back buttons seem nice. i can definitely see using them for games like BotW where the jump button is awkward to use while moving the camera.

Yes, older Pro Controllers compatible with the Nintendo Switch 1 will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 as well. The button placement is nearly identical, apart from the new “C” button and the back buttons found on the new Pro Controllers. It is also worth pointing out that the older Pro Controller does not have a headphone jack, meaning you will not be able to use wired headphones or earphones for GameChat functionality.

Switch 1 pro controllers work, but supposedly it won't be able to turn on the Switch which is a bit of an inconvenience, though this isn't 100% confirmed. The only additions to the Switch 2 versions is the C button and 2 customizable buttons on the back.
