What would you say is Rare's best game?
What would you say is Rare's best game?
Banjo Tooie
Banjo Tooie
Diddy Kong racing
It isn't really much a debate. Donkey Kong Country 2 is their best game. Followed by Donkey Kong Country. Followed by Donkey Kong Country 3. Then probably followed by Donkey Kong Land 2.
DKC2 or Goldeneye or PD
dont listen to these guys
its perfect dark
Conker
Its probably not their best. But I have a soft spot for Jet Force Gemini. Its the closest we got to Metroid 64.
perufurect darkura
The original DKC sucks ass and it would be unquestionably the worst of the trilogy if baby kong didn’t exist. Thats the only problem with 3.
No it doesn't. I booted it up the other day on Switch and played through the whole thing. Short and sweet game with good graphics and music.
NES Era: Battletoads
SNES Era: DKC 3
64 Era: Perfect Dark
Microsoft era: I guess Kameo or Viva Pinata. Admittedly I have fun with Sea of Thieves.
What would you say is Rape's best game?
Rare was never good
inb4 fuck off Miyamoto
DKC2, Banjo Tooie, DK 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Goldeneye, Conkers Bad Fur Day and Battletoads.
Your favorite game is half as good as an average Rare game. Were your parents related before they were married?
Nintendo era: Donkey Kong Country 2, Banjo Tooie, and Goldeneye
Nothing from the Bill Gates era. He and his company ruined Rare and can never be forgiven.
Either DKC2, Diddy Kong Racing or Kazooie. Willing to also give renown to DKC1 given it was the first game, but don't want to give anything to any of their other 3D games since they subsequently took away the wrong lessons with each platformer released after Kazooie.
Diddy Kong Racing.
What could have been.
What went wrong with Rare?
They got bought out by Microsoft
The rot was there before imo. Late in the N64 life cycle they were commonly ridiculed for their collectathons.
Retarded tendie argument upset over their parents getting divorced.
Rare sucked ass in the NES era and Star Fox Adventures is one of the worst first party nintendo games ever. The late snes to N64 era was just a fluke.
Hell of a fluke if they were hitting it out of the park with every game.
Yes, but so were yours. You wouldn't be here otherwise.
Viva Pinata. Fight me.
Banjo Rapeei
DKC2, then DKC1, then it's not even close, everything else can fuck off.
Rare was swamped with the three Disney games they had to work on, taking away time from Banjo-Tooie and especially Dinosaur Planet, on top of NCL cutting funding from them after Perfect Dark released, or near release, I know NCL had tried some shit with them around 2000.
second this. PErfect Dark 64 was amazing.
Three? I know Mickey Speedway but what were the other two?
Mickey's Racing Adventure and Speedway had both a N64 and GBC version.
Based. Viva Piñata was unironically one of the most creative and charming games Rare ever made. The art style, the gardening mechanics, the progression system—absolute cozy kino. People slept on it because it didn’t involve guns or anthropomorphic animals swearing, but it had more soul than half of Rare’s catalog post-N64.
Also, that OST? Grant Kirkhope did not have to go that hard.
