I just bought an RTX 5080
What am I in for?
I just bought an RTX 5080
too deep
Buyers remorse
lots of Mirror's Edge gameplay
fake frames
regret that you never bought a 5090
I was going to get one but I found a good price on a 4090 and I had interest in local language models so the 24gb VRAM made more sense.
Games do be running good though, it's nice. Try out Indiana Jones or some other "tech showcase" style game to see what it can really do.
sex
Buying a 5090 is one thing, having a pc that can leverage it and not explode is another.
regret that I didn't spend another grand or two?
briefly looked at 4090 prices and they didn't even come close to what I paid for this one
regret that I didn't spend another grand or two?
yes.
black screens
Full path-tracing. Over a hundred frames. 0ms input lag. The. Best. Gaming. Experience. Ever.
doubt, but if I did, I could easily sell this one and get that 5090; but spending well over double for a 30% gain didn't feel like a very worthwhile proposition.
thanks anon. you really lifted my spirits
I just bought an RTX 5060 TI.
What am I in for?
I unironically believe even AMD's RX 9000 series will be obsolete sooner than their own RX 7000 series now that cut back on VRAM to match Nvidia, a repeat of what we saw with Nvidia's 8 GB cards compared to the freaking RX 6800.
As an RTX 3070 ti owner, the same performance but without the dire VRAM issues.
Lots of black screens and troubleshooting judging from my experience. You also have less driver options to roll back to than other 50-series card users because 5060 Ti is the newest one.
I can't deduce what that has to do with my new card. What are you getting at?
Worse than a 3060
A **70 class nvidia card experience
A mid tier GPU with shitty drivers that you paid flagship prices for. Also it'll be outdated in a few months when Nvidia releases the super variants since this is their new release tactic. Scam the retards then pretend to correct the abysmal value proposition with a super variant
AND I’M TRYIN’ TO KEEP
outdated in a few months when Nvidia releases the super variants
Cope
If you don't understand the concept of 16 GB becoming obsolete, I'm afraid we can't talk. I'll let someone else beat you up over it.
Sorry but I didn't waste money on a 5080 so I have no reason to cope, you however have every reason to be coping about this
You're only going on about AMD cards in a thread about a nvidia gpu, and then you imply I'm the retard?
I didn't waste money on a 5080 either. But saying that it needs more vram is pure delusion. Only the 5070 needs more vram.
At 4k, 16gb is absolutely not enough unless you will sell it when the 6XXX come out and get one of those.
Why do I need 16gb VRAM? Is 8gb that BAD now?
but spending well over double for a 30% gain
it's more than 30%. A 5090 is 30-40% more than a 4090, which is about 20% or more than a 5080.
If you're running 1440p then you're fine. If you want 4k with RT then you'll want more than the 5080
At 4k, 16gb is absolutely not enough
true dat
I doubt anyone with a 4k monitor is going to render new games at native rez
69% gpu
86% cpu
Holy cpu bottleneck
Also 28 gb of ram used on top of 22 gb of vram. What the fuck kek
mid tier GPU
hahahha what? it ranks third out of all the GPUs in the world right now, and is second in a lineup of six cards.
you either do not understand what mid is supposed to mean, or you're just a coping (poor)faggot
Have you considered that I had al-tabbed to take that pic? Yeah I thought not.
20% more performance than a 9070xt for 200% the price
GoyMD moment.
Source? I try to avoid 'my ass', which you are clearly referencing.
Benchmarks say otherwise; the effective speed of the 5090 is 132% of the 5080, and the 4090 is only 111%
RETARD, DIDN'T YOU CONSIDER I AM THE ACTUAL RETARD HERE?
Regret.
This is expected behaviour if anon is using chrome.
????
I paid 36% more than what the 9070xt goes for, while average performance of the 5080 is +42%, and average scores are +68%
while average performance of the 5080 is +42%, and average scores are +68%
Interdasting
sure is
I just got a 4090 a few months ago for 600 bucks from an arab dad who was upsold the pc by a store who told him he needed it for light gaming and browsing
userbenchmark
I don't want to smell burnt plastic
The connector is fine - turns out nvidia users are just unable to plug things in correctly.
I have a 5090 and I regret not getting an rtx 6000 pro
i only use it for AI shit, but its beefy
the tensor cores are much faster than i thought
niggabyte
melting thermal pads last i heard
A spot on the nightly news.
gay sex
is it over for me bros? i do plan to use it for editing on top of gaming
local store has 5090 in stock
already have 7900xtx
have psu to run 5090
Should I pull the trigger?
No, you have so much to live for.
On buying the GPU. I have too big of a ego for self end
What am I in for?
32.4% interest and minimum monthly payments for 6 years.
The 5090 sucks ass and you will not in any way be getting your money's worth.
