Reminder Mikami didn't want her, and his ideas for sidekicks were a cyborg man, and a smart alec black guy. I can sorta see how these two were recycled for Dino Crisis, and they're acceptable but not exactly breakout characters. Rebecca was a cutesy young female character, and Mikami doesn't like those kind of characters and felt he was forced to include Becky.

DVDs. The GC easily had the best looking games and some of the great exclusives but its lack of a DVD drive put it at a disadvantage, although I can't really blame Nintendo for not having the foresight that consoles would morph into media centers since they focus on basic, fun and simple gameplay.
But Baten Kaitos and RE1/0 were easily in the top 3 best looking games of that gen.

One of RE4's prototypes going on to become Haunting Ground which reuses assets and scrapped story elements from the 3.5 build of the game. Haunting Ground is really good and it emulates really well (a lot of PCSX2 games require a lot of fiddling). Its also not afraid of the jiggle.

I enjoyed it all the way through, but the Hot Monkay Dick and constant hookshot backtracking was annoying. The Tyrant was fun. I did not like the Leech Queen at all, and I can understand people getting frustrated by the Leech Men if they didn't know how to plan for those encounters

I hate how it doesn't gel well with the events of RE at all. Does Becky in 1 seem like someone who has just gone on some insane adventure and killed a Tyrant? She doesn't explain anything and you just think she's been hunkering down since her squad got killed.

I sure did, more times than you have.There was train, then Training center, then chapel, then area below chapel that has a few labs in it, but neither looks more has a layout in any way similar to RE2’s lab, then you briefly visit the Marshalling Yard/elevator from RE2, but don’t actually go into the lab, then a dam/hydroelectric plant.
