My dream is a Pokemon game that has this kind of feel

My dream is a Pokemon game that has this kind of feel.

go play Snap

Pal World mogs this

Oh yeah, Palworld was a thing. Almost forgot about it.

still seething about pokemon

how would you describe that feel?

And it will never happen, move on

You will genuinely never get this. Game Freak makes too much money from low effort shit, and their developers are hyper incompetent when it comes to making games. They don't even have Iwata to make the game half the file size without losing any actual content anymore. The game devs were never the real reason Pokemon was enjoyable, it was the idea you could collect hundreds of monsters and form your own party and stories.

watching the old anime makes me realize how lifeless and low budget the new series feels. very rarely are wild pokemon existing like that, they are just there to be relevant to the characters

lust provoking image

My dream is modern day anime with this kind of feel. I miss painted backgrounds like you wouldn't believe

Op’s webm is from a movie and more specifically an intro to one of the movies that’s there to explain what Pokemon and the world of Pokemon are. The old anime would very rarely have Pokemon out in the open like that because it ran on a very low budget.

Pokemon Snap

AAAH.gif - 500x200, 491.9K

Objectively correct

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Waaaaaaaaaait a minute, I thought Porygon was a virtual pokemon. How is it just floating there IRL. Explain please

kek

Literally pokemon snap

How? There's no Gardevoir anywhere in that webm, anon.

Porygon is an artificial Pokémon made completely out of programming code. It has the ability to convert its body into digital data, allowing it to travel through cyberspace.

it's like Code Lyoko or some shit

What are those Lapras thinking about?

This is why Pokemon is so much more superior to all the other pokemon clones. The monsters feel like animals in a working ecological system. Not like some random ass monsters with 0 though put into them other than "looking cool"

The monsters feel like animals in a working ecological system

937.png - 475x475, 123.8K

What I always found retarded even as a 13 years old when it became popular is that most pokemons are described as pests, actual nuisances fucking up infrastructure, actual threats to human life, or outright living natural disasters.
Is there a single reason the dangerous ones are not hunted down to extinction by humans while the others useful ones are kept as livestock/pets?

Never played snap, but I remember reading about how to get slowbro in a nintendo power or something, and even that bare minimum level of interaction would be very welcome in the mainline games. I want a game that simulates the ecology.

fippy bippy

Why is it always anime faggots that ask for le Pokémon MMO.

You will eventually be able to go inside video games through simulations but all of us will be dead by the time those are invented.

Sure thing retard

The game devs were never the real reason Pokemon was enjoyable

Fuck you. Iwata was the most based Nintendo dude and I won't have you slandering him.

What do you mean? Going into games machines have been around for a long time. Well I lost my mine but they exist.

That's why new pokemon sucks

Would he die in there?

play the pokemon minecraft mod

That's basically Mystery Dungeon

I remember everything going downhill after that pokemon vacation movie

good

Scarlet and Violet are doing that to an extent with wild Pokemon just hanging around and in groups, the problem is the environments of S/V look like shit

My dream is a Pokemon game that has this kind of feel.

never gonna happen under gamefreak

And you'll never find it. There are 1025 pokemon, and no realistic way to program them all to behave differently and have interactions with each other outside of scripted events and animations. In SV, there are like 5 different behavior types that wild Pokemon can have, and there can be like 20 of them running around at any given time. Do what the first post said any play Snap. Every single course in that game uses predetermined animations the entire way through, and it's basically the same every time you go back to the course. This will never be possible in a mainline game.

If you're being serious, that's how you get it to evolve into a Charizard a few seconds later to take pictures of. Either hurling an Apple or Pester Ball directly at it should knock it into the pool.

no he becomes a Charizard if I remember right

Game Freak makes too much money from low effort shit

It's not even possible to create a mainline game the behaves like OP's video. It doesn't matter if it's gamefreak or an actually competent company.

It's a cartoon for kids. They don't expect the target audience to put a lot of thought into the implications some Pokémon factoids would bring. There are plenty more ridiculous entries in the pokedex.

Slugma.jpg - 1500x944, 771.07K

It would be too fun and have too much sovl. Nintendo would never allow it.

OPs gif is based on a game where literally nothing visible happens at all in the overworld outside of NPCs taking a single step every 10 seconds.

having epilepsy

The weak should fear the strong

It's at odds with the game mechanics. If Pokemon actually just roamed around in hordes like this, kids would be barraging them with pokeballs and then the whole place would be empty.

You're talking about a world where living pokemon can be converted into energy and stored on a computer's hard drive

nintendo is allergic against innovation

Across the entire franchise and all mediums, there's been like 5 total instances where a pokemon was confirmed to die.

It's 2025 anon it's been possible for more than 15 years.

Nintendo doesn't make these games, idiot.

as everyone has said your dream game is Pokemon Snap

yeah with scripted animations.

calm your tits tendie

I'd love to see a Pokemon animated movie that has no plot and is just shot like one of those nature documentaries.

Ironically the closest game to that is pokemon SV

Child molester says what?

