IT TAKES ME 20 FUCKING EBONY ARROWS TO TAKE DOWN A SPRIGGAN WITH AN EBONY BOW

IT TAKES ME 20 FUCKING EBONY ARROWS TO TAKE DOWN A SPRIGGAN WITH AN EBONY BOW

D.png - 1264x1276, 670.99K

NOOOO I CAN'T CHEESE THE GAME USING A STEALTH ARCHER BUILD AGAIN!!!

Select hard

wtf why is everything so hard? Patch now!

Why not just go back down to the previous difficulty?

Its not hard though just tedious spamming 20 arrows into an enemy.
I would gladly take more damage over bullet sponge enemies

Try to cheese with wabbajack

Get two shot by a daedroth.

sdsd.jpg - 563x565, 23.64K

NOOOOOOOOOO I CAN'T CHOOSE AN EASIER DIFFICULTY OR THE INTERNET IN MY MIND WILL TELL ME IT'S A SKILL ISSUE

are zoomers this fucked by public perception they need to be their own thought police?

Now try master.

Are these people just retards whining that hard mode is, in fact, hard, or is shit actually fucked?

Yes. They believe beating the game on anything other than max difficulty using a specific build from an online spreadsheet is the only TRUE way to beat a game.

Devs learned their lesson with Killzone 2. Putting any kind of extra work beyond bullet sponge enemies with inflated damage numbers is not worth it because brainrot players are too fucking dumb to not tell the difference between smarter enemies and bullet sponges.

It is a skill issue though

Given how batshit the HP scaling was in vanilla oblivion I could easily see it being actually fucked.

imagine punishing yourself out of enjoying something because twitter in your mind is constantly judging you

Adept is way too fucking easy

Expert is unfun bullet sponge after bullet sponge.

imagine unironically enjoying things in this year

enemies that have more hp are more fun to fight
but its a multiplier
if your base combat isn't fun adding more of it isn't going to make it more fun

you still can, zoomerbro..... you still can
you have a heart of gold, don't let them take it from you

23018519.jpg - 460x460, 57.5K

Because normal is way too easy. On expert enemies take a quarter of the damage and deal 4 times the damage. So hard is 8 times as difficult as normal.

"Hardened Bethesda fans"

*people whose first video game ever was Skyrim

Bethesda game has fucked up health scaling on enemies

Say it ain't so!

I was hoping after the 4chuds outage, all you retarded phone posting tourists would have fucked off. But here we are.
Either too retarded to have understood the point, or, too much of a faggot to have made such a bad faith response.
What was the point, anon?
Do you really want to be farming (You)s with such asinine posts where the only replies will be "its not hard its tedious!" "HP inflation isnt hard mode its lazy" blah blah

Judgemental.png - 1768x980, 293.83K

Everyone knows Bethesda games are meant to be played on the standard difficulty, the other settings exist for people who have broken the game and have some ridiculous exploit shit going on.

If you actually want a harder game go get some mods.

8 swings to kill a guy in iron with an iron sword

hit level 10

get dwarven sword

8 swings to kill a guy in iron

it's just the way i remember it, baby.

I WAS AN ADVENTURER LIKE YOU ONCE, UNTIL I TOOK 20 EBONY ARROWS TO THE KNEE.
EBOKNEE

Oblivion higher difficulties always made enemies ultra sponges, that's nothing new.

3d game

brutal

lol

normal has normal values
expert has 3.5x damage taken and enemies have 3.5x more health
master is 6x
these aint "difficulties" it's just a sponge slider

You're not a real gamer. Real gamers know that difficulty and fun directly correlates with how spongey the enemies are. Losing is fun *does the worm* DO YOU GEY MY EPIC DANK REFERENCE *dances the dinosaur*

Oblivion, and really all Bethesda games, they just have a "how much time do you want fights to take" setting. It's not difficulty, it's tedium. Very disappointed they didn't add a survival difficulty to oblivion but it's in line with this release being as lazy as possible

Failing grade school reading comprehension tests in your 30s is insane.

