Hell, Miyamoto really is someone who designed and created the Mario and Donkey Kong cast and directed games, but many people misatribute all the classic games to him, especially SNES classics to being personally directed by him, when many were directed by Takashi Tezuka. The thing is that Tezuka looks like a sketchy pervert, so I can see why they only focus on Miyamoto who is more like a Willy Wonka man of magical creations type anyways.
