seasons are largely stand-alone and don't need to be watched in any particular order, but exceptions exist and some seasons have crossover slop that would briefly alienate newcomers to the series
If you want the absolute best the show has to offer then it's HeartCatch. Just be advised that HeartCatch is an excellent anime in general to the extent that it doesn't really do a good job of representing the rest of the series - I personally don't even count it as Precure because it's just too good to be precure despite exemplifying everything the show is meant to be.
A good "middle of the road" Precure might be Go Princess or Tropical Rouge if you want to see what you usually get from one of these shows.