I fucking hate scaling in mmos, it ruins it completely for me. But the game has difficulty options, there's also a mod that allows you to get achievements even when using commands if you want to take that route while still playing on expert or master, so what's the issue here

the combat is one dimensional, there's no way to make it more difficult without sponging it up. no one plays these games for the combat anyway

Yeah, it's bad. But the crazy thing to me is there are somehow two (2) difficulty levels under normal even though it's absurdly easy already.

it would be better if it just increased damage taken so you would die in few hits just like enemies.

People complain about anything gameplay reletaed in a TES game

The gameplay was (with graphics) always the worst thing about TES (Since Oblivion). It has the worst combat mechanics in any open world game that hit mainstream in the last 3 decades.

Its incredible tedious, simplistic with no depth and every "strategy" every recommaneded by "guides" is to make a chees built like sneak archer in Skyrim for example.

raise up setting that only increases damage given/taken, which has been the case for Beth games for decades

wow why are they damage sponges?

Or go the extra mile and have two sliders, so you can choose to have more drawn-out battles or higher lethality for both sides.

retards learn that bethesda "difficulty" options are just "enemies take more hits to kill and you die faster"

Stop the presses!

This is why everyone avoided leveling as much as possible in the original.

Just like max difficulty on original then. Play a mage, the game almsot feels balanced on max difficulty. Otherwise if you are melee you need to abuse the fuck out of enchants and poisons because physical damage sucks hard in oblivion when you increase scaling.
asking for a "fix" because hard mode is too hard is peak onions. there are mods for Pchads that "fix" difficulty anyways.

The stat system needs to be overhauled entirely in their next game so that they dont need level scaling.

be Todd

fix the great difficulty debate with Starfield

one of the most universally praised elements of an otherwise polarizing game

revert back to retarded difficulty scaling from previous games

what did Todd mean by this?

Oblivion was always bad.
Level scaling is fucked and you hit like a paper towel no matter how much you spec. They solved the "issue" of missmissmiss from Morrowind by making you always hit but do pathetic damage to compensate.
It's not hard, it's just tedious.

82eb0868.jpg - 735x490, 39.47K

Choosing "Hard" in any RPG

Ever

Was there ever ANY major RPG where this wasnt a "Kevin Nash the fuck out of me like its 92 again" button and was actually a design choice?
Like, every single one of them just bloats the shit of enemies or gimps you into comoletely unfun territory all the time. Difficulty options in RPGs should be just fucking gone because they never work, or at least cut to "Journalist/Normal"

joel-g-ena.gif - 640x360, 212.95K

the game expects you to enchant your weapon. putting bunch of spell damage + 2 second 100% weakness to element on weapon solves most of the issues

Oblivion difficulty is just number bloat for enemies and de-bloat for you. Regardless of whether the whiners are retarded, it's a dogshit difficulty system that just makes the game tedious.

Skill issue. Dos, BG3, Pathfinder only enjoyable on higher difficulties.

I mean ok you did ask for it.

Pathfinder doesn't get any more interesting at higher difficulties, it just becomes a knowledge check. It's ultimately a spreadsheet simulator where stacking bonuses beat everything.

Everything fun about those games is divorced from the combat.

Do these actually change the movesets/encounters/mechanics or is it just not as noticeable?
I remember hearing that DOS2 actually suffered from the above mentioned problem. No idea about 1 though.

It was bad enough to make me play the original instead.
Why get rid of the slider and then do this shit?
In the original I have the slider slightly further to the right at like 65% or so and it's perfect. In the remaster there's no slider, you can choose between 40% which is braindead easy, everything dies to less than 5 hits and they don't do any damage to you, or 80% where a mudcrab takes 20+ hits and two shots you so you have to kite around every enemy throughout the whole dungeon and cheese them with summons that aren't adjusted to the difficulty level.

Literally unplayable.

it's a litmus test to spot newfags

the difficulty is exactly the same as original for all intents, and no much different to skyrim

"expert" should be for experts who know how to play the game fully

there's a difference between hard and tedious
fighting an enemy that is extremely easy but needs 100 hits to kill is boring not difficult

oh, and by the way, you can only enchant weapons by doing the mage quest line even though you play as a warrior or by savescumming sigil stones

oh, and we made it so you have to recharge your weapons with a filled grand soul gem every 5 hits, hope your warrior specced into mysticism!

What were they thinking?

The game is effectively missing a difficulty.

