Ps3: Never had any stick drift

Ps3: Never had any stick drift
Ps4: Never had any stick drift
Ps5: On my 3rd controller in two years

Dude stick drift is an inevitability, we all need to switch to Hall Effect(tm) because old joystick technology ALWAYS develops stick drift dude!!!!

Do people just have the memory of a goldfish?
Do they believe propaganda over their lying eyes?

none of my PS5 controllers have issues but I don't play it much (no gaymes lel)
I do remember a PS2 controller or two having "sticky" sticks that wouldn't return to neutral very well though, but they might've been some third party pads with how long ago that was

Yeah just because you didn't get drift doesn't mean it didn't exist. Maybe you just didn't play that many games before. I've used mine for 70h past last 2 weeks(on PC kek) and this thing is 3 years old. No drift yet while I've had drift on pretty much every other controller I've had.

hall effect isn't new technology
the fucking vita had hall effect sticks

I'm thinking about buying PS controller for PC, should i get dualsense or DS4 is enough for PC?

I don't know what to tell you, but I had to change 3 controllers for PS4 in 2 years (got one through a warranty and then the replacement went to shit after the warranty expired so I had to buy a new one) meanwhile I'm 2 years into owning a PS5 and still using the same controller although the PS5 itself I had to replace through warranty since my guess is they fucked up the placement of the fan on mine so it kept making loud noises like it was hitting something. Once I got my replacement I also learned the various HDMI, USB, ethernet etc. ports weren't so shit it was just the PS5 I got. When I was a kid I only had a PS1 and then was a PC gamer after so I wouldn't be able to compare those controllers, but I did have a 360 controller for PC that went to shit a little over a year into use.

It’s crazy to me how quickly my Xbox series X controllers got stuck drift. I’ve never tossed out nearly new controllers before. It happened nearly instantly after buying the console.

Modern console makes should be ashamed. Glad I mainly play on PC.

a lot of it is ergonomic preference, but I guess the PS4 has a bit better battery life. I think you can count the PC games that support the Dualsense triggers on on hand, and it might need some special snowflake drivers and program but I'm not sure

how is any of it "technology"? the joycon sticks are made out of cheap material and a spring

can confirm, if you want hall effect wait for third party

Prefer dualsense myself. More comfortable to my hands and has couple more features than ds4

Do dualsense can be used as wired controller and not using it's battery? since i read somewhere that even though you connect dualsense with wire it still consume the battery and when it runs out it cease to function even though it's wired

of course it can. what a weird question. there's some stuff that doesn't work wirelessly on pc like the microphone

Ps5: On my 3rd controller in two years

Stop fucking buying them, retard

3rd controller

lmao stop being a retard and just solder new 1$ sticks.

My friend who plays games on PC with controllers had his PS5 controller start drifting within just a couple of years
His PS4 controller never did that
We noticed it playing MHW as his GS wakeups would get fucked up because the character would keep shifting on their own because of the stick drift

I am trying to convert him into 360 controllers but hasn't budged as of yet

My PS2 controllers endured hundreds of hours of Budokai/2/3 and do not have stick drift after that kind of abuse.
Modern controllers are a scam. Plain and simple.

don't notice stick drift for decades because no one was shoving it down your throat 24/7 on forums or on internet news outlets

suddenly stick drift is the only thing anyone talks about

suddenly you notice it

Based

There's zero reason to use 360 in modern age. If one wants xbox controller then get series x controller. It's still lackluster in features compared to pretty much any modern controller but still better than fricking 360 controller.

It's all about comfort bro, I love my DS4s (and have a handful in the box for when they eventually die over the years), got a Dualsense and couldn't get used to it, it legit hurts my hands lmao, which is a shame cause overal is just better.

this is the dumbest conspiracy theory, the console peripheral market is full of competition, nobody is purposefully making bad controllers

PS3: Micro-USB connector inevitably fails

PS4: Micro-USB connector inevitably fails

PS5: USB-C at long last

FTFY

Ps4: Charging port wears out extremely quickly, especially if you've ever made the mistake of playing while charging.
I think I'm just going to buy an xbox controller when this ps4 controller finally stops charging.

I have my Dualsense since December and so far no stick drift
However I had one ds4 that had a really annoying one
Still, I have an old ds3 and ds4 that are drift-free after all these years and ready to use as backup once my dualsense get it
Dualsense is better to hold in my opinion, face buttons/joystick are more silent except the r1/l1 which are loud (if you're autistic about sound like me)
I had one for 3 years with no stick drift, was perfectly working (until I spilled water on it)

Do dualsense need the playstation app or DS4 windows is enough?

planned obsolescence is just in our heads right

The one thumbstick producer that everyone uses created faulty products but both sony and nintendo already bought 100 million pieces so they cant just switch it out without encurring huge losses

The exact same thing happened with airbags a few years ago

>PS3: Micro-USB connector inevitably fails

It's mini actually

no games to play

no stick drift

They're all made in the same chink factories with zero QA done on them, doesn't matter if it's a first party or third party controller, you're playing russian roulette even if you go for a premium $150 controller. Hall effect doesn't mean a stick won't drift either.
The same goes with gamer mice costing over $120 + $30 for the dongle or else you can't use your 8k rate which will suddenly start double clicking after a year or have a completely fucked mousewheel (looking at you endgame gear).

been playing games since genesis and have never had to replace a controller until the most recent gen i've gone through 3 xbox series x controllers 2 playstation controllers 4 fucking joycons and 2 pro controllers

You know what I really fucking hate in controllers? Neutral overshoot.
Press the stick fully in a direction and then release it - on shitty controllers the stick gets pulled back a gnats testicle PAST neutral and registers like 1 frame of input in the opposite direction, which is enough in some games to make your character pivot 180 and start attacking or whatever in completely the wrong direction.
That shit drives me bananas if there's no deadzone control.

Ps4: Never had any stick drift

Must be nice.

If I didn’t lose my job and become poor, I’d probably have all of those clear controllers Xbox released.

Mine started drifting after, like, seven years after I bought the console. My PS5 controller drifted after little over a year.

I had stick drift on my ps3 controller back in the day, the sticks even got stuck and wouldnt return to center on their own.

I bought mine second hand and it happened to have immediate drift, albeit occasional. Regrettably bought a third party controller, and it wasn't as comfortable. I just don't feel like buying controllers anymore.

What kind of drooling retard can't tell that a stick is constantly moving one way.
That's the shit controller you gave Kyle because that little faggot still hasn't returned the copy of Pokemon you let him borrow. Fuck Kyle and fuck you.

Not bad controllers. Just worse than what they used to. We have had the technology and techniques to manage this issue for decades. And it's not just hall effect. Deadzone management. Automatic recentering. None of that is new. Some of that doesn't cost any money at all.

If they make it too good and long lasting then it would sell less since they never broke
