Their studios dont have as much freedom as the cheap contractors, so projects like ff16, which could have been good / salvagable, ended up shit due to dumbing down the gameplay for the modern call of duty player. They wanted the Sony audience for their big AAA projects and that doomed them. Should have just made their own thing and people would come. (E.g NieR Automata)

yeah its definitely not a perfect game. the story was a good concept but the way its told is honestly terrible. the combat system is mid as hell. theres too many fucking characters who are paper thin. but its still oozing with soul, still has some of the best OST ever made, still one of the prettiest prerendered games of all time, its still a great game even if its not perfect or as complete an experience as chrono trigger.