Expert in oblivion is harder than Master in Skyrim and Master is harder than Legendary.

Expert in Skyrim is .75 damage done and 1.5 damage taken which is what oblivion desperately needs. Since Expert right now is .6 damage done and 3.0 taken. The only way to play higher difficulty of Oblivion right now is to break the game with conjuration and poison since neither of them are affected by your difficulty level.

the difficulty of oblivion (and skyrim and morrowind) is fine as it.

the only other way to go about it is to make both you and the enemy die in 1 hit or 2, which leads to savescumming, which defeats the purpose of it all.

the enemy will kill you in several times less hits, so yes, it's difficult. you need to know the mechanics of the game so that you don't need to hit them a heap. poison or custom spells, for example.

That you'll just play an OP tankmage.

Azura's Star exists

at least the recharge thing is mitigated once you find Azura's shrine and bows with soul trap seemed to drop constantly for me in the beginning. haven't found any melee weps with it outside of Umbra.

playing 100% chameleon isn't cheese but the intended strat

Yeah this is stupid.

I'm 18 hours into my current save and I still haven't found a single soul trap weapon. Thought for once I wouldn't cheese the game and rush to get Umbra, kind of regretting it now.

sponge ennemies are a feature just like any other beth games because you lvl up with your skills ,if you make 2/3 hits killed you won't lvl up your offensive skills as much.

Why would you fight a spriggan with a bow and arrows though?

This is Expert Mode, not Idiot Mode.

spam detect life to 25 and azuras star is less cheesy.

idk if it was a level thing either. suddenly I was finding Bow of Shocks or Volts that did 15pts of shock with a 30s soul trap on every strike. Now I haven't found a single one at level 16.

KZ2 was only hard because of the utterly insane input lag. That game could use a remaster for PC, though.

Why would a specific build attack an enemy with the builds primary attack?

sds.jpg - 1600x800, 105.9K

your summons are as strong as enemies in hard mode

default to summoning and trying my best to hide behind my summons and let them fight for me

its broken but its fine since the gameplay is shit so cheesing it in any way you can feels better

i have no idea why we're remastering games and not fixing the one element everyone complained about which is loot and enemy scaling
thank god mods can be ported

That's how it worked in the original. The game is basically putting a modifier onto you not the actual game changing. Summons and poison are unaffected by your difficulty and work the same on adept as they do on master.

what mods do i need to make this game bearable re its shit levelling and loot system

Type what you posted into google you troglodyte.

we've come full circle to the point where lowlife retards are acting elitist about bethesda's difficulty sliders. that is fucking something

doesn't help the number of tourists probably went up due to the sudden major news coverage of Anon Babble going down

Retards are only now learning about Bethesda's "difficulty" options

difference between hard and tedious

git gud

Did they get rid of the slider and add an arbitrary starting difficulty or something? I dont remember the game being difficult, only that enemies were stronger and taking longer to kill. It's basically a find your fun zone slider.

not anymore, it's Skyrim's difficulty with Oblivion's scaling. You only get Novice/Apprentice/Adept/Expert/Master now. So we're in a weird world where Adept is too easy, but the jump to Expert is too retarded.

Yes. And they made normal too easy (about 40%) and hard too hard (about 80%) so there's no nice in-between.

Pick higher difficulty that inflates the enemy health and damage fivefold

exploit Spellmaking and Alchemy further to boost my stats fivefold

Same as it always was. Not a problem.

I'm very grateful that magic skills are now trained by amount of magicka used, and not number of spells cast.
However, now I can instakill almost anything with my 100 destruction spells while my blade is still only 62 and takes forever to train or kill anything.

The devs included the item duplication glitch.
It's an intended gameplay mechanic; use it.

Hard difficulty is designed to be hard

Can gaming rags go back to being paper and written by people who actually had a passion for the subject?

i tried oblivion when it came out, and i tried it with the remaster, and i still detest it. Dungeons are bland, level scaling is horrendous and omni-present. Its a fart in comparison to Morrowind, and even to skyrim

you need to realize that the people complaining about this never played oblivion and wouldn't like it even if they did, and that even playing this game at all is more about 'being seen' playing it and being part of the social zeitgeist. this is the curse of having normalfags make up the majority of the audience now - their opinions, beliefs, and preferences are entirely arbitrary and subject/prone to change in lock step with public consensus.

