I tried playing smash ultimate on night hours in europoor, and the game was dead on week 1-2, I could only see couple of different lobbies, and that was when the game was recently released, "big fucking tendie online game" had so little player playing during night hours. I would understand if the game had been out for 3-4 years, but this was literally fucking same fucking month or week 1-2 of the game. Splatoon 2 was so pitiful that I had to use a VPN so I could play with other people from different regions when my own region was asleep

I wonder what OP thinks about the other paid online models who do the same thing but don't have the Nintendo brand on them

Even dead pc games can have players on active 6-10pm slots, but it's the night hours that are the real test of online gaming (usually solved with region hopping, but splatoon 2 and many switch games don't allow it, so only vpn solves that)

Not that anon, but I have a NSO subscription (which is used for the online on some Switch games) but also use Duckstation and PPSSPP on my phone. One thing does not prevent the other like you might think.

nintendo online is service you pay that you will not get to own, and will eventually run out. A pc component you buy you can use even if your PC gets older, and you own the component. Are you telling me gamers only play video games and do nothing else?

I don't think you understand that people like myself can have zero reason to (re)consider PC gaming if the Switch console is more than enough to do the vidya tasks, and for the better convenience, alongside of a phone that take care of the two retro console systems I do care about.
The day I'll have to replace my computer, due of hardware failure or whatever, I'll stick to something more office-tier.

The drip feed is ridiculous, and if we’re being honest, none of the games on the basic NSO package are worth more than $1-3 USD. N64 games probably shouldn’t be sold for more than $5 if the Wii’s VC pricing is anything to go by. Games should lose value with time + access. And yeah, I know that the total combined value of the apps is higher than the (one-time) NSO price if you use my suggested prices, but I also know that (You) aren’t playing everything on the apps. We should have a free option for NSO with cheaper tiers that let you select which emulators you want. Real purchase options should be available for the retro games, as well.
