My kids love it. Hacked it and they are playing Nintendogs on it.

I never had a DS or a 3DS. What games did I miss out on?

Nothing because I'm not 11. Only children play Nintendo games.

I use it to play mp3s in my car, which it's barely adequate for. It's pretty miserable as a gaming machine.

I bought a new 3ds recently but I can visually tell that the 3d effect is worse on this new one than it was on my old one when I have them side by side. I actually like using the 3d effect so this was annoying as fuck to find out after I bought it. But I haven't seen anything online about the 3d effect being better or worse on some systems or degrading over time or anything like that, has anybody experienced something similar?
My old one was white and the new one is red so I believe the red one was produced further back, both are the original 3ds models.

Why? It has one of the best libraries ever since it can also play GBA and DS games without emulation (you need to hack it for GBA games but it still plays them without emulation due to the hardware)
Then if you hack it you also have all the homebrew and shit. It can even emulate the PS1

ZL/ZR for left/right camera movement helps a lot. C-stick only for up/down. Would not play on original 3ds.

There's an add on that gives you a second stick and an analog nub if you are using a New 3DS

I'm this fag I'm currently using an Absol in my playthrough and HOLY SHIT this dude is so WEAK it's unreal. He gets 1 or 2 shot every single time. I can never switch it in and when I start fights with him he dies anyways.

Thought he's good because he can learn false swipe and thunderwave and has pressure as an ability for SOS hunting. But no. He's just trash.

You're thinking of Unit 731 for the VITA. It's a bit fucked up that they made a game about it but the soundtrack was really good.

On the internet, silly, I can't access physically to these consoles.

I enjoyed some games on 3DS, but that was despite the hardware not because of it. The screen is terrible and very tiny. The shape fits well in the pocket but isn't that comfortable to hold. I really don't like the buttons, they are stiff and barely move when pressed. After playing PSP so many years, I really didn't like the 3DS, and I also found it even less comfortable than my old DSi XL. The older PSP and original GBA were much more comfortable to play. I probably shouldn't have bought original 3DS, it would have been better to wait for the XL. My friends and I were excited for Mario Kart 7 at the time.

Also I wouldn't play GBA or DS on 3ds, let alone any emulators. The old DSi XL is much better for those. I even have four GBAs just to play Mario Kart and some of the other games with link cables when I get the opportunity.

I don't play that many portable games anymore though. I used to play a lot in my school days. Now if I'm away from home, I usually don't have time to sit and play. When I play portable systems now I still play them at home. Because of that, if I use an emulator, it's usually on PC.

I played a fair amount of 3DS games after the system came out, but I'm not aware of any more I want to try. I don't really want to replay any either. I ended up with the 3DS just sitting until I needed an mp3 player to just stay plugged into my car. I didn't want to use my phone having to plug and unplug it all the time, and also having to switch between dongle and charging the phone and so on.

That's the downside of an Absol. Slow and frail but powerful offensively. Get Sucker Punch to mitigate the speed and equip a Razor Claw to spam Crits with Night Slash and Psycho Cut.

I'm not sure when, but if you can get an Absolite it becomes WAY fucking better.

i'm pretty excited about it, my kid is too young for games yet but i let her hold the right side of it and told her to press A on my command and we did the first few stages of SMB 3D land with me moving and her jumping, which was technically her first time playing vidya

No. When I was younger I spent all my money on gaming stuff or legos, so I was using PSP/dsi/3ds for music all that time. My old phones all got either traded in or worn down until the batteries were useless. I was doing construction work and having to use these phones, even if it was raining or -35f, it was quite rough on them.

I could buy a used smartphone or mp3 player for 20 bucks, but that's 20 bucks I don't really need to spend.

If you have the money then a DS Lite with an R4 and EZ Flash Definitive Edition. You can use Pal Park and don't need to deal with GBARunner3's spotty compatibility with most GBA games (it can't even run Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga). But if you only care about Pokemon or whatever then I guess you can use PkHeX for transfer. But generally DS Lite is better for DS games

Playing music is surely easier on it than playing games

You can pick them up on AliExpress but they will run you a decent amount. It is better though because you can play ROM Hacks absolutely perfectly with the original resolution and you can use it on any device with a GBA slot on it. Also the EZ Flash Definitive Edition is the only one which will allow you to transfer Pokemon from Gen 3 to 4. If you're really autist about playing on original hardware then it is the best deal you can get imo

I finished New Super Mario 1. Now playing 2. They're not the best Mario games, but they're fun enough. I wanted to play them since they came out but never had a DS. Feels good catching up.
I also made 3 custom themes. I was very proud of myself because I'm a bit of a midwit so it was a difficult process.

I would play Pokemon romhacks on my DS/3DS but no speedup is kinda ass because a lot of the (frankly worse) romhacks are made with the assumption that you can speed up the game 5x and grind

recently I found my old Tomodachi save file from 10 years ago and I'm enjoying it all over again.

This particular one lets you manage your EV's on the summary screen and caps you before gym and boss battles so grinding is minimal.

I hacked it and installed all the Marios, Kirbys, Metroids etc. from all the consoles it emulates but I don't play it because of abysmal screen. I have the XL version and I can literally see gaps between pixels.

I need to hack mine, is there a way to still do it with the eshop shutdown?