It's not hard, though, it's just tedious.
Adept (the normal/starting difficulty) has you taking almost no damage from enemies, so people turn it up 1, expecting enemy damage to be increased or even doubled, and instead they are met with enemies that have effectively 8x as much health.
It's garbage game design.

The combat in Elder Scrolls games isn't good enough for me to care about difficulty levels, it's not a game I play to challenge myself. I left it on adept because I mostly just wanna explore and have some nostalgia over better times.

Well I've been pondering this greatly for a while now, about how "remastered" games from nearly 2 decades ago can sell on par or even better than many modern releases. I think one part of it is that these are games that were created when the people making them had an actual passion for games, and were also competing with each other all the time in many ways. Think of all the best games people usually mention, most of them were created either in the late 90s or early 2000's, when every company was pushing the letter forward graphically, mechanically, any way they could. It was a veritable cornucopia of choice for people where even RTS games could reach mainstream appeal and sell well enough to get tv advertisements.

Compare that to games now, where most don't even bother to innovate in any meaningful way, and all love to copy each other in so many blatant and cookie cutter ways that you might as well just stick with your ol' reliable then move on to something new. Oblivion with all its jank is still a more preferable alternative to other rpgs or games today. I don't doubt there are more people playing Oblivion right now then there are Avowed, or Veilguard, or whatever new slop the industry has made.

People want to play games, even the janky ones, because it's still a game first and foremost.

Bethesda difficulties are the one thing I completely ignore. There is no respect for the player. I've played legendary diff Skyrim with a whole bunch of difficulty enhancing mods like the old timey dragon mod that basically gave dragons a dick ton of health on top of more variety (turning an early game dragon fight into a legit 30 minute endeavor). The early game is an absolute SLOG and it doesn't get better for a long time unless you exploit, and certain builds are just completely fucked for way longer.
If you play a Bethesda game and want to play on max difficulty, either enjoy hitting a pinyata with no loot for 10 minutes, or do the smart thing and get a difficulty rework mod.

Can walk backwards faster than enemies walk forwards

The lowest possible maximum number of arrows you can carry is 1420

Oblivion's combat is literally deterministic: the only way to lose is by purposefully choosing to let enemies hit you.
What purpose does a difficulty slider have when all it does is change how tedious every encounter is?

waiting for skyind, fuck oblivion

oblivion's difficulty and level scaling has always been total shit

Because it's too easy.
Yes, but the original game had a slider where you could set it to whatever % you wanted it at, whereas now it's locked at 40% (noodle-armed enemies) and 80% (omega damage sponges), neither of which is fun.

It's honestly insane how many game breaking bugs and straight up jank was simply brought over 1:1 because being a buggy piece of shit with completely nonsense character interactions is the Oblivion identity.

its actually fucked
but you'd also have to be fucked in the head to play it on expert

I'm on Normal and the game is already tedious
Enemies take 8 sword hits to kill
On easy they take like 2
And I have 100 strength, and it still feel the same

I don't understand this.
Not every video game has to be Elden Ring.

You are playing a strong-as-fuck hero cpable of walking through hell, defeating entire platoons of what are basically demon spawn, ripping a keystone from an active lava flow with nothing but (At most) steel gauntlets for protection, and you eventually BECOME A FUCKING GOD.

Oblivion isn't meant to be hard. You play it on Adept, get your ass handed to you by a Spriggan or Minotaur at low level, learn how to cheese or get a broken ass absorb health enchant, and break shit for fun.

What is with the recent obsession with "I want my game to ass rape me and one-shot my level 99 character"? I know it comes from Souls-like gamers, but why do they feel the need to make EVERY game hard?

2623190_1.jpg - 3840x2160, 890.44K

what weapon are you using and at what level
you don't become a god, your buddy Martin does. You're just Akatosh's blessed enforcer.

you don't become a god

PLAY THE FUCKING GAME

game has flaws

"remake" it

just hire indians to slap a UE translation layer on top and oob shaders to make it look shiny

game still has flaws, and runs like shit

Shocker

you're right, not even Martin became a god, just an avatar of a god.

what weapon are you using and at what level

A 2 handed elvish or dwemer sword I found in a cave, it has 11 damage( or whatever the number means)
I'm level 15

try enchanting magic damage on it through Frostcrag Spire in the mountains or progressing the Mage Guild until you get access to the Academy.

