Naoe's gameplay is boilerplate AC content and it plays as well as any other entry, while warnigger's gameplay is basically anything BUT an AC game down to him being too clumsy for most shinobi acrobatics and just an african space marine brutalizing everyone he comes across

Idk if the artistic lead changed after Odyssey, but holy fucking shit, these game turned into chores to play, main story is no different in direction than side quests, there no music playing through cutscenes, or if there is it's quiet and shit. I do not get it, who decided that music doesn't elevate cutscenes and decided to remove it.
And don't even get me started on the fallout tier fixed camera and generic animations dialogue scenes. It's like Odyssey was the last game where people who cared about this shit were still working at Ubisoft.

there are things in this game that are definitely better than Valhalla, but imho not enough for me not to think that Im just playing AC Odyssey/Valhalla/Origins but set in Japan with a warnigger
there is no new quest design, fortresses have different layouts but after the 3rd fort and 12th samurai assassination youve essentially seen them all, it still has a forced base building mechanic and dogshit RPG mechanics, the combat is janky as fuck and the story is not good by any measure
I only mentioned yasuke being ok in terms of writing is because I expected far, far worse than what we got on that front. Hes still a warnigger who magically speaks Japanese from the get-go and only needed 6 months to become Nobunaga's retainer, advisor and samurai while humiliating scores of Japanese in his wake and hes equally out of place in an AC game with how he plays. The way you switch between characters is more often jarring than not too, with niether being a combat ally you can summon and the other one disappearing with no fucking explanation if you choose the other to do a mission
the game doesnt have any saving grace because Ghost of Tsushima did almost everything better, whereas the differences (changing seasons, parkour, collectibles and side objectives, playable characters) are boring and will not hold your attention after the 2nd meditation site and dance-dance revolution sword training

Ubisoft at this point, has lost the benefit of the doubt with a lot of people, regardless of the protagonist's race. Their formula is stale and is in need of a major shift. They've rested on their laurels for years and over those years, people were clamoring for a game set in Japan. And when they finally did it, they gave us Yasuke and tried to gaslight people into thinking he was way more important than he actually was.
And it just so happens development started around the George Floyd riots, so people can read between the lines and see what Ubisoft was trying to do.
They've already had an African protagonist in Origins, which is fine, it fits the location and time period. So, to then do this when going to Japan for the first time, it feels so disingenuous.

This all reeks of manipulation behind the scenes. Are the majority of people stupid enough to fall for it?
