Be honest

Will you play this if it takes place in Hammerfell?

TESVI.png - 1535x766, 1.14M

No

I don't expect to still be playing videogames in the 2050's

im imagining them sitting in a backroom stumbling on how to make skyrim even more braindead

bethesda sucks and i wont buy another one of their "hehe all these quirky bugs make it charming" full priced games and then wait years for modders to fix it

I'm imagining there are banana peels all over the floor and they keep cartoonishly slipping over.

Not if it's still using the same gambyro engine with no upgrades. Otherwise its just another Oblivion expansion sold as a full price game.

The only Elder Scrolls game I ever played was Oblivion. I put hundreds of hours into that game back in 2006-2008 on Xbox 360 and I don't feel the need to play any more games in the series.

since hammerfell is mostly boring desert i'd imagine they'll do a high rock/hammerfell wombo combo

it was always one of the coolest settings conceptually besides morrowind, of course, so yes i'd be very happy with hammerfell. the problem is just that its post-morrowind bethesda making it so it will be abysmal fucking mumbai dogshit

Of course, I will be a Nord and kill every Redguard I see
The Aryan Hoonding

And what's wrong with Creation Engine exactly?

hammerfell could potentially be morrowind tier of out there 70s psychedelic shit, which it obviously wont be, but it could. same for other places in high rock, really. like, bretons are supposed to be a hybrid mutant race of elf and man yet they are the most generic literal regular guy race in fantasy history with literally zero lore nor culture. how the fuck did they fuck up such potential so bad?

And what's wrong with Creation Engine exactly?

Untitled.png - 1164x655, 693.11K

I won't play it, but not because of the setting, I actually like desert settings. modern Bethesda is just dogshit.

Doesn't the new Oblivion remake take place in Hammerfell?

Probly not honestly my computer is 5 years old and was mid when I built it. I'll wait five years and then pirate it.

yes, it probably wont be overly leftified, Bethesda doesn't have a habit of going overboard with that shit

The location is about the least important factor in whether I'll play Todd's new game. It could be set in Skyrim again but if the writing and RPG systems are good I'd play it.

It could be set in Skyrim again

don't give them ideas

Clever work around is bad because....

So what, nobody cared or noticed when they played the game. Do you have some actual criticisms about the engine?

High Rock + Hammerfell for tons of variety is my cope but I know it's not going to be that interesting

I'll only buy it if they make it the whole of Tamriel.

Once AI slop gamedev gets fully up and running then we will get it, we won't like it though

I'm not playing it, period. It's gonna be fallout 4/76 tier kusoge.

What is Arena

How old are you guys?

The problem is the engine's extreme limitations that make the workaround necessary in the first place. A good engine could be updated to properly handle vehicles so that kind of shit isn't necessary.

If I can play a Nord stabbing black people then I won't mind

>What is Arena

a 40 year old boomerslop game

What a stupid post, every engine has limitations.
There's a train in Fallout 4, so why don't you post the train head from that game if Creation Engine is so bad then.

I will only play it if it takes place in North Korea

Whoa, look at those goalposts go!

And the whole of Tamriel is playable, so it's exactly what you asked for.

so daggerfall again

Goalpost hasn't moved an inch. You're a retard who thinks an engine is bad because devs have to find clever workarounds. You still haven't given any actual criticisms about Creation Engine

muh vehicles

Starfield has a Rover you can drive around.

Of course. Redguard are pretty based in the lore and I don't consider a fantasy race that has canonically always been dark-skinned being dark-skinned in a new game.

It's not like they're replacing Nords with Redguard lol

we obviously want a modern game with all of Tamriel, dumbfuck

Not him but desu whining about weird workarounds in an engine doesn’t really make sense. The train scene works fine, who cares how they implement it? People moan about Gamebryo/Creation but at the end of the day it powers a bunch of classic games that are fun to play. I don’t really care how miserable the devs are.

why is this bike bad?

the brakes don't work so you can only stop by jamming a stick in the spokes

that's just a clever workaround, you haven't told me what's wrong with the bike

Well then you should have said that, retard.

What an absolutely horrific analogy. Please explain how FO3's train head made the game worse.

so you're just gonna grab the torrent

We're talking about an engine, not the games.

