Bonehoard

Bonehoard

Thieves Guild

Lost City

Which one filtered you?

Thieves Guild. Got stuck in the sewers for awhile and couldn't find a final piece of loot I needed to beat the level. It was at the base of a firepit. A necklace or something I think.

How can the Thieves Guild filter you when you just press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+END and the level ends?

I didn't have issues with Thieves Guild other than it's complicated to navigate. I didn't hate it either unlike the rest of the fandom. As much as i like to say i love Thief the Dark Project, i didn't really actually like bonehoard because it felt like a departure from it's strongest elements as a stealthing game, dungeon crawling levels like that just brought down the experience for me personally. I also think the whole supernatural elements departed from it being more grounded and that should have been kept to a minimum. Yeah I'm willing to overlook all the steampunk elements since that can be believable in some context. For me really it's just i like mansion/castle robbery in the city and it should stick to that. Which is why The Metal Age came out overall stronger.

I skipped the thieves guild. Got filtered by the mission after the mage tower, the ruins with all the lava.
I just got bored of the dumb monsters, the rest of the game was awesome. I'll go back and finish it sometime

this,
but if there is anything that really filtered me it's Soulforge, god what a pos level

TDP>Gold

Thieve's Guild is absolute trash, so make sure to use Gold to Dark. It removes Thieve's Guild but keeps the other two for the talisman pieces, if you want.

Imo bonehoard should be patched out instead of Thieves Guild

Down in the Bonehoard is great though. Thieve's Guild is trash.

The final few levels of the game are worse than any of these. Just endless enemy spam.

Down in the Bonehoard is great though

It's absolute fucking garbage. It's not even STEALTH in a stealth game you fucking nigger

imagine getting assraped by a level so hard that you spend time creating a mod that removes that level, like, just imagine the severity of anal leakage Chads Guild gave to that guy
To be fair, it takes a high IQ to appreciate Bonehoard and Lost City. A lot of philistines think Thief is a stealth game, but they're only 50% right. Thief is also a movement game about being an agile rogue. Bonehoard and Lost City exist to portray that side of the game, it's about platforming and precarious jumps and dodging fireballs and jumping from massive height just to grab a small ledge.

Thief isn't just a stealth game though. The non traditional stealth levels are good because of them being a clash to ordinary ones.

shit controls

shit graphics

shit stealth system

Overrated trash

I can tell you must be from Eidos Monreal

Thief isn't just a stealth game thoug

Thankfully that was mostly fixed in The Metal Age.

TDP is better. I didn't appreciate it the first time around but upon replaying the games, TDP is the better game because of its variety. Make sure to play Black Parade too.

only good cause nostalgia

Black Parade released in 2023

its literally just Thief Gold but on steroids

people love it

Anything with zombies.

be me

be little lad

older brother bought Thief on da PC

play it by myself, with the headphones on, in the dark

HHHUUUURRRRR

Nope.jpg

replying to the shittiest bait ever

Anon, if the image had used Thief 3 maybe it was more subtle, but it calls Thi4f good and soul.

What the fuck are you doing taking the post seriously.

TDP is better

Incorrect. But i do like Thief TDP's very strong stealth parts when they're there.

This but with all the gold levels.

The thing is, TDP is better even as a pure stealth game. Metal Age has godawful levels with terrible stealth, Running Interference is linear as hell even for an intro level, levels like Eavesdropping, Bank, Casing the Joint are ruined by no-fun-allowed marble and spy cameras everywhere, Kidnap and Cargo are technically stealth levels but don't feel like ones. T2 does features the peaks of series design namely Shipping, Life of the Party, and Framed.

People may hate Emil now but he did a good job designing Life of the Party.

The latter two weren't even in The Dark Project and Bonehoard was a cool level.

Lost City

not in The Dark Project

Nigger what?

Brainfart, I was thinking about the mage level.

