I've always wondered this too, yeah there was training facilities in their base, but most of the time she was a scout or whatever they called them, living off rations etc.

Because they're less durable than smaller melee weapons but too big to swing them rapidly. It's just a gameplay design thing. One swing takes as much time as two/three swings with a normal melee weapon but the outcome is the same. Hence 3 charges instead of 6/7 like most melee weapons have.

Literally just make Abby look like a buff woman and not a man taking estrogen would've reduced the fall back. Abby is too buff even for regular world standards. Most men wouldn't be able to get that buff without a decade of training under a strict high protein and fiber diet, meanwhile we're supposed to believe she's somehow bodybuilder level just cause she lives near a gym? If Abby's body looked like this we wouldn't be having arguments over this and instead point out that the gameplay is overrated and barely has time compared to the walking cutscenes.