NTA, but that's what I did. I was going to just go and buy it on steam day one, but once I heard it was on GamePass I looked for the torrent instead.
I'm enjoying it, but the game is so much like Oblivion that it doesn't really feel all that new that I'm glad I didn't pay 50 dollars for it.

I never finished Oblivion or Skyrim, so with Starrim being shit I think I'll just skip it until there's a shitload of rape mods.

After Fallout 4 I decided to never play a new Bethesda title. So it doesn't matter where it takes place, I won't be playing it.

And the games run on the engine you idiot. If you're going to compare train head to the brakes of a bike, then train head must be crucial part of the game. Again, do you have any actual criticisms of Creation Engine?

Yes, I will torrent, play for 2 hours, uninstall, then go back to Daggerfall.

do you have any actual criticisms other than the ones you've already mentioned that I refuse to count as valid?

procgen slop

lmao soulless bug

I will eat whatever shit Todd shovels into my mouth.

Yeah, they don't count because FO4 has normal trains and Starfield has a driveable Rover, you illiterate or something? Both of your "criticisms" were addressed years ago. Can't believe you're crying about a fucking workaround that didn't affect the actual game at all.

Will you play this if it takes place in Hammerfell?

If it was Skyrim quality with Hammerfellians I certainly would. But the "body type 1 and 2" of Oblivion doesn't give me hope.

Yes
I imagine they'll sanitize the more interesting lore bits like they did with Skyrim.
I'm still mad we didn't get wasabi-eating coke addict Vikings with ridiculous thu'um power.

high rock

Could be interesting, I could see Bethesda turning it into GoT-lite.

It's not about the trainhead, it's about what the trainhead represents.

Yes, yes I will. If they ever fucking release it.

I would play it if they set it inside a mudcrabs asshole I just want it to release

And what does it represent anon? That Gamebryo isn't a perfect engine that can do everything?

Working smarter instead of harder for something that is only used minimally?

The setting doesn't matter. Bethesda needs to fire all incompetent and DEI "devs". That's the only chance it has at being good

I will buy anything todd makes that he takes actually seriously, which would be elder scrolls.

Will you play this if it takes place in Hammerfell?

Yeah, if its middle east inspired that would be pretty neat. Arab and Persian architecture, maybe have the ancient ruins be more Egyptian style.

arab-samurai-pirate niggers

Hell yeah.

i hate that we live in the election era of Anon Babble were potentially cool shit like this is hated on and considered woke when in 2010 everyone would think this is fucking badass.

That it's an outdated engine in need of an overhaul.

composted cultureslop

yawn.

I'm in the Iliac Bay camp, with sea exploration being the main hook.
Just don't see them going Hammerfell with how heated modern gamer discourse is, and also just High Rock would be Oblivion 2.0.

Oblivion won
Fallout 3 won
Starfield won

Anti-Bethesda shills lost

You must really hate Morrowind

yes and i will play a strong nord woman

You can't really blame anyone for being pessimistic. The last decade has been utter dogshit for vidya/teevee.

if it takes place in Hammerfell?

If it was just hamerfell, well I will play it because it is a TES, but I will be a nord as usual and it will be a TND simulator.
I hope at least it is hammerfell AND high rock (with orsinium too) so we get bretons and redguards and some orc stuff.
Just redguards lands will be BORINGGGG
Plus they have a lot of redguards land in ESO.

Nope. I have Morrowind. If I don't have that I have Oblivion. If I don't have that I have Skyrim. I don't need another one.

hammerfell AND high rock (with orsinium too)

Do you really trust Bethesda to create 17 distinct cities?

it was always one of the coolest settings conceptually besides morrowind

It's just going to be skyrim with sand

There are actually more.
This map is ESO though so 1000s of years before that image.
Seeing my image though of current ESO. It is obvious bethesda has not made a TES game so they can milk ESO, and convenient this year is the first year for like 10 ESO has stopped dropping big chapters, and oblivion remake drops. So look at this map, that massive empty space in hammerfel, that is probably where it will be placed. Plus they will most likely add the rest of hammerfel already in ESO.

