These games prove that the world needs more video games using European aesthetics. No, this is not some kind of backdoor schizo thread. I'm American and I've, frankly, grown tired of the generic fantasy, sci-fi, or American urbanized landscape that most games seem to default to. These games are elevated by their usage of European aesthetics, history, art, and culture that makes them stand out.
Too much of anything is bad and if we start reaching into the ass end of Europe to find anything to base a game on it would suck, but Christ I think we could use a few more games like these. Lies of P isn't even made by Italians yet it is the most Italian game ever made.
I mean seriously: We have games based on America and Japan and China constantly. Every game that comes out of China is based on Wu Kong. Most Japanese games have a clear Japanese aesthetic. American games tend to default to a generic urban landscape or just go for Scifi or Fantasy. Please. More European stuff.