None of them. Thieves guild is usually the part where I stop caring about ghosting and start going ham with the blackjack but I don't really hate it even if it feels a bit half-baked. Bonehoard is a great mission with incredible atmosphere, and while mage towers is pretty meh when it comes to the towers themselves, it's still tolerable.

by no-fun-allowed marble and spy cameras everywhere

Just use moss arrows? that allows you to tactically leap frog around when you need to. I'm not sure why the watchers bother you other than it adding another element of the don't get detected part? how doesn't that enhance stealth as an overall concept?
I get that you don't lie the marble concept because it just forces you into moss arrows. But it's all tactical minded like that. That should be in your planning phase before a mission. I stock up on those the MOST of everything since they're more useful than anything else if you're a good player.

Recently did a self-imposed challenge of only 3 saves per level and I had much more fun than I usually have replaying Thief. It made me actually use my resources like flash bombs and moss arrows instead of minmaxing and bruteforcing situations with savescumming. I wholeheartedly recommend trying it out.

All of these were kinda fun
Escape was pure garbage though and stopped on it
Up to this day i never finished TDP

Escape was pure garbage though and stopped on it

I think it's a pretty fun mission. One of the rare chances to make use of broadhead arrows on expert. All enemies except for bugbeasts die from one hit with the stealth bonus.

I got filtered in the first level because I never used consumables and tried to ghost on my first playthrough despite not knowing what ghosting was.

thief discussion

90% of it is seething about thieves guild

yep it's Anon Babble alright

bonehoard is kino, pure, classic distilled dungeon crawling

ALL OF THEM

It is its primary strength, but I wish TDM had some go-to packaged campaign for newcomers. Looking at all the options without some sort of recommendation paralyzes newcomers.

'ate robuts, simple as

Bonehoard, return to cathedral and shalebridge are the only good original missions.

TAFFER'D

None of them, love Bonehoard, Thieves Guild is a bit long in the sewer section but still fine and Lost City is cool as hell

Couldn't disagree more, I love the creepy underground dungeon crawling sections and found the entire steampunk bullshit and city emphasis in the sequel pretty disappointing.

Thanks for the (You) stupid fuck!

Don't stop him, retards like that pay my bills.

city emphasis

i like city missions in thief 1 style, especially the primitive feeling of augustine's revenge

like the Bonehoard, just wish it was shorter

Thieves Guild is mid but doable

luv me The Lost City, simple as

mfw reading someone got filtered by any of these

Now Mages Guild sucks ass. Also any fucking part of any level of any Thief game where I need to follow someone without getting caught.

This is the most retarded post I have read in the past year, congrats

bonehoard has SOVL. thieves guild was pretty bad but not the end of the world if you have any sense of direction. Lost city and mages towers just suck donkey dicks on a thematic level

elements as a stealthing game, dungeon crawling levels like that just brought down the experience for me personally

nobody was forcing you to gib the zombies. they are stealthable as any other NPC and even preferable. as not aggroing them does not make them bunch up in some tighter bottleneck trying to shamble towards garrett

thief threads have fallen so low there are unironic thieves guild apologists

It's over.

None. Bonehoard hooked me though. Hearing the horn of quintus blasting down the tomb corridors is otherworldly

I still remember when thiaf dropped and some anon streamed it for Anon Babble. What an absolute disaster of a game but we had a good time

cockrings

doesnt realize he can sneak around zombies and burricks

I got stuck wandering around the Thieve’s Guild for hours. Still got through it eventually. Absolutely kino game. I can’t believe people prefer the second one. I mean, The Metal Age is a good game, but just feels like a really well-done stealth game, whereas The Dark Project is far more creative, and you never know what it will throw at you next.

Shalebridge Cradle is the most reddit level in any video game ever

This, but replace the shitty reboot with Metal Gear Solid instead.

thieves guild is

TMA has some standouts like framed and first city bank, but between the retreads like masks, revisiting lost city, and a very monotone vibe, the creativity of levels from 1 like the sword just shines.

EH

Reddit couldn't make it past the casino

My favourite moment in the stream was anon getting chased around a brothel by guards only to hide in a closet right in front of a guard and the guard just stood there idling just watching the closet. Lost my shit

Playing thi4f made me appreciate dishonored for the modern masterpiece that it is

Bonehoard had the most soulful map in the series.

My favourite is the sword map. Just utterly useless after the first 5 minutes

I never got filtered. I love the whole of Thief 1 and Thief 2. Best horror games i've ver played! No other game has ever scared me as much.