And what needs to be overhauled exactly?

hammerfell

They already did that in daggerfall why would they do the same fucking place

storyline option to help the Redguards and Bretons burn down Orsinium (again)

Make it happen, Todd

Will you play this

yes

massive empty space in hammerfell

Black Marsh seems just as empty
We're going home lizardbros

only after the mod that makes everyone Huwhite is released

Unironically I think they should remove stats and skills altogether, it could actually be interesting. You probably have enough to define your character with just race, gender (or body type, whatever), equipment, spells/abilities, and perks or flaws gained from quests or training etc, maybe add height/weight/body shape if they implement the stuff from Dragon's Dogma/SF6 style character creators (which they won't but they should), and reputations.

It's almost prophetic that they saved the Hammerfell game for when accusations of racism will excuse the inevitably poor game design. I look forward to this dumpster fire if by some chance GTA6 doesn't implode the industry.

This map is ESO though

ESO

Oh, so it's worthless non-canon garbage?

2461.png - 501x445, 174.92K

I'm fucking dying at this, thanks anon.

yes, the Redguard are cool. Sword singing is also a flashy unique skill set to give an MC without being a new ass pull. Throw in their specific hatred of necormancy and the sload probably being relevant on some level? The question is if the writers are on drugs or sober.

they already did all of tamriel in arena why bother making any more elder scrolls

no they didn't

that dumb gap between Bravil and Leyawiin

how the hell are they even going to fill that area? There are no other cities in East Cyrodiil

They have already had a small agronian DLC in ESO, but most people dont like teh swamp areas, myself included.
They obviously check player numbers in locations etc to gauge what to do next. They already know the big next skyrim chapter that fills in west skyrim will make ESO popular so they are saving that.
My guess, disregarding they can do other planes of oblivion is that they will do more black marsh in a large zone next as all there has been is a tiny zone of murkmire and they are running out of space, but wont want to retread doing another khajit, cyrodil or morrowind zone any time soon.

2025

still playing Bethesda slop

lmao

youtube.com/watch?v=jdFwhhH2x7I
kino incoming if so
but can todd actually deliver, will it just be another meme.
Why is he always so close but not that close too being kino.

non-canon

You are a retard?
Like they did with gold coast and gold road. i have not played gold road yet but gold coast was dark brotherhood, anvil and kvatch, and I guess gold road is skingraad and choral. So 1 more DLC with lleyawin would be blackwood, and they can add more cities if they like.
Though ESO PvP only has the imp city and cyrodiil so they might even add a new PvP area with that area.

As far as racism goes desu I'm wondering if they'll add Asians despite there being no equivalent in the setting. I don't care if the game is full of black people but that would actually bother me a little if they couldn't fit it into the lore properly. They'd have to make up that there were secret Akaviri chinks that came over as settlers, I guess.

be your own man and have your own opinion

A Nord in the desert still acts like a Nord

here we have a glorious retard who has no idea what he's talking about
not only daggerfall's map only covers about 10% of hammerfell, the entire landmass is procedurally generated so there's nothing unique besides certain npcs and quests

back to

IF they have you rediscover swordsinging, AND it's cool, then sure. There is certainly one benefit to staging things in Hammerfell, you can practice stacking nogs.

look at the map, there is already a blackwood dlc with leyawiin but it only covers southern cyrodiil and west of black marsh, the eastern part of cyrodiil has no hub, considering that bravil was wasted on the pvp zone

No, which is why I know that ESO is non-canon cashgrab slop.

MUH CITY OF VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES UNDERNEATH SKYRIM! OH MY DAYS, SURELY THIS IS CANON LORE!

Come off it.

blackwood dlc

Ohhhhh now I fucking remember it, it was the shitty asset flip DLC they released during the pandemic, fucking shit and clearly done while they worked from home.
You are right though, there are not even any cities in that area, not unless it is also a part of morrowind, so morrowind on the east. cyrodiil on the west.
Gonna be an empty zone.
My guess then it will be another PvP zone.

this nordcuck really thinks he stands a chance against BRC

The last good Bethesda game was Skyrim so no.

They are making it canon you fucking retard.
The lore of ESO spreads over 100s of 1000s of years, they can make whatever they want you sperg.
All they have to do is stick with the continuity of the already created games.

