Bombs have audible/visual feedback for their use and collection, and you choose when they activate. The little meters can change color but you don't know a hyper or pyramid is coming just by listening. Often you get rugpulled by the hyper where the black flames show up but nothing happens because you messed up the counter or whatever.

Importantly, when I want to know the most is when there are a million bullets and I can't look away.

Thoughts on the demo

I love the theorycrafting part of mix-and-matching gems to produce best shottype with best passive effects now that we have all the effects translated on wiki. I don't like how you have to beat the game so many times before you can start doing that, buying them for currency like 100BM would be better IMO.
Love the soundtrack except for stage 2 boss.
Don't like the Illuminati showing up during bossfights and they are bit too tanky.
Really like how all the gems names and all the shottypes are references to different previous characters and games, really feels like a big homage to all previous ZUN's works which is fitting for 20th mainline game.
I hope he can work on balancing it a bit and that the full version will be amazing.

You really don't want to lose a life in this game. Not just because 4P feels pretty crucial to shots' damage & spread, but because it seems to also fuck with chaining hypers & potentially robbing yourself out of valuable bomb or life pieces.
Echoing everyone's thoughts on the difficulty. Nareko could pass as a Stage 5 boss no problem, Chimi mixes Stage 3/4 nons with some slightly easier versions of Okina & Momoyo spells.
Wonder Stone can really fuck you up I think they should maybe only stick to stages & nons. A non red wonder stone on Nareko's micro dodge spell is pretty miserable.