TES difficulty is just number autism encouraging you to break the game harder

And this is new to who exactly? It has always been the designated poster child of extremely lazy difficulty.
Personally I prefer to increase damage taken only and just resist hitting the stealth crit I Win button.

tryhard retards with nothing else to brag about in their lives. If at least they could enjoy a game being different and acknowledge it's different because it aims at a different goal that could be nice but no if there's combat it needs to be souls like combat.brain fried people just like most "gamers".

some dnd games have normal modes too easy, disabling friendly fire on area effect spells or mucking around with saving throw thresholds

i'd say xenoblade series is another example where increased difficulty can be interesting, things do become damage spongey but also the normal mode duration of an encounter doesn't let you build up your combos so that you can see what synergizes

But all these retarded kids played Skyrim and know that you never go to the highest difficulty in TES games cause it's just stat padding

Boredom makes a player stop playing a game indefinitely.

I have been playing World of Warcraft since 2012.
I have been playing Oblivion since 2006
I have been playing DOOM since 1999
I have been playing Super Mario 64 since 1997

Not every game has to be hard to hold your interest.

Strangely, the filter they have permeating the game makes Oblivion look fucking amazing. It's just kind of ass everywhere else in Cyrodiil. I kind of wish if they were going to keep things, the bright filter that makes the land almost idealistic would've been one of them. Same for the clothing being bright with vibrant colors. All this drabness is boring.

Why would you use an ineffective attack against an enemy just because it's your build's primary attack, instead of either avoiding the enemy or finding a way to use an effective attack?

It's Expert Mode, not Casually-Getting-Away-With-Everything Mode.

How do I make a fortify agility potion? I only know Leek, is there nothing else?

the enemy AI is so incompetent that, melee enemies can't even hit you if you're walking backwards unless they boomrush you, so having stupid bloated hp pools doesn't help the issue of difficulty.

makes me wonder how that reshade looks in Oblivion planes. apparently it just turns the blue up and lowers the yellow/brown
beef or shepard's pie once you're journeyman alchemy

awesome, thx.

what did Starfield do, i'm not sure I remember
did it let you tweak every little thing about difficulty?

playing on expert

run into a troll

LITERALLY cannot outdps its regen

turn it down to adept

sneak attack one shots it

the bright filter that makes the land almost idealistic would've been one of them

This is the one thing I miss the most about the older game. I feel like the more vibrant landscape could have been massively elevated by newer graphics. Though the other thing I miss is that in the old game, there is a massive difference between daytime and evening/nighttime.

What makes you drop a game is when you know that no matter what is around the corner, you will not encounter a fail state. You know because you've rounded many prior corners and not been challenged for too long. At this point, you know you've beaten the game, and there's no more fun from playing to be had. It's just a job now. It's boring.

If you were an actual expert, you would have made a build that could counter this. You would have used poison, buffed your weapons, summoned help, etc. You shouldn't play on expert unless you are an expert at the game.

Why would you want the already dogshit combat to last longer?

Have not played it, but similar games that just make the enemies scale into damage sponges instead of making the enemy strategy or moveset or getting smarter ai suck.
Harder difficulty meaning meaning the exact same gameplay but enemies can take and do a lot more damage is just cheesy developer laziness.

To actualy really get harder enemies requires modding enemies with new moves and spells, and improved ai like using cover, ranged maintaining distance, etc My skyrim is like that. Mages that kill you in two hits hiding behind cover and run from you while melee keeps you busy. That is hard strategicly, but nobody is a damage sponge. Both you and most enemies die in 2-5hits and combat is fast and brutal.

What makes you drop a game is when you know that no matter what is around the corner, you will not encounter a fail state.

Nope. I cannot agree.
I play games that are hard due to the fulfilment they grant me. If I overcome hard challenges, I feel good about myself.

I play games like Oblivion to enchant my weapons with a 80-point absorb health enchant, my armor with 100% spell absorption, 85% armor, and then make my way through countless forts, ruins, and mines watching my gold grow.

People can enjoy things. Oblivion's world and combat system are why I returned to it after all these years.