No

Phrasing makes it seem as though Bethesda made many more games after Skyrim

In reality they've only made two games between 2011-2025

What are these niggas doing over there?

prolly beatin they meat n shit

they are already breaking and raping the lore hard, they added a new sekrit sealed away daedric prince for being too powerful (haha... where did I hear that story before?) and she looks like a character from smite or some cheap mobile dota knockoff

And none of it is canon to TES, a best it some of it might get referenced in future games. ESO is filled with so much pants on head bullshit that you'd have to be extremely stupid think that any of it's bile is canon. Dumb shits even pulled a new Daedric Prince out their assholes.

I assume the city in the Nibenay basin will be Mir Corrup, possibly with a revamp of the thieves guild.
Looking at the map You've got Jehenna between Orsinium and Western Skyrim.
Blacklight on the coast next to Riften
The Northern Telvanni peninsula has Firewatch
The Telvanni isles off the coast could probably support a DLC based out of Port Telvannis
The bit of land East of Shadowfen could have Tear as the main city
Black Marsh has a lot of course, the bit sandwiched on the coast below Blackwood and Murkmire would have Soulrest as the main city.
Central Black marsh would have Helstrom while another region would have Archon as it's main capitol.
Nibbenay has Mir Corrup
The Stupid ass gaps between Northern and Southern Elsweyr covers Torval and Corinth i'm pretty sure
Skyrim obviously has Falkreath (sort of in as a dungeon), Whiterun, Winterhold and Dawnstar.
Then that leaves you Al'akir which is mostly left out still with major settlements in hagathe, Gilane, Skaven, Taneth and Rihad.
Skaven might be copy-righted by GW so that might be an issue there.
Oh also Solstheim could easily sustain a DLC.
So let's say.....
2 Major DLC in Hammerfall
2 Major + 2 minor DLC in Skyrim
2 Major + 2 minor in Morrowind
1 major in Cyrodill
1 minor in Elsweyr
2 major + 1 minor in Black Marsh

I hate when people say limitations, ever seen ostim?

I can't in good conscience buy TESVI after how big a piece of shit TESIVR turned out to be.

That's such a shitty way to introduce an new Daedric prince. Nulore writers need to step it up. Why not just have yet another mortal rando who's insanely talented at magic become a new daedric prince somewhat like Mannimarco or something?

kys

That's the best part about ESO, it's canonically non-canon. At best it'll be used as a proving ground for animations/new bits of lore to see how they want to develop them. Sure when they send stuff over to gamebyro they'll have to redo a lot of animations art but having a 3D example and just copying it over is a Lot easier than having to figure out how it should look on your own.

That's dumb, the brakes work(the train head) so your analogy is wrong.
More like:

there is no rim for the brake pad to press against so we made it so the caliper presses the pad against the rubber tire

haha... where did I hear that story before?

don't speak ill of my favorite quirk chungus le cheese man

fuck off, they went too far with skyrim. The remake we got is better but I hope the next game has even deeper mechanics with stats and skills.

to be fair that's an unbelievably hard thing that can only be accomplished with an omnipotent wish granting mecha demigod (which might have indirectly caused Talos to be as well if you believe the convention 2.0 theory)

tes6

who care about tes6 and the story. we have now, a fresh engine for millions mods. best news kek

People dancing can cause dragon breaks that last for 1000 years, it's not that big of a deal

based TES lore knower.
Yeah clearly the DLC train is running thin and they are slowing down, this years expanded DLC not even in tamriel.
One thing to point out though is just because an area is huge on the map doesnt mean it is in game and visa versa.
Still by the looks of it there are a bunch of small micro DLC zones that they will probably do like what they are doing now, more dungeons and small zones over a year for the next few years in anticipation for the next mainline TES which will drop the numbers of ESO big time (part reason they probably shadow dropped oblivion remaster, to gauge financial ESO losses)
Then I would expect them to do a massive "come back to ESO" after 1 or 2 years post TES6. Then probably drop the latter half of skyrim and even solstiem, probably west morrowind as well, then a big blackmarsh DLC and then finally finish hammerfell like 3-5 years after TES6 releases.
In all that they will most likely add more planes of oblivion etc in all of that.
Then if the MMO is still kicking they have entire new continents to start on.
thing is the way the game is now, it is spread too thin, everyone is jumping around and the community last time I played was complete shit. More zones means game is thinner and thinner.