I see a lot saying not to jump from 4000 series to 5000 but I have a 1080ti still and the 5070ti is cheaper than the 4070ti supers so......
i plan to upgrade from a 1080 to a 3060 or 3060TI for 1440p cause the poor graphic card is giving in after almost 10 years of use, i have a i7 10700kf, will it bottleneck my cpu like a motherfucka or i shouldnt care?
Thanks for highlighting why everything is a joke.
think of all the games you could buy for the price of a 5090 that will still run on an XTX (it's all of them, by the way).
damn I thought building a pc would cost tons of money with all the inflation, but nope its almost the same price as I spent on my 7 years ago
Go for it if its in budget, the value proposition for the 5XXX series is just immensely shit from the 4XXX series but also generally just bad price/performance value. However you are multiple generations behind which means its still worth
Play the HL RTX demo and Portal RTX if you haven't already
Worse performance and less VRAM than a 4090 yet the same price. Black screens and driver issues. Maybe even missing ROPs and a fried 12VHPWR lmao.
The average Anon Babbleidot.
I think the 5080 and 5090 are 'worth it' if they're MSRP. I'm staying with my 4080 Super, if I had to buy a current generation card, it would be the 9070 XT.
The 1080ti still plays games. Both the 4070ti super and 5070ti would just be gigantic wastes of money.
stop being a fucking retarded consoomer
You are not getting the same tier of performance for the same money you are buying a worse tier gpu than you did last time in order to pretend prices didn't go up.
The 16 GB really does make more sense when you remember that the 5080 is actually a 5070.
its still would be better than a a pc nearly decade old hardware
Shitty drivers that give you black screens, BSODs and game crashes. If they even install properly in the first place.
Then what is a 5070??
5050 Ti
Wait......so a 5080 is actually a 5070
and a 5070 is actually a 5070ti?
So what is a 5070ti?
So what is a 5070ti?
its on the chart its a rebranded 5060. Nvidia is scamming the shit out of you idiots and has been doing so for as long as i can remember, especially people dumb enough to buy a card before the super refresh when they capitulate from the backlash.
A card not good enough for 4k but too good for 1440/1080 and VRAM which gimps it's lifespan. also broken drivers for at least the next 4 months
CONSOOMER HAHA
LOOK MOM I POSTED THE BUZZWORD
jesus fucking christ
it's still in the top 3 of best GPU's currently on the market, posting that graph doesn't change anything about that
kek, absolutely no point to make so he resorts to being triggered as an argument. Buy your 5080 retard, it was made especially for you and you're going to love it because you're too stupid to realise you were scammed.
I only bought a 5080 (Asus TUF) because I happened upon one while shopping at Best Buy for something else, and because my GPU had just died on me the night prior
I still plan on getting a 5090 if/when they become more readily available at not scalped prices though because 32gb VRAM is just too good.
Though if the 5080 TI/Super rumors are true I may simply sidegrade to that and call it for this gen.
too good for 1440
lol lmao
Good card but the recent drivers are AMD tier.
I really hope you bought the 16gb version
Recent AMD drivers are probably better. Or at least, I haven't really heard of people complaining about them.
700W
a literal sauna
5060 ti has 16 gb
5070 has 12 gb
Why am they does this thing?
I'll spell it out for you, but without the zoomie lingo you seem to love so much: the 5080 is in no way of reasoning near the middle or median in the range of performance of current GPUs whichever way you look at it, and the picture you quickly googled shows nothing to disprove that
so feel free to admit it: "i just like using the word 'mid' in the same way 8 year old fortnite children use it: to describe something they dislike"
why? I still have an 2080 and works fine. Might upgrade come black friday, but im content with what my PC came with in the mean time
what would your personal setup have to do with anon buying a new thing? you suffer from main character syndrome?
it's still in the top 3 of best GPU's currently on the market, posting that graph doesn't change anything about that
The 5080 like the 4080 before it is a mid-range card marketed as high-end, this is just pure fact. The numbers don't lie. Just because Nvidia didn't release an actual high-end card this generation between their mid-range and enthusiast tiers doesn't change that.
Perhaps you missed the first word of my post. I asked why. Why they felt the need to pick it up. What were they upgrading from, what were they looking to play etc. These would be the responses a non-social outcast with respond with. As for brining up my setup its just to say "ya I run shit on the lower end so im just curious what they were planning with this" As I said I have no plans to upgrade but perhaps if anon said "well i wanted to do this cool thing" i would be tempted to upgrade sooner. Understand now?
I bought a 4060ti because I just want to play old stuff anyway.
Just saying "why," then going into a story about yourself and your low standards doesn't mean that you asked what they are upgrading from.
hahahah what? it's just 95% a story about yourself, you fucking weirdo narcissist
would a narcissist brag about a 2080?
but better performance than your pc
pure fact
fact based on what? your opinion?
the numbers
and what's the defining numerical trait of a high-end card then?
the 5080 is in no way of reasoning near the middle or median in the range of performance of current GPUs
It is below the middle of the range of performance, measuring by performance, half way between Nvidia's lowest and highest available cards this gen. It will sit pretty much exactly in the middle once the 5060 is released.
