Nothing too interesting, sales down across the board as Nintendo prepares for the Switch 2 launch. Some data:

Switch hardware at 152.12 million

Super Mario Party Jamboree at 7.48 million

Zelda Echoes of Wisdom at 4.09 million

Paper Mario TTYD at 2.1 million

Mario & Luigi Brothership at 1.97 million

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD at 1.88 million

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD at 1.27 million

They forecast 15 million sales for Switch 2 this fiscal year, so from June to March 2026. Seems slightly conservative to me.

152 million sold and counting.

Feels good being King.

lol you don't get to claim their success you fucking dork

What was their forecast for the Switch 1?

See They only forecast 4.5 million over the next year which would bring it to 156.6. Enough to beat the real PS2 number but not the cope one. I guess they don't plan on a price cut for Switch 1 and are just focused on Switch 2 going forward, unless they decide on it later to clear out stock.

do i invest in nintendo?

Xenoblade X didn't hit a million

Shame.

Wasn't 155 the cope number?

you will never get rich from video games, son

lol stupid boomer parents i bought nintendo stock
*blocks your phone number*

This is as of March 31, it only had only been released for 10 days at that point

I see.

But the bulk of sales happen in the first week usually unless it's an evergreen or has great word of mouth.
Then again, maybe it sold like 950k in those 10 days.

IIRC that was from 2012 which was still a realistic timeframe for a sales update on PS2 considering how long it kept going after the PS3's botched release. 5 more million units out of nowhere between then and 2024 long after it was fully discontinued is the unrealistic data.

it was 160, they're never gonna beat 170
the PS2's gonna stay on top with 180

It will reach at least 1 million no problem, but going by series standard, 10 days is not enough

you are the cuck retard, a cow being milked
no wonder animals can't talk

IIRC that was from 2012

Anon, they said

over 155 million units

Guess what's over 155 million, 160 million.
It's official data, get over it.

Only hard data we have as of now is the Japanese physical sales being 74k on its debut and 104k as of two weeks ago, so it has kept selling steadily. I don't think it will have issues getting to 1M if it hasn't already.

I don't think it's that bizarre. Switch 1 did ~18 million in its first year and I do think the pricing is going to put some families off compared to the Switch 1's relatively cheaper price point. If anything the 4.5 million for Switch 1 is more surprising to me because even the 3DS had better legs than that post-Switch. Maybe they're really trying to drop the Switch sooner than I thought.
The 160,000,000 number is from as early as 2013. I don't know why people act like its such a ridiculous number either, fucking everyone had a PS2.

I really do wonder what their expectations were for M&L, I hope that's enough for another entry to be made.

Maybe they consider the Switch 1 potential competition for the Switch 2 due to the much lower price point.

Indeed. We won.

I wonder if Monolithsoft's twitter would celebrate the series reaching 10 million sales, because that could happen any day now

They will still beat the cope number in by the end of 2026

It seems fine, 2M makes it the third best-selling game in the series, it definitely came back from Paper Jam and especially the remakes which didn't sell well. I think they'll keep going with both (actual RPG) Paper Mario and M&L, maybe hopefully stagger their releases better instead of dumping them so close to each other. Super Mario RPG did some 3.5 million so I wonder if they'll try to revive that as its own thing too.

Mario Kart is now above Pokemon. Ark Survival next.

The 160,000,000 number is from as early as 2013. I don't know why people act like its such a ridiculous number either

well that number isn't even for units sold, it was for total units produced
and with how shitty the PS2 laser was, counting all the store display/demo units and other defects/warranty causing returns and replacements the real sales number being 155 makes a lot of sense

What the hell? Where is this phantom arkfag crowd? I don't hear shit about the game.

Ngl I think if tomodachi life 2 is switch 1 exclusive it will pass ps2 next year

what do you mean by switch 1 exclusive, it's almost certainly gonna be at least backward compatible, probably a switch 2 edition for it as well

switch 1 exclusive

Every single Switch game is playable on Switch 2 with the sole exception of one of the Labo cardboard games

RPG would most likely require SE to play ball and we know they're retarded enough not to. I'm not sure they'll go back to classic Paper Mario either but who really knows, I just hope they remake 64 at some point at least.

Looks like the 160 million units might not be passed ever if Nintendo is only expecting 4.5 million until next March. That'll put it at 156.5 million and that's if they even reach their forecast. Also who knows if they even continue producing Switch 1 units or change all production to Switch 2 by next next FY.

I just want to be optimistic, Mario RPGs (Rabbids aside) seemed dead for a long time on Switch until they got a sudden resurgence in the span of a year. I hope they keep going.