Yeah dude the armored ghost is bad the living computer is a-ok tho

fucking idiot

Yeah, there was a charizard in there and it probably ate the charmeleon

charizard was too close to the camera to ever be able to take a perfect picture of it

who's brilliant idea was this

containment board
now

>>

it was a-ok because it was an exception instead of the rule, which is the real problem with nu-pokemon

sure it is dude

It would be extremely painful

What are you even talking about? What rule?

that pokemon are animals. are you retarded or something?

year is 2032

ai has advanced enough that game freak makes the new pokemon games entirely with it

features new "immersive ai world" to simulate any pokemon ecology and environment with ai

...

ai censors get broken and people figure out how to activate porn mode within 3 days

That already exists, it's pretty good. Still have to finish it. Went for the no-cheat tackle challenge and post-game filtered me hard, but at this point I'm waiting for DLC2 to get translated to come back
Maki best girl

With this logic like 1/4 of the first gen is out. Not much of an "exception" then

back to your containment site wojack nigger

on the way to the grocery store leaving work late at night

get electrocuted to death by a wild voltorb

I look like this and say this but I'm handsome and clean.

he's one of those retards who says old pokemon were better because they were based on animals, and always conveniently forgets to mention electrode, magnemite, machoke, hitmonchan, jynx, porygon, mr. mime, etc. Then when you point it out, he has to pull some reddit shit out of his ass to justify why he's still right even though he's wrong. you can make the claim that "well electabuzz was based on a mythical japanese oni, it doesn't need to be based on a real animal" while conveniently also not mentioning that basically every single pokemon with a confusing design actually has a tight origin basis when they aren't real animals. All of them do. No pokemon is truly random mish mash.

He just doesn't play the games anymore and doesn't care to learn about the origins of the new one, so he claims they're bad because he's too stubborn to actually explain why.

Title or you're lying

get electrocuted to death by a wild voltorb

not likely. voltorb is incapable of learning literally any electric moves outside of human provided TM items.

No pokemon is truly random mish mash.

type:null

It's not 1998 anymore anon, we can in fact make video games that go beyond the limitations of a PS1.

You'll have your mind blown when you come out from that rock you live under and see what AI is doing.

ol.jpg - 1710x900, 446.48K

This is my favorite design in s/v because it looks like a Net Navi from MMBN.
Never played s/v though and never will.

Type: Null and Silvally are Team Aether's attempt to make an artificial Arceus, same as Team Rocket made Mewtwo as an artificial Mew.

because it was an exception instead of the rule

Problem is there's a chunk of gen 1 mon like that like magnemite, hitmonchan, machoke, voltorb

I've been breeding Voltorbs and setting them free for the past 10 years, that was my fault

Never played s/v though and never will.

You should, performance aside it's pretty good and they put in a lot of small details here an there like hoppip and jigglypuff being blown away in storms because they're so light.

see what AI is doing

Get back at me when AI is making playable games that are indistinguishable from real games, instead of 10 second videos of a camera slowly panning away from a prompted character walking down the street, jeet

One of my favorite details is that you can actually catch one of the Squawkabillies on top of your house right at the start of the game, and they have the ability intimidate.

I'm not playing s/v. It looks like complete and utter garbage. It isn't something can be forgiven with small details like that.

They were identifiable, creatures you could look at and immediately say "Ah ok, yeah I get it". Nowadays it's a mishmash of shapes and growths, I guess it's to be expected when you have to make hundreds and hundreds of creatures, eventually you'll run the well dry.

You really are braindamaged aren't you? Defending games that look like someones higschool project from 2005, I can't even compare them to modern indie titles because even they are far beyond what you see in modern pokemon games.

I enjoyed that webm immensely. My favorite part was the whole thing. From start to finish, perfection. I hope they release many more fine Pokemon products from a class S tier company like gamefreak. I love playing Pokemon on the gameboy while pooping. Some of my best poops were a result of Pokemon. I like to lay with my feet on the wall behind the toilet, and my hands on the floor while playing Pokemon advanced with my penis. I can flex my hard as fuck penis to use Pikachu and win every battle with gusto and finesse. My DPS is extremely high. Not much feels compatible to capturing the full set of pokemon, and then going for the next game.

Nowadays it's a mishmash of shapes and growths

Not really. There's very clear cohesion in each design.

Mr Mime is not based on any animal. It is based on a mime. It doesn't matter if you get it or not, the claim was that all the old pokemon are based on animals. Sure Porygon is a computer program, but it's very obviously based on a duck. Mr Mime has no such excuse. You don't get to claim "I get it" when the claim that such things didn't exist back then.

Huh-uh.

Sounds like you just don't enjoy the genre. This genre lives and dies by small details and reasons to explore and SV has that on spades.
I think you've just been poisoned by the webms people post off fairly rare glitches.

I think Scat Vomit fucking sucks and the designs have gotten worse but the issues aren't with them being based on animals or not. It's way more subtle with how they're designed and what they're trying to appeal to.

Jap devs have completely lost their magic. None of them can make a truly great pkmn

Stupid genwunner.
Where are Gardevoir, Lopunny, Meowscarada, Tsareena, and Vapoeron?

...In my brothel. Duh.

