interesting things inside of this game, but there needs to be more ways to mitigate RNG and make more permanent progress.
There's a lot of rooms that look like the devs thought they would have niche utility, but just clog up the room pool.
I did the same thing. It doesn't matter. You'll stop playing in 2 to 10 hours.
Is the """rng""" as bad as people are making it out or are they just getting filtered?
Yeah. The library remembers a lot of what you've seen too.
There's no time limit whatsoever. It's a filter of patience.
All they need to do is remove the entire RNG, allow you to pock whatever blueprint you have available, but give them prerequisites.
hallways cannot touch
green rooms need to touch the sides
pool-related rooms need to touch the pool
only three bedrooms allowed
every 5th blueprint must be a red one
That kind of thing.
I'm a defender and thoroughly enjoy this game.
It's pretty fucking awful. While there are ways to mitigate it, emphasis on the word mitigate. It barely makes a difference. If you couldn't tell by this anons post
It's pretty damn bad indeed. But I'm too invested to give up. Story and atmosphere are very good. No clue how this got a 93 however, lorelei and the laser eyes blows it out of the fucking water.
I only recognize lorelei here.
zoom in on screenshot
cant read
using glass
can read
dishonest design
game not giving you any options to avoid a softlock
filtered
Pick one, retard.
You're literally going to waste 15 to 30 minutes per run placing rooms in the hopes that the game will give you a specific item + room combination.
Finally got it? A shame, for the game just gave you nothing but dead ends and now your run is dead.
Have fun rerolling until you get it again!
Yeah it's kind of hard if that's what your screenshot looks like in game, but I could tell right away it's Swansong.
I just screenshot everything for now
another fucking failed run where i can't move forwards
yeah i'm done with this fucking trash
picking pantry, spare room, drawing and nook that early
This guy is bad at picking rooms.
This one pisses me off.
You NEED the magnifying glass for the black room pictures.
And that means you need the breaker room to turn the lights back on.
There are so many fucking layers of RNG to every single step of this game it's not even funny.
I can guarantee you that anon chose the better option out of what the game presented him.
That's also what makes it fun though. Never know what's going to pop up when you thought you had figured everything out.
i'm gonna take a chance at getting a straight room in the right row
NO YOU DONT GET ONE FUCK YOU START OVER
one fuck you is worth another
i watched the gameplay a bit and it feels like someone saw the piano animal puzzle in silent hill 1 and decided to base the whole game around just that
FUCK bricked run because i cant pull out of the floor selection
One day lost is like 5 minutes dude.
when you thought you had figured everything out.
This never happens, because the game never let's you finish any fucking puzzles thanks to the RNG.
Take the library for example. It took me 18 fucking days to finally pull it.
You then need to pull it again to read one of seven books.
Done with reading? Start a new run, because you need to pull it another time to request another book.
And then you need to pull it AGAIN to be able to read that next book.
It's madness. It's actually fucking insane.
I can't take this shit anymore. I know exactly what I have to do to progress, but I keep getting fucked in the ass by randomness. Big fucking surprise, mixing puzzle games and roguelites was a horrible idea.
Posting my progress for the 44 letters puzzle, maybe you fags will make better use of it.
I used the steam notes thingy, the one that pops up when you shift+tab. It works really well, you can paste screenshots and shit. But I recommend refunding the game instead while you're still under the 2 hour mark.
I know exactly why journos are praising this shit, the puzzles are baby tier, and the game has no actual gameplay, so its a win-win for journos. They hyped themselves into thinking its good because you have to screenshot everything or write it down, in their little pea brains that makes the game good. Same faggots who praised that piece of shit animal well.
it was going so well in terms of resources...
You've basically solved the puzzle, anon. The problem is that this is a hint to another puzzle.
Same faggots who praised that piece of shit animal well.
implying any of the reviewers even finished layer 2
i mean it's a great game before it turns into a collectathon shitfest
haha wouldn't it be funny if 80% of the rooms had left door and almost none have right doors?
the game is a collectathon though
puzzles are baby tier
itt: people getting filtered
luck'em'ups
You just chose poorly sweaty, do better next time
only after the first ending
I think one of the problems is resource bloat.
