I think it was in the trailer, but the main reason is the upsurge of ironic film adaptation memes as of late. After the announcement of Jack Black's role in the movie, some guy made a song that goes like

Holy shit I'm building bricks cause I'm in fuckin' Minecraaaaft

And then the trailers came out where Jack is just using his Tenacious D voice when talking about random elements in the game. The movie is objectively trash and Jack knows what he's doing, you don't just "hire" Jack Black to be in your movie. You have to give him some musical scenes and let him be a backseat director. This movie is just a giant parody where him and Momoa fuck around.
