Man Sony sure has a lot of money to pretend like this game is good, huh...

Man Sony sure has a lot of money to pretend like this game is good, huh? Maybe they should spend that on actually making a real game instead of gaslighting the gaming public that they care what you want.

Man OP sure has a lot of schizophrenia to pretend that he knows the game is bad without even having played it, huh?

They tried the same with Horizon: zero sales

Well everyone else said so. It must be true.

No one's saying it's bad, it's forgettable.

Games like this should be rental-tier, not winning GotYs industry-wide.

It's telling how easy it was to completely rape nintendo at their own game with Astro bot.

How is it forgettable? Anon Babble has several daily threads seething over it.

Winning awards doesn't mean a game is good.

Go crying. They helped give us adult kino in SB and kid kino in Astro. Playstation is for the players.

Go crying

Kill yourself, ESL.

Astro Bot would have been more soulful if its myriad of references wasn't the central focus of the experience.

Astro's Playroom had the right idea (all the cameos were background characters acting out various PlayStation franchises and you felt like a real fan for being able to see what they were going for). Instead they took the bot rescue gameplay from Rescue Mission (which was admittedly a good gameplay focus) and then smushed a bunch of PS franchise cameos in among them and took all the bots you rescue and put them in a single, featureless space where they can act out a short skit representing their franchise. Playroom dotted them all around the environments and made the game's focus about the platforming and collecting PlayStation hardware.

Being good makes it good. You should play it.

fair, now go tell that to the millions of ps5 owners who didn't

How is that related?

explain why the game flopped if it's so good and won so many awards then
fwiw i do think the game is good (but not killer app tier good) by nu-playstation game standards and that it's a shame that it flopped this badly

How did it "flop?" You're all over the place.

how did it not flop? you're coping.

Because Sony doesn't know their own audience? Besides, I doubt it's seen as a flop internally, which is the only metric that should matter to us here on the outside wanting more. Team Asobi is still intact and Sony seems to be thinking more broadly about how to apply Astro Bot's appeal.

sony is going to make a movie out of a game that barely sold instead of making another A/AA game

hilarious

Snoytrannies spend decades making fun of BING BING WAHOO

their only actual game since Bloodborne was a literal copy of Mario Sunshine

KWAB

anon they're giving it the horizon treatment by forcing it onto players with bundles
it's a telltale sign that they consider it to have flopped
which, again, is a shame, because it does genuinely look fun, even if i don't like the playstation advertisement aspect of it

It’s used solely as a console/culture war token. People barely talk about the actual game because if it’s just fine. If it had been released in 2003 it would’ve been considered just another 3D platformer on the pile.

they're still mad

Are you retarded?

The whole "it's a game from a different time" thing shouldn't be regarded as a superficial quality.

only sold 2.5m despite all the marketing behind it

i'm sorry anon, but it flopped
the playstation audience has shit taste

Why is Sony so obsessed with getting shitty movies and shows based on every single IP they own

I will say a movie is probably the wrong approach for Astro Bot. This sort of thing feels more suitable for a web series of shorts.

Breath of the Wild won GotY

Is Astro a scrimblo bimbo or whatever the fuck that term is?

Used by whom?

Based Astro Bot

Anon Babble has several daily threads seething over it.

It's more that you keep on making threads and we laugh at you.

It's a classic 3D platformer but with great control, taking full advantage of a system's features (or, controller's features in this case) that gives it an enjoyable feeling when you play
it's got a pretty solid amount of content
lots of neat little gimmicks keep things fresh
it's a really really solid game. I don't get the hatred honestly. Exclusives are what drive the medium forward. They show us what works.

People aren't mad at the game, they're mad at the recognition because they think it's "not enough" of a game or something.

most games that win goty arent even good. modern games are just that shit

d-d-doesn't count

seething

I don't make threads.