Stamina/Bedrooms might as well not exist since runs are most likely to be ended by running out of keys, gems, or good layouts.
The bedrooms just serve to increase the number of useless dead-end rooms in the pool.
The only time it matters is if you get good RNG and get the Hovel outside (which is only good because it completely deletes gems from the necessary resources)
Gems are way too important since a lot of the time they determine if you're gonna choose a dead-end, or a room that actually leads somewhere/is useful.
Animal Well was actually good though.
It's a neat little metroidvania with an endgame arglite attached to it.
Not everyone's cup of tea, but it's okay at worst.
to get the first ending requires you to collect the four flames which requires you to get eggs for the flute too
I decided to pay £1 for xbox game pass. Which one anon mentioned (thanks whoever said that). The only "puzzles" I've encountered so far are these box puzzles which are insultingly easy.
I thought this game would be more like a massive escape room thing while each room has a logic puzzle. So far, it just seems like picking rooms. I hope there are more puzzles and I hope there are harder ones than this
my screenshots are 10mbs each
Fucking hell. I need to remember to delete these.
Also why isn't there any music? A giant manor is a great setting (and infinitely sized mansions are often the setting in my dreams) and I feel like they don't do much with it. There's so little opulence. Would some faint classical music really be so pretentious?
Entering certain rooms will make certain music start playing.
None of it is rememberable.
There is music, go out the west gate. It's also because of another game play thing that music isn't supposed to be on all the time in the manor.
okay and you get them naturally as you progress
don't even pretend it's on the same level as pixel hunting all over the map again for the rest of the eggs
Well if you're wanting nice background music in a puzzle game, at least Case of the Golden Idol is on game pass. Fantastic game.
it's the same all throughout the game
you don't even know why you're collecting the eggs until later which relates back to the first ending
Found a billiards room with a puzzle symbol except it's the dart board you interact with. Except you don't play darts. It's literally just basic arithmetic. You think'd the puzzle would be "how are you meant to know what to do" except next to the dart board there's plus and minus symbols because this game thinks you're an ape. I'm unironically a little insulted by the puzzles so far in this so called puzzle game. Portal had harder puzzles than this.
Please tell me these are just the tutorial puzzles
You gotta be fucking kidding me
And this is after a reroll
Fucking SIX ROOMS without a left exit
That is one of two actual puzzles in the game.
You will be forced to do them over and over because of their rewards.
Also you're supposed to get the magnifying glass and read a note in another room which contains an illustration telling you how it works.
Or you can just bruteforce the rules. That's what I did.
There's actually also a note in a different room that hints to you how you're supposed to play the billiards room puzzle
Anyway, the billiards and parlor room are just 2 specific simple puzzle rooms
I suppose you could say they're tutorial, they're just there for an easy way to get gems and keys early
this ain't even a puzzle lil bro, you'll be doing that shit over and over again pretty much every single run for those keys
93 on metacritic btw
The demo making me realize it's not a puzzle game but instead a faggy roguelite killed my interest in the game. Does that ever improve? Getting cucked because you had to retread though old rooms or the game not giving me keys was a real disappointment. I did seem like there was some actual first person puzzle content, but it was buried under unnecessary RNG shit.
Does that ever improve?
No, it gets worse. I shit you not.
Does that ever improve?
no, it actually gets way worse since you learn multiple things you need to do and the game won't give you anything to do them
going to the gym is the biggest penalty in the game
a fat fuck made this
The roguelite part is the fun part. You get meta progression.
So it's not even worth pirating? That's a shame. I now understand why the devs kept removing the demo. They wanted to hide the fact that it's not really a puzzle game.
It's actually funny how easily your run will be ended by not getting enough gems or keys
Imagine getting tired from merely seeing a gym. Couldn't be me.
nope
also be prepared to redo that puzzle every run until you get so annoyed you delete the game
he wasn't smart enough to turn off the power
Skill issue.