Vapoeron

it's gen won, doe?

the webms people post off fairly rare glitches

A lot of those webms were recorded from the games being emulated on a computer. I played the game for a little over 100 hours and I don't recall ever seeing a single graphical glitch, just slowdowns. That's not a glitch, that's bad optimization. One of the most common graphical glitch images I see is of Luxray specifically having messed up textures, yet in using a Luxray I never experienced that myself.

Satan really liked Pokemon. He made all them. Pokemon means to poke a mon. He made it look like he used advertising to encourage child rape, to prevent it or something. The 66th pokemon is machop. Who is clearly the representation of a boy, who would’ve been the target audience. Machop means eat food, ho bad. Machoke means eat food, ho good. But he used hokey instead, which is a double negative to yet again mean ho bad. And machamp means eat food, raping children is bad. And it’s the final form. He writes a lot about celibacy. He tells us not to reproduce. And to not compare ourselves to our neighbours.

I played the game for a little over 100 hours and I don't recall ever seeing a single graphical glitch, just slowdowns.

I mean, I got a decent amount like the textures disappearing in the desert area and somehow lodging myself on geometry that eventually relocated Koraidon after "falling" for ages but nothing like the massive delibird which I found extremely disappointing. I mean, glitches like that are why I still play Bethesda games, a pokemon game like that would have been hilarious but... No

The 69th pokemon is a fleshlight. The 420th pokemon is a grass type. The 666th pokemon has different forms to reflect and blend in to wherever the player lives in the real world so it doesn't look out of place.

why wont game freak make a AAA pokemon game for once? they have the money

Why would you want a AAA game?

genuinely, why should they. people will buy it regardless and it will be the best selling game on its respective console. these games are made for kids first and foremost, and the adults who complain about them being too cartoony or not challenging enough aren't even a consideration.

I really love the water foam that japanese animation does. Anybody have more examples of it besides wind waker?

Some guy made a shooter-style Surfing Pikachu fangame, it gives me the same feel as the first part of your webm.

odg6fE.png - 1916x1072, 44.54K

am I the only one who loved wind waker?

they're retarded

yes, you are. they had no business releasing a remaster of it on the wii u, because you are the only person they would have been marketing it to.

no I had the promo game cube disk with oot as well with master quest

they have the money

they have the money because they don't go 5 years between releases. people would not buy an AAA pokemon game like they would buy a new GTA so they can't justify spending that much on a new release.

I never said anything about the remaster

Me, too. With good cities/towns that have things to do in them and a bunch of good sidequests and secrets to find throughout the region.

new Pokémon games kind of suck.

They "suck" because you only play pokemon

they have the money
these games theyre making dont cost that much
plus they get money from merchandise and card sales, they can afford to make a good big budget pokemon game

Come to think of it, is there a Pokemon game where you can go underwater?

why wont game freak make a AAA pokemon game for once?

Why would they bother when they can do the bare minimum and still sell tens of millions of copies?

Posting some facts.

pokescience.jpg - 900x2160, 336.72K

Pokemon discussion is so fucking annoying because half of the people talking about haven't engaged with the franchise in more than a decade and their actual desires for the series are the most nebulous undefined horseshit imaginable ("I want a Pokemon game like this" and it's just the Pokemon existing in nature as if that defines anything about what the fucking video game should be).

There isn't a single other franchise on earth where so much of the discussion is dominated by vibes-driven casuals that haven't touched it in a decade. And then all of them feel as if their driveby commentary is meaningful and justified because the games are buggy even though their meaningless dogshit opinions that are purely vibes bullshit.

Palworld taught me that those people don't want Pokemon. They want yet another dogshit friendslop multiplayer crafting co-op game they can play with their friends for two weeks before never touching it again that they can act like is some sort of "what Pokemon should have been" when they don't even know what Pokemon is in the first place besides a vibe they had as a kid.

because japs are autistic and like to make good products to uphold honor

He's not defending anything, he's correctly stating that no game replicates the intricate detail in the OP. You're the one that won't provide any examples proving otherwise.

Gamefreak is definitely an exception there

Why are tendies so stupidly naive?

Never ever

I've said this before; Palworld appeals to people who like the concept of Pokémon, a world populated by colorful animals you can capture, but not the gameplay, a turn based RPG.

Palworld taught me these people want a better game than Pokemon can deliver

Where's the problem

casuals

you are a pokemon fan

Pokemon Arceus and SV were a step in the right direction

Palworld does a great job showing that an open world pokemon game where the pokemon all just walk in 10ft circles around their spawn wouldn't be what OP wants.

you're joking, right?

Intricate detail

Basic open world with mobs walking around

truly beyond our capabilities, maybe in another 100 years

yeah, and pokemon already has 4 games that do exactly this. so that's not an argument. OP basically wants a playable nature documentary where the creatures are able to move and act in dynamic ways that are not pre scripted. He doesn't want an actual pokemon game. He'd be better off just watching planet earth.

Palworld appeals to people who like the concept of Pokémon

Nah, not really because Palworld doesn't really do that concept justice, the monsters are just... Out there with no real sense of reason or cohesion and they don't really react to the environment in any way.
