Are you enjoying season 2, travellers?

Are you enjoying season 2, travellers?

What build are you running? I started with a zoo necro and am now playing a lightning blast runemaster.

file.jpg - 1920x1080, 1.11M

haven't played it since the beta, what have they added since release?

I was playing primalist, swapped to sentinel because I want to spin to win just like I did in diablo 3

spinarooni.gif - 408x306, 3.11M

they added an endgame tree similar to the poe atlas trees

file.png - 1224x1076, 1.35M

Same, I tend to judge ARPGS based on how good their Whirlwind skill/build feels to play

Something about this game just puts me off. Literally unable to understand why. I've tried multiple times and I just can't get into it. I think that the Skill system they have is an almost perfect middleground between PoEtism and Diablo's complete lack of anything and that the systems at endgame are great because you can choose to completely ignore trading for benefits and crafting isn't just an RNG piece of shit.

Still in normal monoliths (I just completed the level 85 one, but I'm running Spellblade as my starter.
It is so amazingly braindead. Once I unlocked the Gemini node, all I have done since then is hold Mana Strike and Shatter Strike together down across a map and face tank everything. I haven't used a potion since.
Been collecting random Acolyte gear and I'm gonna make some shit build of my own with that, once I hit 300 corruption on Spellblade.

season 2

no changes to classes

KEK
the combat has no impact/weight to it as you walk through mobs with no collision and they fall over with the same animation/sound effect

the combat has no impact/weight

Maybe it's that. I dunno, the game just feels cheap somehow. I wish I could enjoy it because as I said the skill system is amazing, but I just feel incredibly detached and bored while trying to play.

the maps are also linear and narrow so you dont even have to figure out where to go as the borders are unfogged immediately

Was gonna give it a try. Went to steam and saw a bundle with “epoch points” and various cosmetic slop. Why? Why is gaming like this in 2025? Everytime I get the urge to play something other than my retro crap im met with this trite and it instantly reminds me why I play my retro crap

Something about this game just puts me off.

For me it's the Janky as fuck animations of spells, say what you will about PoE 2 but the animations are pretty damn good.

Not played this for months it really is an awful game I hate how it played just like D2 at the start and when you get over the 2 hour refund timer it starts becoming a shitty D3/POE clone with garbage bosses that ruin the game. I don't want to run around in circles avoiding one shots. I want to kill enemies and find loot. I wish these POEwannabe games would just all fucking die.

and thats a good thing
play path of excrement if you enjoy walking around mazes at a snails pace

suddenly poe

LMAOOOO rent free. even diablo 1/2 had randomized maps to keep things interesting

yes that put me off too. but it's just cosmetics. the entire game is included in the base game price. the game also lets you play it fully offline with saves stored on your PC so you can pretend it's a single player game.

diablo 1/2 were bad games and a product of their time. they don't hold up today and I can only hope more devs stop pretending diablo is something to revere.

implying diablo meta wasn't just rerolling the zone for a straightforward layout and then bossrunning it x10000 without it resetting

shit taste

illiterate

that makes sense now. I wasn't speaking on the quality of the game as a whole but on level/map design. stay in school

implying

thats an option for metaslaves like yourself while people who play casually also has the option to not do so while enjoying non-linear, narrow maps. Now thats good game design that indians like you will never grasp, Ranjeet

Something about this game just puts me off

It's made in Unity so it'll forever look like a mobile game until they decide to use a different engine for the sequel.

unironically d4 has the best gameplay and most fun arpg right now. even if its only for 1-3 weeks. (as it should be) . no one should play arpgs more than few weeks per half a year.

I abandoned that game when they made the expansion I aint buying that shit.

The systems in this game are cool but the game just looks bad.

Everyone complains about how the first playthrough is too easy compared with the post endgame content, but that also seems to be the ony complain about the game.
So with that in mind, we could tell that this game is good?.

the combat has no impact/weight to it as you walk through mobs with no collision and they fall over

100% if they had a brain they would work on this first before everything.
combat need feedback and everything needs to be punchy .
it just feels hollow right now

The endgame gets a bit too repetitive ( even for the ARPG standards ). The endgame is basically spamming the same boring monoliths ad infinitum till you get enough gear to fight uber aberoth

Got bored after like three days and uninstalled
This game gave me massive d3 vibes

Played a bunch but still doesn't feel like they've done enough. Maybe they can use this s2 release to build momentum and release a follow up content patch in a month or two instead of a year.
We're also getting project d2 season 11 next month and they're adding gamepad support and wasd to diablo 2. Wasd was good in new season of epoch too

So it's the exact same as PoE's endgame that everyone praises like crazy?