Having only played the demo, this and some easy as fuck "select the correct vase or something" puzzle were really the only puzzles I stumbled across. I sincerely hope the paid game has more.
It's not and you're probably right about that being the reason.
I'm pissed I spent 10 hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong when it turns out that the game is just straight up garbage.
You want to play a fun game? Go play PEPPERED.
Do we find out who this guy is? I haven't read anything else about him.
I sincerely hope the paid game has more.
lol
lmao
Blue Prince wishes it could be as kino as the mountain.
Find an item I've never seen before, spare car key
Desperately try to get to the Garage
Get cucked immensely by getting there and getting shit draws
Bruhh
I'd love to discuss the lore with you, anon! Alas, the game is refusing to give me any of the rooms I need to progress.
walk to the west side room
it only randomly generated useless dogshit
that'll be 10 steps + tip :)
You'll be even more disappointed when you find out what the car key is for to be honest.
same
got car key
got garage draft
no door key
ok then
I thought that single piece of disconnected lore and some coins was an amazing reward, honestly.
seriously what's with the lack of music
seriously wtf journos are smoking
It had a permanent upgrade floppy disk for me the first time, and the second time it had a key to the secret gardens
Finally visit the Bomb Shelter
Date and time
What the hell. How on earth am I gonna find out what day it is.
welp another cucked run
riveting stuff
There's the easy way, paying attention and then there's the hard way which is getting this room.
paying attention
I don't remember a date in the opening dialogue. Is it just on a note in one of the rooms?
I think ordering a book tells you the date. But that requires you to get the library in two separate runs.
root cellar
find a shovel in first opened room
only find trash in every dirt pile
last room i can open is experiment room which would have gave me coins/gems every time i dig up trash
cool, what a gay game
It's not a puzzle game.
It's another rouguelite gambling game, disguised as a puzzle game.
It's not a single note, but you can tell from reading a lot of stuff.
before I get too invested, is it fucking magic?
This is the item of dreams.
No, Blow actually makes good games
Okay, I like upgrade disks now.
2 wind-up keys
Do they actually expect anyone to ever fail a box puzzle?
After doing 2 more of the same braindead "puzzles" I stopped playing. I'm so annoyed at being decieved at this NOT being a puzzle game that I made this. I feel so stupid: I was taking screenshots of the walls and ever letter and exploring the exterior area trying to interact with ever nook as if this was gonna be some amazingly clever game and thoughtout problem to solve. So far it's just been picking rooms over and over.
Is this game just so smart that the mystery has gone over my head or is this literally just a walking roguelike with resource management?
i think that game that guy was sperging out about was the 7th guest
pic
kek
The long winded letter explaining the brain dead "puzzle" is pretty apt lmao
Got seven days in.
Dropped it.
Inb4 bro it gets good in a two more weeks, just give it two more weeks bro
Nah, don't think I will.
Glad I pirated this instead of buying it.
Everyone in the threads have been expressing the same sentiment. This is possibly the biggest disappointment I've felt in years. The fact that not a single review has been expressing what is obvious consensus here is mind-boggling.
Also kek.
not even 30 days in
Filtered.
I think if you beat it enough it becomes a coinflip
I had one where one of the chests was blank and the other two could have both been false or both been true
it get's goo 15h in
kys
it's a joke, retard
Everyone in the threads have been expressing the same sentiment.
Anyone remember what the reaction was during next fest? I was too busy for the threads that time, but I played it on the last day and distinctly remember being really pissed at it.
Yeah, had this happen too. The hint becomes too vague.
This game being a roguelite is so strange. The design of the game and puzzles is obviously gimped by the randomness.
Maybe if it was just a straight forward puzzle game, it would've sold less, but it would've at least been better than this crap.
Even chatGPT agrees.
KEK I'm enjoying the game but this is accurate.
Provide one single example of a solution being ambiguous you fucking shitwits. Every box puzzle is literally solveable by any white 3 year old
I got there on day one. Rng for sure. It was just a wall if course.