What makes me drop a game is the point where I realize I'm not having fun anymore. For some games that can take hours, for others it's during the opening act. Because I play games to have fun, and if I'm not having fun, what's the point?

The only issue with the difficulties is that it nerfed the players damage and armor (something like 6x less).
This makes weapon scaling whack and why poison/summon and debuff work wonderfully in this difficulties setting.

Also the struggle is, as usual at the early games where you hit rats for 8 times till it die and it will just get easier and easier as you go on.

skill issue

for future fake stories that didn't happen, please take note that the math for expert mode works as follows:

adept: 100% damage done, 100% damage taken

expert: 60% damage done, 300% damage taken

so if a mere 40% reduction to your damage is making that big of a difference to your stealth archer cheating gameplay, you're objectively doing something wrong either in your build, your equipment, or your inputs. trolls are weak to fire and any mid level poison applied to your arrows (crafted via alchemy, purchased from shops, found in chests) will cancel out their regen. i know it's tough to understand for normalfags, but even the simplest RPGs are not call of duty and you need to do more than left click to win.

I used a dagger champ.

So just like the original then? Cool.

The calcs are in this through and you're just wrong though. Expert reduces your damage by nearly 75%.

i need the AI to play the game better than i do

the devs are lazy because they won't go into my inventory and use my items for me

maybe stick to FIFA

Fucking this. I truly believe that the popularity of games like Elden Ring are also detrimental in this case because every zoomer retard thinks that cranking the difficulty up to "look hardcore" only to be humbled by it then bitch endlessly is beyond obnoxious.

As it was in the original you zoomer retard.

Anon, do you not know how to mitigate a troll from out regenerating your DPS? If you just want to hit shit the same way with the same beatstick forever then stick to adept.

You play for the challenge. Once you've reached the endgame state, it's only fun to stomp the helplessly outmatched enemies for so long.

It's both. The difficulties have always been fucked in Oblivion, but you also have to be a genuine retard to increase the difficulty to begin with when you know this is the case.

a mere 40% reduction to your damage

?

The problem is the original oblivion had a difficulty slider, not pips. Adept is too easy but hard is too big of a jump for most characters early on.
You would know this if you actually played games rather than spouting Anon Babble buzzwords 15 hours a day.

Elden Ring got popular on one part because Fromsoft and it's notoriety helped it along, it was also the easiest of the Souls games they made so more people could actually play it, and from word of mouth. You have a friend who tells you it's good, versus some dickhead on the internet who tells you it's good and you'll likely listen to your friend first.

Journos were still bitching loudly about Elden Ring because even though it is by far the most user friendly of the Souls games, they STILL couldn't get past the barrier to entry the game asks of you in beating Margit. Who, if you can beat him, you can beat basically everyone else after that.

Patch

pepe-puke.gif - 112x112, 45.29K

The slider didn't really make a difference back then either. The second you set it above the original value the enemies turned into sponges.

Elden Ring is piss easy especially since you can pretty much outscale almost anything in that game. It's designed that way for mass popularity so people would stop bitching about the absence of difficulty modes (they still do).

Anon, the tragedy of the generation that had social media during childhood is that they can't comprehend you can distance yourself from it and that you don't need validation from random people. I left highschool when Facebook started to be the big thing and now I realised I dodged a bullet when I see zoomer.

No.I play for fun.
Challenging video games are fun sometimes
Oblivion is fun because of the world, characters, broken ass spell crafting system, and ability to roam the world as a dungeon crawler.

The enemies don't actually have 3.5x HP. You just do 3.5x less damage and take 3.5x more damage. NPCs still do normal damage to each other. But if you played the original you would have known this

remastered game works the same as the original

WHAT THE FUCK????

They want a remake where the game is up to modern standards (streamlined unto oblivion)

did it let you tweak every little thing about difficulty?

Pretty much that and more, you can also change things like environmental dmg or carry capacity.

You are a legitimately retard if you actually believe this. The difficulty in Elder Scrolls games is lazy garbage.

Poisons and summons aren't effected by difficulty. If you're using either of them you completely defeat the point of playing on a higher difficulty. You're not playing on expert, you're playing on adept+.

