The problem is that Jonathan himself doesn't really want you to do stuff like that because in his head you should always be struggling to kill stuff. Also they don't want to outright abandon the POE1 crowd so we get this weird limbo where both sides are unsatisfied with the current state of the game.
I also would much prefer if all classes played like that webm and that we had a full kit of skills at level 5, but with the way the game works it doesn't really get fun until you're deep in act 3, mobs also make it too hard to do cool combos because you're constantly rushed down, so you either nuke the screen or get killed before you can finish a full combo.
The devs just need to decide already what type of game they want to do and stick to it, also add the rest of the classes already instead of drip feeding us one by one every 4 months, I seriously doubt we'll hit 1.0 in just one year like it was said.

Played till T15, GGG hard nerfed the monsters and bosses around the time I was T1 in the endgame. The game was never the same. I quit yesterday because I was killing everything on 6 div budget. Res cap, 60k DPS (117k for 8 secs when I crit, which is extremely likely), 35% movement speed boots, 85% evasion. I became a God in 2 days of endgame. My DPS in the first day of endgame straight out of campaign was 6.3k. The next day it was 33k, the after that - 60k. I lost all will to play. This game is too easy and is made for the triple vaxxed 85 IQ redditards who play with their monitors turned off. This game should never become D4 or PoE. We need meaningful and skilled combat, but they dumb down everything at every possible opportunity. Gradually I began to hate them.

I still have a hope for the game for better or worse. It could become my favorite game of all time, but GGG should spend less time listening to redditards. Those subhumans started the game at the same time as me and were still complaining about the Count in Act 1, when I was already blasting through the endgame. They deserve the rope and nothing else. This would greatly improve the genetic pool in the long run.

The reason it died is because devs put a retardly high ammounts of effort and budget on graphics/engine which resulted in not only your typical dev hell, but also every single facet of the actual gameplay beyond the core basics being put on a backseat

weapons are progressively more likely to be carelessly, randomly put together and unbalanced as you get past the tier 1 drops

special attacks are outright not made with any regards to balance, unique purposes and comparison to one another. The animators made 999 fancy animations without factoring in gameplay and just put them on runes that predominantly play like burst damage special attacks

the focus system (for casting special attacks) is fundamentally shitty even if they remove the biggest offenders, it inevitably makes the game braindead. Either you have too little focus for the game to let you have a fleshed out moveset, or you have enough move for casting 1 burst attack over and over being always the best thing you can do. No in between

the enemy visuals and animation are all good in a vacuum until you get to player tracking, enemy tracking, hitboxes (if you dont wanna rollslop), the functionality of mechanics like stagger bar, lock-on etc are all fucked

imagine making a game with millions of dollars of budget but being unable to afford to make the affixes on the 'unique' weapons actually function, or elemental damage bonuses apply properly

Apparently they went back on "1 rare per boss" rule, nuked minions (and apparently majority of selfcast spells that were propped by archmage) as an archetype, scaled rare minion HP to kingdom come, supposedly did something to overall loot or made it too much of an RNG.

The idea of having to do combinations of 3-4 skills every time you want to do barely correct DPS sounds cool in theory but is awful in practice, and having one primary skill and a handful of supplementary skills to use only in some situations, against stronger monsters or just when you, as a player, want some variety, is way more fun and entertaining.

Tying skills to your weapon is also a horrible idea that is already showing its limits and the creativity and skills-interactions in this game is almost non existent. Devs have a couple of builds per class they want you to use and that's it. It's nothing like the huge toolbox PoE 1 was in which you were completely free to come up with your own exotic build.

Also, I think that if you want to make a game that has the opposite game design philosophy of PoE 1, you shouldn't call it PoE 2. Just make a new IP. If you're calling it PoE 2, then fans of the first game will rightfully expect an upgraded version of PoE 1, not Elden Ring in isometric view.

Good luck to GGG anyways, they're not bad people but I am predicting that PoE 2 direction just won't work, and all the people defending PoE 2 I have engaged have admitted they didn't play the latest update, so it is very possible that none of the shills you're talking to in this thread have actually even touched the game.

The point of games like this is to optimize the grind.
It all looks great, but they would have to remove grinding, currency, trading, etc. from the game to make it work.
If you only have to kill every boss once, that's a great mechanic. If you need to farm, I sincerely hope you can fly, because jumping out the nearest window headfirst will soon look like a preferable alternative.

In my highly scientific chart, this is basically how the two games play. In PoE1 You are very weak at the start with very few options and very few pieces of gear and then the campaign gets very easy once you get some gear and your skills online. Then it gets hard at about the time you start facing pinnacle bosses until you blow past them with gear and the game becomes a econ trading sim at that point.

Now PoE2 starts similar to PoE1 where the game starts hard but the campaign is tuned right now to make it always hard and gear is only a stop gap solution for a nominal amount of time. Then mapping hits and it stays very hard until you get enough currency/gear to just blow past all the content like in PoE1.

Your chart just shows Act 2 needs some futher pacing balancing. I played Huntress and because she was so weak in early game I played super conservatively and slowly. And I noticed that I was still underlevel each time I entered a new area. If they buff the XP gain so that you're 1-2 levels above a new area if you bother doing the sidequests in each area, then the campaign would feel much easier while still being close to the "vision" for racing and speedrunners.

I re installed the game and it is definitely a fun and enjoyable game. From what I can tell, the campaign isn't a slog anymore and I've only just started breaking into the end game but everything seems

The problem isn't that she is weak. She's one of the strongest characters and fastest levelers with the twister build build but everything else she has is completely undertuned. It's the same problem that ruined PoE1 where a handful of builds are massively overpowered and the rest are unplayable garbage.

The chart doesn't really do a good job of stating the time difference of the games. POE 1 doesn't get hard until pinnacle bossing and none of the game is blocked by extremely annoying content like having to do sanctum to get your ascendancy points. (the lab in POE1 is so inconsequential now that even if you have a bad build or didn't get enough gear you can out level it.) You can't really do that in POE 2 with the sanctum ascendancy stuff. I had a few of my alts just buy runs for ascendancy points because they were melee and it was legit a badly designed mechanic for melee.