I dont like this game.
I'm enjoying the game
Be honest. Does it get better? Maybe I just don't get it yet but so far it's just picking rooms and hoping you get enough resources/doors to keep moving.
crazy how the upgrade that puts three fucking gems in the three box "puzzle" room is 100% mandatory because if you don't have gems you can't pick the rooms that aren't fucking dead ends.
The issue is I don't see what the puzzle is that I'm trying to solve. This is giving me a bunch of random bullshit and I'm just slapping shit around and hoping that some sort of mystery reveals itself to me. I don't know what the fuck anything is and I don't know why I should care. It's not giving me any sort of intrigue. I already got to the room at the end of the map and it was just a fucking dead end. So now I'm not curious anymore. Any other puzzle game it's going to present you with some sort of clear mystery and you're going to have some sort of idea of what to do with that. Here you get nothing and nothing.
Its why the outer Wilds was so good. Everywhere you look there is some sort of interesting thing you were looking at. And then to looking deeper into it you started realizing things about it. There's nothing interesting about this game.
The resource bloat (as in, the number of different resources you need to maximize upkeep) is insane
I've played for 11 hours and I'm on day 8. My days go long and I make a lot of metaprogression. There are a lot of threads that keep me interested and wanting to see what happens next
I've seen this thing mentioned and I have no idea where it is.
Okay, great. I know even less what to do with this thing.
Not saying it'll happen to you, but personally, I was feeling good about the metaprogression I was making in my first 10 days, then happened and just ground everything to a halt with nothing I could do but retry
You need to use the key on a locked door in the westmost column. Inside is a puzzle that unlocks a door to the antechamber.
dropping the game at day 20
shan't be wasting any more time praying for RNGesus
When a youtuber comes out and makes a video proving the game isn't RNG, will you all apologize and admit you were wrong about the game?
It's so annoying. I played two sessions (day 1-5, then 6-10). Good progress on the first session, second session has been nothing but duds, zero synergy between findings. Nothing you can do besides hoping it'll roll a better seed. Only to have to redo the shitty dartboard and box shit all over again.
Thanks, I'll remember that for next time. At least the lavatory can be good.
Idc that it's RNG. I'm just not having much fun with it. I thought it was a puzzle game and it's not.
uh akshually you can count cards and uh after 200 hours you learn how to mathematically guarantee 1% better odds so it's not rng you're totally in control bro
Am I supposed to be able to figure out what to do here? I just got here after lighting the four flames
Yes. Now show me.
saved
Fuck just apologizing, I would be overjoyed to hear that
the problem is not the RNG, but having to redo the same boring puzzles every single day because otherwise you don't have the necessary resources
it feels like 1% puzzle and 99% busy work
This is one of the super amazing puzzles because it involves chess pieces Mega spoiler that were they all along in the rooms and if you didn't pay attention, you can't solve it right now.
Ahhh fuck, glad I decided to look at the spoiler. I'd been an idiot and completely ignored those, even while avidly documenting everything else. Ty.
The basement key is in the antechamber.
mfw doing parlor/darts for the 1238109238th time
ok but the rooms change position every day, unless you draft every room with a chess piece how is that supposed to work
that's exactly how it works :)
better start writing down which rooms have chess pieces
you've played enough to know what kind of game it is by that point
i love slurping that rngesus
rngesus take the wheel
Yahtzee’s new channel is calling it a GOTY contender
Am I taking crazy pills? I’ll give it another try tomorrow because so far is been kinda boring
Any tips on getting farther? Maybe that’s my problem. And when does “meta progression” begin?
found two pawns in rooms next to each other when the chessboard only has one pawn
What did anon mean by that?
Math is a puzzle lmao get fucked
Steam reviews will say 'it's the greatest game, I have 90+ hours and still have more secrets to solve, be patient!'
At that point it seems like it must be a game for the exceptionally unemployed (or game journalists which were given the time to finish it before launch)
Went into this game knowing almost nothing about it. Watched no streams or anything. Just knew that it was made by a MTG draftchad and that it had some sort of roguelite elements.