I don't disagree with new lore being shit and the new Daedric prince is definitely bad lore (how exactly does a prince whose entire thing is re-writing reality get beaten like this, frankly that's just way to powerful of an ability, that's basically Akatosh tier, though lacking the raw power i guess.
Would be way better to have her be a more minor Daedric prince related to cataloging knowledge or something, minor enough that Hermeaus mora can beat her without much issue, annoying enough he'd bother to do so, while also strong enough to actually earn being a daedric prince.

they can literally write anything as long as it's good. It doesn't have to include Numidium. Just have some weird metaphore thing that the schizos will eat up. Couldn't be that hard

I'm playing it no matter what because there's no denuvo on bethesda games

The remake is definitely a test bed for the new leveling system they're planning and from what i've seen the normies and the hardcore oblivion autists seem receptive of it so that's a good sign.
What they need to do is remove leveled enemies and make a way to upgrade leveled unique items

I'm just pissed they still haven't given us a Pre-collapse Winterhold,

Not really, considering ESO's designs all look like horseshit for some reason. Summerset Isle was a complete and utter letdown.

Same with western skyrim these zones will bring in all the skyrim fans so they save them for "come back to ESO" times when player count are dwindling.
I half expect they tried the same with the telvanni peninsula but it ended up being a shitty lackluster mess. That was when I stopped playing.
I might actually get back into it sometime this year.
I was actually thinking of doing a second oblivion remaster run back to back then play skyrim. If I do that I will probably jump into ESO after. I have quite a lot to catch up on.
Barely done any dungeon and not done any trial for years.

niggerfell, it depends on what the storyline is. If I can play as a high elf and just kill every nigger in Hammerfell, then I'd love to play it.

I only want to adventure in the Summerset Isles.

I actually really like skyrims levelling system, but the one issue is because they added legendary you can level infinitely and then become a jack of all trades, which now you can also do in oblivion.
I think the "better" system is fallout 4 where you level up by using shit but choose starting stats, skill points you can also use to increase your base stats then each of the number in stats unlock perk chains.
Hopefully they can make an even better system.
ESO current system is pretty good so copying that would be decent.

Niggerfell with Body Type A and B.

I'll be lining a mass public grave with the other invalids by the time this game comes out. 15 years for Skyrim 2 and another 25 for Fallout 5 what the fuck is this bullshit man.

I know you're just shitposting, but I really do wonder if devs will still be doing this shit in the next couple of years.

you can level infinitely and then become a jack of all trades, which now you can also do in oblivion

This is upsetting to hear. One of the things I LIKE about Oblivion is that you CAN'T do everything in a single playthrough with a single character. Removing that aspect of the game sucks.

I think they should remove stats and skills altogether

spells/abilities, and perks or flaws

This are opposing concepts.

Hoonding and Tall Papa replaced by discount Wakandashit for those extra pennies

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

You don't have to use skills in Fallout 4 to level up. You just kill shit, get xp, level up and all your perks are locked behind S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats.
Skyrim, but with a class system and a lot more restrictions would be the optimal way in my eyes.

Trolls in WoW got to keep Bwomsamdi so i wouldn't be that worried desu.

It's taking place in Hammerfell and High Rock

source?

I work at Bethesda.

Star Field had all of todds heart put into it though. he weirdly had the same problem with his vision as the NMS guy

vast universe of rocks = deep and profound gameplay

so detached

i also work at Bethesda and I'll make sure they fire your ass when we find you

Hammerfell and High Rock

What i really want to see is a choice on where you start preferably with a shorter introduction.

What I meant was you would obtain abilities and passives entirely through quests and special events in-world, rather than picking them on a level up screen. Some would be mutually exclusive however so you could still have builds in a sense.

I don't know what game started the trend but ever since it did, having male/female is a political statement so I wouldn't expect them to stop. Body type is too of course but obviously they're not gonna wanna be seen picking the chud side of the argument.

What i really want to see is a choice on where you start preferably with a shorter introduction.

It almost feels mandatory that they have frontload this shit with the some of the most inane opening sections. Knowing full well about the metrics around people skipping this with mods like Alternative Start. It shouldn't be like pulling teeth to have a series of starting points like Kenshi does where they dump you in a roadside tavern somewhere and you go from there.

The game needed to come out in 2018. Its almost been 14 years since the release, and maybe this year or next it will come out as shadowdroping oblivion was weird. But will the game be a good sandbox? Will it even have a once of sandbox soul of skyrim? Or will it be a dumpster fire like starfield?