Are you retarded? genuine question
A braggart perhaps wouldn't like to post about his 2080, I didn't call you a braggart. A narcissist, however, wouldn't care about his possessions, since he sees himself as great regardless and would grasp at anything to make the conversation about him
so i have to hand it to you, you're pretty succesful
fact based on what? your opinion?
Based on the information you've already been shown.
and what's the defining numerical trait of a high-end card then?
Being within a certain percentage of performance of the flagship card, which was relatively consistent for several generations up until the 40xx.
source: my literal ass
No. Are you? (not a genuine question, I know the answer)
So what you're saying is that just before the 5070 series cards released you'd be classing the 5080 as a bottom of the range card?
You're an absolute slobbering mong
"why" is a pretty open question. I dont think it had to have been answered from that angle. I think your just shitting on em for having an outdated rig
Bought a 4080 back in 2022 for $900. Still haven’t regretted getting a 4090. I won.
So this card is ranked third in a list of 25 cards, and that makes it mid tier to you? Seems pretty fucking retarded to me.
Hi my names bob, I live next door. I lived in here for my whole life and I saw you just moved in
wow what a narcissist bringing themselves up first thing.
I cant imagine you have many friends
he didn't wait for the 24GB super
lol, lmao
very characteristic (and also pretty funny) of you seeing the situation in the posts above like that
The conversation didn't start with you here, nor was the subject matter at hand about your current situation.
So it went more like this:
Hey my wife just birthed my first born son, I'm so very proud!
-Why? I've had a dog for the past ten years and I'm really happy with him, I'm not looking for a wife or a baby.
Dogshit drivers and deep regret when the 5080S has 24GB VRAM.
proof read your post before you submit next time
Thinking asking "why," for something without expanding on the subject then getting defensive when someone points out that you didn't explicitly ask what you wanted to learn is something children do.
Talking about how your extremely old hardware still works fine and how you personally don't need more is poverty cope.
wait for something you won't find in stock and definitely not as MSRP
post-tariffs
Apparently black screens and restarts, because I'm getting it all the fucking time after getting a new PC from my old 1070. This shit fucking sucks
Hmmm…. According to this graph, all the VRAMLET cards are outperforming cards with more VRAM. But techshills and Anon Babble told me more vram is better?
. I won.
. bought a 4080
lol
haha, the inevitable waitfaggot posting in a thread about video cards
Siiiip. Yup. Enjoying fast actioned 4K graphics without DLSS while you can’t even run 1440p sloppa.
Bought one after getting sick of how unstable my 7900 XTX is at the factory OC (fine in most but definitely not all, so I have to underclock it regularly depending on what I'm playing) and now instead of one kind of okay but mostly frustrating card I have two. Hopefully once the three pajeets they have working on the drivers get their shit together the 5080 will be a 'pretty good' card but it's never going to be more than that.
I did. It’s literally the same argument for not buying the top of the line Jew card retard.
So what you're saying is that just before the 5070 series cards released you'd be classing the 5080 as a bottom of the range card?
No, I wouldn't have had enough information to make a call. There is plenty enough information available now though to class the 5080 as a mid-range card since it performs a solid 30% worse than the flagship card and only 10% better than the next card.
sources dont exist if i ignore them
great debate tactic. just shut your eyes and plug your ears and you can win too
I have a 5090. But please go on
So it's a mid range GPU because 3 cards are released and it's the middle one?
stop doubling down on being retarded
poverty cope
yep, as I said you just wanted to shit of em for a bad rig
Yeah it ranks pretty highly if you count a bunch of discontinued cards from previous generations.
I bought the 4080
I havent regretted getting the 4090
yup, thats what you posted, you read it twice now, and yet you call me a retard.
I have a *incomprehensible Indian babble*
Thank you for admitting you’re retarded anon.
how many dicks did you suck to afford your 4080 sanjeet?
you haven't cited a single source on what defines a mid or high tier card, just your rantings
None, because unlike your Indian ass I didn’t need to SPREAD ‘em for rupees.
it even ranks second if you remove discontinued cards from the equation
Was it a joke? I bought an apple so i never regretted buying a pear? Because otherwise that's retarded.
You could however buy an apple and regret NOT buying a pear, but that's not what you said.
Let me explain this to you again, inserting your own stories about how you personally don't *need* more is narcissistic poverty cope.
What did you spread them for, dollars?
Pokémon cards, dummy.
5060 Ti
Similar performance to a 3070 from 4 years ago but with half the bus width and extra VRAM(which the card isn't powerful enough to fully utilise). Congrats.
The 5070TI OC has 16.