Think I did pretty damn well for the first day, lads. I wanna brag a bit. I got a red envelope and everything.
Comfy ass game.
I can't believe this shit took 8 years to make. And then seeing the metacritic. Feels like an elaborate troll.
Nice. Keep it up. I haven't got the battery pack yet.
meanwhile over here
14 days, still no office
I saved and quit, I assume I don't get to keep anything in the inventory, right?
No, but my point was it's a rare item to keep in mind anyways.
The developer knows I'm a fellow MTG draftchad and rewarded me accordingly.
I hope you continue to have good luck, because the game is very enjoyable when things go well (and very frustrating when things don't)
What? You're telling me this can get more complex? Answer to this was 16. I think the rule is to square the number.
I thought at the start that the game was nudging itself towards helping you, I had two locked doors and then I go to the billiards room, do the puzzle (Which I could just keep repeating until I figured it out) and got two keys.
Seeing that there are a lot of complaints about RNG, now I feel blessed.
I remember people liking the demo but everything I've seen so far was also in the demo and people then were mostly hoping there would be more.
It really is at it's best when you're finding new rooms and figuring out several meta-puzzles to solve by making connections between what you've seen.
It just tends to fall apart as soon as you solve those meta-puzzles in your brain, but the game won't give you the right rooms so you can put those solutions into the game.
"Yahtzee's new channel" isn't his personally curated paragon of taste, it's just the entirety of latter-day Escapist transplanted outside of corporate at the former EIC's whim (which yahtzee went along with because he still wants to offload administrative shit to anyone else rather than going fully independent). You're talking about the nobodies who were too shit even by the extremely low standards of "game journalism" to land a job anywhere but Escapist in the era where the only thing literally any of their audience could tell you about their output was that they bankroll Yahtzee.
This item is pretty cool, but what's best to use it on?
I know but if I say “Second Wind”, even if you’re subscribed to them you probably wouldn’t know what I was talking about
bad RNG or am I retarded?
open up secret garden and solve puzzle
can't get a door to the antechamber despite getting right up next to it
Jokes on me.
other two could have both been false or both been true
This isn't possible, did you even read the instructions?
damn bro you got the ability to rotate your blueprint?? you must be like rank 20
unrotated phone pic
retarded
No, what he means is that the instructions mean the third box can be true or false because it doesn't contradict the other two. Obviously it's just true or false, but which it is isn't clear.
I'm not 100% certain, since I only went there right after the garden, but I think the antechamber doors stay open
Obviously it's just true or false, but which it is isn't clear.
Give me a screenshot of this happening RIGHT NOW or you're retarded
That is possible since other things stay open. I'll speed there and see.
tunnel is a pretty funny room
zoom straight to rank 9
I already asked them they're rightfully too embarassed
They don't.
Does shelter work on the same day? I can never get it the next day.
literally what the fuck is this thing
I'm still totally lost here. I've been exploring all over the manor again but I'm only finding yellow pawns. What am I missing?
uhhhhhh tiny chocolate fountain
If you know how to solve it, you can usually make guesses for the pictures until you get the solution.
So that's how that works.
i know what to compare it too but i didn't even know what it is, my best guess being cake stand which was not remotely similar to it's 'partner'. i guess i'll try to figure out the rest of the row first
What third world country are you from? It’s for confections, sandwiches, and in the domestic setting any other tea accoutrement.
australia
All three rooms I haven't drafted before. What chances.
Ok i noticed that also.
So what? Does that mean dont solve them? Dont keep solving these micro puzzles over and over and over again to get meager rewards? Wow goty
Grab the foundation, you'll NEED it
I can't get it to pop up
Library is always nice.
That's a pretty good Foundation spot.
Yeah, I took foundation. Incredible spot.
