It's finally happened, I've got sick of action games
I need some high IQ puzzle em ups instead lads
Games like Outer Wilds, Myst, Riven, La Mulana etc

bros?
Chants of Senarr is goated, favorite game of recent times.
do yourself a favor and just play without the book that confirms your suspicions about what words are.
also when you're done Rootrees are Dead is pretty good, you actually have to figure things out and make assumptions which is nice.
Good morning Sennaars
Chants of Sennaar is fine. The entire gameplay is just deciphering an alien language and you move pretty slowly, so it's a calm experience. I don't know what the Switch has available to recommend. Blue Prince is good, but the RNG shit is annoying. Additional deduction games like Chants that are great are both Golden Idol games (less so the second one), Roottrees Are Dead, and Obra Dinn (genuine masterpiece). Lorelei and the Laser Eyes was a good puzzle entry last year that has a nice variety of puzzles.

It's cancer. You'll understand what I mean. But the gameplay is still good.
Pic unrelated then. What a boring slog of a game with the most basic bitch puzzles you can imagine.
did you just spoil dialogue with your freaking mind? yeah I do that now
no it's just forspoken cancer
almost as bad as this new captcha
The Talos Principle
for pure puzzles I've been enjoying Polimines 1 and 2. Fucked up crossbreed of picross and minesweeper
Humanity if you need a Lemmings-like fix
Cato, Animal Well, and Stick to the plan are recent puzzle games I've enjoyed.
How’s the talos 1 remaster?

BIY is shit
The whole word logic breaking rules thing isn't utilised, it's just sokoban
Not bad. Definitely better then the orig in terms of playability thanks to some nice QoL.
Still pretty much same game overall so you won't get anything crazily new if you've played it before beyond the new story. New story isn't anything too extravagant but there are a good 15 new and fairly tough puzzles.
roottrees are dead
blue prince
case of the golden idol
obra dinn
Isn't there another game like Sennaar where you're deciphering a foreign/ancient/alien language but it's first-person (if I'm remembering correctly)? I do know it was female protag.
heaven vault
I've never felt like more of an absolute fucking retard than when I played that game. I got to the point where the game opened up and I don't think I solved a single level. I was dropped on my head multiple times as a child to be fair to myself.
I liked it. It's got a lot of soul, loved the little illustrations in the book, and some of the optional stuff you can do.
It's also French.

This is me but with combat based RPGs after playing Disco Elysium.
To answer your request, go play INFRA it's absolutely incredible.
It's also French.
Wow. Why are the French such great game designers? I've been playing Expedition 33 and it's consistently impressed me.
It's what happens when you let them make games untainted by C*nada/Qu*bec.
How do you filter puzzle&corridors games like Myst and Talos Principle from actual investigation games like Obra Dinn?
Ubisoft though.

Sigh
the entire Artist language
the numbers of the Alchemist language
The alchemists have a ruler and calculator in their lab that you can easily use to learn their counting system. I'm not defending the artists though, fuck those guys.
Numbers are easy, they are structured in a really simple way. Artistic word order was INTERESTING.
I think it was the artists where I missed the rosetta stone at the start for multiple basic words. I was fucking blind for a solid hour.
Heaven's Vault. A game that really needs to be played more than once to get everything out of it. First because there's plenty you can miss with the choices you make and there's no way to undo what you've chosen, second because as you unlock more of the language the puzzles increase in difficulty in the NG+ to compensate, which also reveals more of the lore of the setting.
Do not play Blue Prince no matter what praise you hear about it, it is fucking abysmal. The golden idol games and DLCs are good but won't last you very long. Her Story is okay but not amazing. The Roottrees are dead is solid, the first storyline has flaws in its puzzle logic but the second story rectifies most of em.
Definitely give Void Stranger a try, though don't expect to fully finish it unless you really love it and dedicate yourself to it.
Sadly this isn't a genre with a lot of options available and the success of that blue prince dogshit is probably going to ruin any further attempts at the genre.
What's I'm personally hungry for is more structured environmental puzzles like The Room or House of Da Vinci, but without full escape room autism. If it's a full dungeon crawler like Legends of Grimrock II so much the better but that's it's own flavor.
The room series is definitely great. I feel like I should love the Da Vinci games but I've played two and I always get absolutely sick of them by the final couple areas. They have a new game coming out though, so you've got that to look forward to at least. As for blobber autism I guess you could always try the ever notorious Grimoire.
I finished chants of senaar and the roottrees are dead but this genre hurts my brain and i havent been getting enough sleep lately so trying to play more of them just makes my brain hurt.
Yeah, I was so-so on Da Vinci as well. I think it's a combination of worse puzzle design and the verisimilitude of an eldritch puzzle requiring precise dream logic being more palatable than "why the fuck can I not just pull this rope". And I try not to go full blobber.
Which one of you faggots told me The Room was good
Because I will hunt you down
haha, what a story mark
The first one's a pretty simple puzzlebox but they get better every game, with 3 being a particular standout.