You don't need to be a mage to play the mage guild questline you newfaggot

The fun comes from the rush of winning. The winning is only fun if it feels earned. If you went through every dungeon and everyone died in one hit, it wouldn't be fun. Oblivion talks a while to overpower, which lets it stay fun for longer than, say Starfield.

As was the case in the original

not really ,challenge has never been a thing.I would say the lack of perspective of progression. The idea that you still get new gear, improve your stats, improve your skills ,more damage, more mana, new spells etc
if challenge would be the main thing then yeah people can adjust difficulty slider to master but apparently it's tedious.

It's one of these games where you either play on easy or find a mod that boosts damage for both you and enemies

You didn't beat the game because you are super smart.

It's a curse, I know.

so retarded. this isn't Dark Souls, you don't score epic gamer points for picking the hardest mode in a roleplaying game where the outcome of a battle is determined almost entirely by stats. if the only thing that distinguishes difficulty in an Elder Scrolls game is enemy hp vs player damage output (aka NUMBERS), then how is retuning Expert going to make it different from the setting before Expert? It's a fucking numbers game, so you're just asking the developers to turn down the numbers instead of turning them down yourself.

Yes, zoomer retards wants to look hardcore and eat dirt because of it. They deserve their suffering.

I thought the scroll glitch didn't work anymore

you're just asking the developers to turn down the numbers instead of turning them down yourself

if the developers turn it down instead of them, they get to keep their gamer cred (tm) and they don't have to look bad infront of the voices in their heads.

Must be a language barrier. The ai I refer to is the enemy.
I like the enemy increasing in their capabilities with higher difficulty. Not just some math adjustments so the game is exactly the same but you do less damage and the enemy can take and do more. Scaling stats by a percentage but changing nothing else is lazy devs, and harder difficulty used to mean actual harder challenges not scaled stats.

I got a skyrim mod that randomly gives spells and equipment to enemies that also fight much better. Combined with many that add tons of new enemy types. I run into new crazy things all the time. Including enemies with insane spell combos. The game remains fun.

why do tards keep bringing up souls games (games that don't even have difficulty sliders) instead of the decades of games where anything below hard doesn't even require a brain?

They really did just divide the slider into 5 parts lol... for what reason? Was the slider too intimidating and confusing for the modern audience... or did they just want to appeal to the Skyrim crowd?

I added soulslike combat to skyrim, so you can dodge attacks and enemies are not locked into always facing you. But made enemies deadly, smarter, with randomized gear assigned from a list of base game and mod spells and gear.
The game is hard, because it is totaly randomized there is no youtube strategy or video or strategy website to look up as everyone is unique, and it is fun.

To say that as if there's no strat at all is folly. You always have stealth archery with an enchanted to hell bow and poison arrows. You still have custom made nuke spells.

Shitblivion is still as terribly designed as ever. Nothing but a mountain of mods can salvage that piece of shit. I don't know why you people are talking about it anyway. It came out in 2006. Why didn't you talk about it last year or in 2022 or in 2017? Morons.

Whoah, changing the values of damage and HP might make for un-fun and un-balanced gameplay?

Try playing FO1/2 where you do one third damage and enemies do triple damage. Good luck.

Why the fuck are you doing an archery build? This isn’t Skyrim.

hardened fans

That's every Bethesda game. The difficulty slider lowers your damage and increases enemy damage. It's basically there to see just how overpowered your build is with max sponge monsters.
Oblivion did have the most broken scaling of all Bethesda games though, so depending on how well that was fixed the zooms could be right without realizing that it's not the difficulty slider fucking them.

They didn't revert shit. This Demaster is a graphics whore update and nothing else. They hardly bothered doing anything else. That's why no-one in their right mind gives them money for it.

weakness to fire 100% + weakness to magicka 100% for 5 seconds 40ft aoe

weakness to fire 100% + weakness to magicka 100% for 5 seconds 40ft aoe

magnitude 10 fire damage for 5 seconds 40 ft aoe

The spriggan, its summoned bear, the 2 storm atronatchs, the Xivilai and the imperial forrester all fold, writhe in agony, and die

I can even start looting the humanoid enemies while they're down on the ground cooking in their own fat

Lmao

I wish there was a way to block fucking zoomers like you from posting. What drives you to pretend to know something about a game you never played?