It's "tier" if I remember correctly. I think it's paired with tie? So D is the letter. I haven't figured out what to do with the letters yet though
R, typo
Is this really not a puzzle game?
so D is the letter
wha-
oh thank goodness i was about to have a breakdown after filling in over half the rooms
Yes. Unlock the shed and visit it first thing
The fucking chess pieces are moving between days. No genuinely how the fuck are you suppsoed to do this chess puzzle shit
It's a puzzle game, but it's mostly meta puzzles that you'll feel satisfied solving in your brain, then frustrated because the RNG of the game won't let you solve them in-game
From inside to outside, the operations are addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, in that order. You always start with one inner ring number—click it. Then, just do the operations they give you. If you get 10 on the first (innermost) ring, 4 on the second ring, 3 on the third ring, and 9 on the fourth ring, the answer is 10 - 4 × 3 ÷ 9, so click 2. The order of operations is always +-×÷
I've played for 11 hours and I'm on day 8
WHAT IN THE FUCK. I played for like an hour and a half and im on day 11.
What is going on with this game.
I already solved that a while ago, I was pointing something out that appeared and was new. It's in the image name.
Yeah, he knows. It doesn't start telling you to square the numbers until you've solved it a bunch
Damn, this is cool.
Office spoilers.
Self-replicating Hallways
Dear god.
+1 key is probably more consistent even if the last one is funnier.
Nice, I want an upgrade for that.
The disks actually work in any of the computer rooms.
I'm still trying to find the office, and it's bumming me out
Having a steady supply of Keys is so incredibly important that I had to go with +1 sadly.
And then I blind stumbled into the Drafting Studio on this run too. Holy shit.

Synergies: Skilled Players
INFINITE STEPS UNLOCKED
5 times I have done Dark Room straight into blindly choosing Furnace
Yeah, I need furnace for something too and it's always appearing when I least need it.
Protagonist really needs to work on his cardio.
boiler is reset daily unlike pump room
rarely appears in the first place unless you wrench'd it
need to enter through both sides so you can adjust both sides of the boiler puzzle
then it needs to have a power connection to the lab
also bunker needs to have spawned so you can measure radiation
might as well buy a fucking lottery ticket.
AND the Pump Room. Why the hell am I finding all this shit now 14 days in?
Almost completed my mapping of the picture letters to the rooms.
Still have no idea what this fucking means.
Why do indie developers keep reverse engineering the RNG deckbuilder genre
Holy fuck this game is bad
It's the white box right? Or is it the black box? White has to be true because of the initial rule and if white is true then blue is false. But black can be true or false? I'm not sure.
Holy fuck this game is bad
I hate hate hate how I almost drop it and then it finally gives me a break
just a tiny bit of break to keep me going like a dumbass rat in a maze
just enough to bring me back in
I know the next few runs will be miserable again
blue
wait no white
And a Music room what the hell.
Prism key
Immediately get a natural Aquarium
Time to see what the hell these 2 do together. Probably nothing.
If blue is false, then black is true
drain the pool
the center column does not open up
this game really pisses me off
1 box contains gems
Always true.
So Blue can't be true (cause then there'd be 2 true boxes)
And since Blue is false, that means there are 2 true boxes. So Black is true, meaning the gems are in White.
Yeah, turns out you need to drain the fountain
I agree.
I thought the rule was that there's a guarantee of one true box which is already the white box. The guaranteed false box is the blue box. So what is the black box? Am I just coin flipping?
The rule is at least 1 box is true, and at least 1 box is false.
Thus, there's either 2 truths or 2 lies.
It's never a coin flip. Any anon that says that failed logic puzzle school.
its not a coin flip, its defacto true because the white box doesnt provide a hint about where a gem is, theres nothing to identify black is lying so it must be true
Or maybe this anon is right? Since white is already true, it's not the guaranteed box, but the black box is the guaranteed true box? I can see that interpretation.
If Blue is false, that means that the opposite is true.
Only one box is true is false, so there must be more than one true box
And there's only 1 other box that can be true.
You have to falsify the statement in this case. Cause if Black was false, Blue would be true, which would then lead to a logic loop.
Bitch about RNG or something.