Its enough to sate my hunger for arpgs for now. Waiting for TQ2 and grim dawn dlc

PoE's endgame is more diverse with more end game / pinnacle bosses and a decade worth of season mechanics in it. The combat is more satisfying too.

Lightning Jav paladin has been very fun
Wish they would remove the gender lock from classes and give you some customization, d4 was right to do so

Diverse

So you mean way more busy work and less actual playing the game?
I fucking HATE that shit so much, I just want to play the game and don't do retarded mechanics and systems that just exist to be busywork.

PoE2 suffers from the cancer of balancing and lack of builds.
there is a reason 80% of the playerbase is playing 1 skill
atleast in LE you can literally play anything without feeling like a retard for crippling yourself with shit build

I'm talking about POE1.
POE2 end game gets boring fast because is lacks end game content/diversity and there are like 3 good builds in the game.

lacks end game content/diversity

Busywork is NOT content

PoEs endgame had that because of like 7 years of 3.x content
Before Breach poe had Atziri, Shaper and Guardians and that's it

It literally is. You just dont enjoy this kind of content.

Fire warpath.
Comfy spin2win

I like PLAYING the game, not click on a billions different trees and click in points that adds nothing but busywork and prevents me from PLAYING.

As i said : A decade worth of content.
Also, LE has only ONE uber boss atm.

where are the map/uber bosses?

We're also getting project d2 season 11 next month and they're adding gamepad support and wasd to diablo 2

is that some kind of private mod league? I guarantee 100% of the playerbase of that thing is russians

diverse

>with more end game / pinnacle bosses

anon you gotta finish reading the sentence before having a tantrum
what he means is that instead of just having aberoth imagine a bunch more aberoths with different fights and mechanics!
instead of gearing up to fight one big bad boss, you can pick several different ones to work towards

thats because of like 7 years of content

>a decade worth of season mechanics in it

he said that too

Im not hating on LE btw. I think its a fine game and have 135 hours in it which isnt much for an ARPG. I'm hoping that with enough time it'll have a huge amount of shit to do just like POE and unlike D4.

warpath forgemaster
it's comfy but game is kinda easy

crafting, building and interacting with season mechanics is playing the game. You just dont enjoy it.
Saying these things are not "playing the game", is the same as saying turn based rpgs are not video games because you spend most of your time interacting with the menu.

Show your hardcore pinnacle bosses clears

Its an ARPG anon, not a simulator game. Anything that hinders and prevents me from slaughtering monsters and drop loot is not content.
There's a reason why PoE has an AWFUL player retention, people play through the campaign and instantly drop the game because the "endgame" systems are just awful and shit.

Having mechanics doesnt make it less ARPG. You're just retarded and vampire survivors might fit your tastes better.

Am I the only one who prefers LE's graphics to something like PoEs? I think stylized cartoony graphics ala WoW's will always look (and run) better than hyper-realistic huge budget shit.

file.png - 1920x1080, 3.49M

Poorfag cope

Busywork is NOT content

KEK

is that some kind of private mod league?

Yea. Player base is mostly millennial dads since it's a slop clicker. Very fun.

Titan Quest still king after 20 years
Grim Yawn was made by the same team and it managed to be worse
could sink 1000 hours into TT but i can't touch Last Epoch and Yawn

No idea how you got hooked on TQ. I found it so boring compared to GD. Though they're all different flavours of the same formula so whatever

Played Erasing Strike, beat normal Aberroth, pushed 600 something corruption and got bored. Nowhere near strong enough for uber.
Game's good for a week here and there, much like Diablo 3. I'll definitely play it again sometime.

how was erasing strike? would you recommend it?

the graphics are fine but something about a lot of the spell effects and lighting really shows just how stock-engine the game is

The art style is one thing, but you barely any weight to the skills and hits so it always feels like you're mowing down paper dolls instead of actual monsters. The ragdolling makes this even worse.

Torchlight 2 had better moment-to-moment combat feel for something that has a similar art style.

It's really fucking strong, yeah. Feels clunky before you have a lot of mana, once you do the damage is off the charts. Make sure to put screen shake on.

They're both good, imo. I like that one game has a realistic look and the other has a stylized look. Better than both looking the same.
Also, I feel like the realistic look works for PoE when you get to more grotesque/horror themed maps. Visuals there are neat, with all the blood and gore and entrails and shit.

What's the most satisfying build to speed farm with in LE rn?

Time to make another character. What do I roll, Anon Babbleirginbros? And is it easy to skip campaign stuff? I only remember something to do with using the dungeons, but I forgot the process entirely.

we

I can't tell shit, you filthy homosexual.
