Everything is wrapped in an ugly Unreal Engine ass textures. Some NPCs classic voices and dialog have been changed. Combat and movement/general gameplay feels stiff and wooden. Objects have disgusting and jarring and immersion breaking glow when you hover over them.

The vampire eye color from classic Oblivion is available as one of the many eye options in character creation.

Original just had a consistency to movement, gameplay and world physics that Unreal Engine seems incapable of achieving with any title.
I don’t know what it is about modern games but there is something so jarring about the movement and combat in all of them.

Older games just didn’t have this. Due to the simplicity of movement, while it may have been robotic, it was consistent with the gameworld and felt like you were truly in control of it.

it was the anniversary edition. Alongside the Halo 2 one. Reason people think they are good is because you can swap between the old/new look with the press of a button. I genuinely think all remasters should have this option.
The MCC collection was actually not very well received at launch. But it did include both Anniversary editions.

Witcher 3 is a good example of a game in between these movement philosophies. The "Movement Response" setting has two options:

"Standard" is the new movement type where responsiveness is sacrificed as animations are prioritized.

"Alternative" is more old-school, with responsiveness coming at the cost of janky movement.

It's great that players were given a choice and a shame it's not commonplace.

I personally prefer the Alt movement scheme. I still haven't finished RDR2 because it feels like Arthur is permanently drunk lol

This is actually one of my problems with the remaster.
First of all, in terms of remasters, this is better than what almost any other company has put out. However, there's something about the character models specifically that makes it feel a little soulless and more MMO-y or "high quality" mobile game-y; It feels a little plastic.

I hate what they've done to the difficulty, it's objectively worse now. Previously you had a sliding scale, now adept is at like 40% of the original scale and you can only chose expert as the next step up which puts it at like 75%. So basically you can have everyone going down in 2-5 hits and doing piss poor damage to you or needing to kite around a single wolf that 2-3 shots you and takes 17+ fireballs to kill. Summons and I think poison (haven't tested the latter yet) still don't give a shit about scaling so if you want the game to be harder than something a toddler can handle you'll be just summoning skeletons and running around for half the game.
This is an even bigger issue than the original level scaling problems.

I think it's funny how Skyrim became more and more like Oblivion, through Legendary > Special > Anniversary it became a lot more brighter, bloomier, colorful and softer and I didn't like it at all, but now Oblivion itself got re-released again and it looks a lot more like the original Legendary Edition Skyrim than the Skyrim remasters you can buy today. You can't move them by hitting/punching them, but you can still move them with arrows and spells. Probably a bug.

With the exception of a quest specific mount, horses exist in the overworld as NPCs. If you left your horse in the wilderness it will more than likely die before you can ever find it again.

No. If you find a quest item it will automatically add the quest to your queue. If you have to go back to a location for a quest within the respawn timeframe it will just be easier.

I've only heard of people openly liking the remaster for Halo 2. The first remaster's modern graphics had a weird mismatched aesthetic, and the togglable "original mode" didn't look as good as the actual original, although I think this was eventually patched in the master chief collection several years later.

yes there is, but you need to zoom all way down and then zoom again or click the top right circle when you open the map

What's a good modlist for the original oblivion? I've tried painted world but it seems incredibly unstable crashing all the time.

4090 and can't even get 60 in the open world at 1440p. I don't really like the graphics either. Modded Oblivion looks better with the only problem being the awful LODs and grass pop ins.

restart your computer and all the saves you didn't save will be there or at least that's how it was for me

Yep, unless you had the Atronach birthsign. Health didn’t though. Stamina also naturally regenerated over time.

What? Been playing haven't noticed this at all. Other points yeah yeah sure but this ehhh. I bodyshot a guy he takes damage. Yeah it not as location based as othergame but compared to Skyrim or og oblivion I don't don't see a difference.

I think the most offensive thing by far is that they just ran the whole thing though an upscale AI and called it a day. No humans were involved in the game at any point (maybe some Indians were though) and it's the sloppiest fucking slop imaginable. There's literally so much shit going on that it destroys the original aesthetics completely, and the combat is the floatiest shitslop known to man. Barely any npc reaction to getting hurt and most of the time they run up and try to stand in the same exact spot as you so the fight just turns to aimless flailing.

The whole thing feels fake, because it is.