A huge part of the design is a blatant goddam slot machine.
He has a goddam gym and spends loads of stamina there.
Thanks fellas. It really was the white box. I've learned a lot about logic from this too. Kind of tricked me for a bit.
What's this game about?
redoing the same two shitty box and dart puzzles hoping things will line up properly this time so you can do the puzzle you solved in your head.
pain
Nothing special.
And lastly, I got a Workshop with a pile of items.
I actually get to experiment for once.
Watched someone play this for a few mins and it looks fun. The art style and vibe kinda remind me of wolf among us.
So you replay and progressively learn new stuff to advance further correct?
It seems intriguing but idk this feels like its gonna take like 10 or a little more hours and im not sure about paying almost 30 bucks for that.
there are people here who can't a baby's logic puzzle
mimic logic came out last year and it's basically the same as the box puzzle but with more chests, mimics, and statements. simple concept but fun game.
Advancing further is actually completely tied to RNG generating the correct rooms.
There are meta-puzzles that you learn of by inspecting rooms, and eventually you figure out their solutions.
You're then entirely gated behind good RNG giving you the right rooms so you can input the solution.
It feels great when things are going your way and you're solving puzzles and making real progress, but when your luck runs out you'll feel frustrated that you have the solutions to 3-4 puzzles, but the correct rooms to enter them won't spawn.
I'd only play it on gamepass. Not enough quality of life to be worth a full $20.
it took me FIVE FUCKING DAYS just to have the coat room and the security room to be both useable just for a piddly fucking upgrade
That sucks. I always get the security room and upgrade in the same run. I didn't even realize it couldn't.
Your grandpa is giving you his land but only if you can find the 46th hidden room. You get to set the layout of the mansion as you navigate through the rooms and it resets each run.
I see. Well Im gonna put it on my wishlist for now and think about it if its ever gonna be on sale for 50% or more in the future.
$20
30 lol
So the 4 flames outside..
Orchard
Schoolhouse
Hovel
Any tips for the 4th one?
Oh fuck, lmao
compass
draw rooms that have a
>>>north
exit more often
I haven’t seen it yet either, must be in one of the green rooms which I rarely get.
Not enough quality of life to be worth a full $20.
It's 30.
But lets compare notes. What OBVIOUS quality of life changes do you think the game needs? My first one is the SLOW AS FUCK movement. aggravating.
Finally. That's been annoying me for an age.
Nice where did that come from? I guess there are small but eventually convenient gains.
is there any day limit like the demo or can you go as long as you need?
From the Breaker puzzle.
So far it seems limitless.
I open 3 and leave the rest alone.
Figure out what the colors mean on the fusebox.
Literally just did it, lol.
this game is your punishment for complaining about Portal being too short
That stupid cutscene at the start of each day. Nothing makes you feel worse after not making any progress then seeing a slow zoom-in eating up more of your precious time.
I think quality of life might be too light of a word for changes I'd make.
There should be more places to spawn outer rooms that you can unlock over time, or just let you pick whichever room you want in the only one. 37.5% chance I see the fucking crypt and it still won't show up after 7 runs.
I think there's too many resources to balance and they don't play nice with each other anyway. You'll end up key cucked or gem cucked due to forces out of your control.
By comparison, the stamina or steps feel pretty meaningless, and by extension the bedrooms clog up the layout pool (unless you get the thing that replaces gem costs with stamina, but that just makes gems meaningless).
I'm okay with the floppy disk upgrade picking a random room, but the upgrade should be pre-determined by the devs (in a perfect world this would be a reliable way to balance progress).
There's a lot of rooms that look like they were made to serve niche 'builds', but are just fluff that dilute the layout pool (stuff the outer room that increases dirt piles. Without a shovel it's useless, and with a shovel it's still not that great)
This shit is getting a little silly.
Good night.
I feel like the stamina is just a shitty way to prevent you from backtracking and making too much progress during a good run
pick root cellar
never find a shovel
haha...
Like half of those are for something and the rest are just filler. Only the tool shed and trading are any good.
