TLOU is good exactly because its gameplay looks completely unappealing to watch from an external perspective once you get over some novelties.

It's a true through and through game. It can only be understood and appreciated within the experience on grounded. Literally nothing that happened here means anything without context. And that context is fundamentally intricated with gameplay. Not even just instantiated gameplay, but both past and future gameplay in a sense. The current goal doesn't really encapsulate things.

One thing i noticed for example is the use of the Nail Bomb at the car. Using the car window as a bait was a really good thing and something i should keep in mind whenever next i get around to finishing TLOU.

But wasting one nail bomb...on one guy? That's insanity. I wouldn't even do such a thing as a joke. (And i would never replay and tarnish a good game)

The enemies in TLOU are much more advanced and work together to pull you out of cover and will actually use stealth against you.

One of the big plot points in TLOU2 is the ongoing war between two factions that were not in the first game and did not receive an actual explanation as to why they are at war past "uhhh because the other side killed someone years ago!" And other extremely vague examples.
The reason is ND is just not talented enough to write conflict that feels palpable, so any and all actions in the story are taken to the extreme degree that warrants another extreme reaction from the rest of the characters. Example:

Joel killed my dad, so I have to kill Joel

Abby killed my dad, so I have to kill all of her friends

This woman was in the room when Joel was killed, so I have to torture her

Hardly anything is meditated by the characters and hardly any decisions are taken with sensibility or thought.

Pretty sure there's no restrictions on cutscenes.
No Survivor is ok but it feels rushed. All of the content is recycled from the story just in isolated arenas and there isn't much mission variety. I played enough of it to unlock all the skins and have no desire to try it again.