I'm fine with gaining spells through specific quests
I'm fine with gaining enchantments through specific quests
I am not fine with gaining a macro'd ability that basically fights for me
If they want to have 'abilities' that's basically a combo attack where you have to actually do something instead of right click repeatedly that's good.

I am DESPERATELY coping that the negative reception to Starfield and positive reception to the Demake will clue Bethesda onto what people like about their games.

I just meant it as a term for something like a spell, even if it's technically not. Of course I'd prefer real, more active attacks too but that's just a matter of if they overhaul the combat system or not.

I'd like to think they don't believe they could get away with Skyrim-tier melee in the 2020s, but I didn't hear anything about the melee in Starfield being good. But melee's always been kind of a meme option when you have guns, where it's more primary in fantasy, so maybe that'll motivate them to make a real attempt at it.

morrowind starts quite nicely where, if you know what kind of character to make, you can be out in the world playing in about 3 minutes or some shit rather than skyrims fucking hour long snoozefest intro

and get fucked by red guards?

The combination of continuously milking Skyrim for nearly 15 years and then Starfield seems to have significantly reduced the amount of good will Bethesda has.

sure, as the redguard by lore are actually pretty cool. if they turn them into blm caricatures, then no.

though, i think they should do two provinces, and supposedly it's in high rock too going by the leaks.

Why wouldn't I? Hopefully they have sword singers.

bros I'm from the future I can't give it all the way but Todd's the Hoon-Ding scrolls VI will save humanity. Be sure to pre-order two copies of the collector's edition.

what don't you like? elder scrolls always had braindead combat

Leaks

What were they again? From memory, the main leak was the art inspiration pinterest board people managed to get access to that had a bunch of pictures clearly meant to inspire Hammerfell art, and the High Rock assumption was mostly due to the fact that the TES6 trailer looked like it was High Rock instead of Hammerfell, and High Rock is small enough to feasibly be a second province.

Bethesda wont get rid of main NPCs being immortal unfortunately.

FNV got close to doing it minus the quiz with the high fiving bears on tricycles. They give you a chance to save before another reroll on the off chance that the light change showed just how borked your character looks. I'll take that over getting farted out of a negress every single time for convenience sake.

lol no you will appreciate todds pretentious vision

4chin iirc. the one with the leaked video. high rock is suffering from a plague by peryite (which was referenced in skyrim); it's got multiple kingdoms.

assuming it's real, but it did have a video attached.

No I have Redguard fatigue

You wouldn't need clever workarounds if you could actually add shit to your engine but they have coded themselves into a corner with technical debt. Anything they they to add is going to break fifteen other things. Instead of rooting out problems it's just "clever workaround" after "clever workaround" until the code is an absolute tangled mess.

can't wait for gangster rap TES edition

Why is valid when it doesn't negatively impact the game in anyway?

i already went to hammerfell and every other continent in eso and after starfield i'm glad i did since a 2010s run of the mill mmo will be better than anything bgs will make and by 'make' i mean ai slopping and outsourcing 80% of the production somewhere else while todd lies about it being his "return to his roots" or whatever other marketing nonsense they'll use to trick people into thinking they can still make games after starfield proved otherwise in a myriad of hilarious ways.

hammerfell is barely in ESO.... and we've never been to akaviir period.

you're gonna be a prisoner and you're GONNA LIKE IT

Well sure but maybe i want to have a choice in what city i'm a prisoner in. Sure the starting quest will probably be the same regardless but what if how long it takes you do the intro stuff changes whether the prison ship you are on lands in Daggerfall/Wayrest/Sentinel/Bangkorai?

I'd like that, but knowing Bethesda we're probably gonna start in High Rock and wander down into Hammerfell as part of the story. Or we start in Hammerell and High Rock is just DLC

Probably yeah. A third of Anon Babble won't even be able to run it and another third will be too stuck up on there being niggers in the nigger region of Tamriel to give it a try.
I just wonder how they'll make the Redguards lame, I'm not a big fan of them but in old lore they're these Klingon-Spartan hybrid autistic desert warrior society where every women and child eats nails for breakfast, but you just know they'll make them into some Wakanda shit for mass appeal. Cyrodil was supposed to be big cities in a jungle patrolled by samurai and we just got Gondor with katanas.