That means super low pre-order numbers. No surprise given X is still CENSORED.

156.6

It's over.

162 Million.jpg - 2560x1440, 616.73K

Nintendo will add 8 millions to the Switch 1 number 10 years from now, don't worry.

Who normally makes the software sales chart? I want to see the updated version with this new data.

That's a bannable offense these days. The guy who tried to keep making Famitsu threads got perma'd before site hack.

Unironically might be due to the tariffs/ trade war with China

They likley will fully focus on switch2 production since basically every american Switch 2 will have to be Vietnam made so the chink factory will need to hard carry the reat of the world

The fact you're bitching about censorship rather than the retarded shit they did with the added content tells me all i need to know

Sony finds another 10 million PS2s sold on Planet Galmesh.

That's not what I meant. I just mean the more updated version of this.

It's sucks since this was the last quarter of that fiscal year we'll never find out how much it sold because it won't do another million on top next fiscal year

As long as it does a million at all, Nintendo will report it.

It's made by some fag on twatter. Last time he made up some updates for games that weren't disclosed my Nintendo and said trust me bro

Lmfao at Tendies

The fact you're bitching about censorship rather than the retarded shit they did with the added content tells me all i need to know

When are you gonna wise up? Nobody wants to buy a censored game. Doesn't matter what bullshit retcons MS does, a censored game ain't worth playing.

Don't they only report games that did at least million during the fiscal year?
I doubt XCX will do another million between April 2025 and March 2026

Which games will you be getting?

games.jpg - 2136x1198, 735.32K

Tick tock, Snoy. Switch will keep selling for years to come still

BOTW was a launch title for two Nintendo consoles in a row

grim.

It doesn't even have Fast Fusion on there, that's a Day One buy for me.

drag and drive is ''summer''

mkw is june

dkb is july

so that's august then.
putting Metroid Prime 4 release between november 10th to december 15th. most likely mid november.
as kirby airriders is mid december.

pokemon champions

the fuck is this?

I'm getting Switch 2 on day one with Mario Kart World, Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma and Fast Fusion. Also interested in DK Bananza, the Kirby update, Metroid Prime 4, Pokémon and Hyrule Warriors later in the year. Drag and Drive looks lame but I might consider it if it gets a better showing.

oh but it was fine for OoT and MM to be early launches on the gamecube.
faggot.
same for mario64 and the ds.

putting Metroid Prime 4 release between november 10th to december 15th. most likely mid november.

The week before Black Friday is always for Pokémon. You can bet Z-A is the title releasing mid-November. I think Prime 4 is more likely to release in September or October.

Champions is a PvP game that likely connects to Pokémon Home and lets you battle with multiple regional gimmicks: youtube.com/watch?v=Ik6IGiCzFzQ

OoT MQ

Didn't come out until two years into the GCN, and it had new dungeon puzzles.

Collection

Pre-order bonus.

SM64DS

Tons of new and rearranged content.

Tick tock snoys

Nintendo doesn’t make an older game available on their new hardware

AAAH GREEDY NINTENDO I WILL PIRATE IT BECAUSE

Nintendo makes older game available on their new hardware

NOOOOOOOOOOO GRIM GRIM GRIM AAAAAAAIIEEE
what the fuck do you people want?

Schizos will seethe about Nintendo no matter what.

That's as of the end of March, right? It's probably 155 by now.

Not charging full-price for nearly decade-old games would be a nice start.

but it was fine for OoT and MM to be early launches on the gamecube.

anon these came out in 2003, over a year after the gamecube's launch

same for mario64 and the ds.

anon, mario 64 DS is a remake.
You can put a switch 1 BOTW cartridge in a switch 2 and play BOTW. Does the Switch 2 version even include the dlc from the original release?

wgslv.png - 801x781, 1.1M

Does the Switch 2 version even include the dlc from the original release?

Of course not!

balatro-nope.gif - 250x300, 531.79K

Oh yeah it's some furry faggot. I guess he hasn't made it yet.

not exactly a feat when you conditioned a fanbase to keep buying special editions/updates that should have been there at launch
hope you have a extra 500$ in a few years for that OLED Switch 2

MKW, Bananza, Prime 4, Pokemon Z-A, Rhythm Heaven

onditioned a fanbase to keep buying special editions/updates that should have been there at launch

and sony conditioned their base to buy shit MISSING basic features. enjoy your no disk drove or stand for 800 buckos + tips + online. while they ever raise prices.
Christ you niggers are insufferable twats with no awareness.

hope you have a extra 500$ in a few years for that OLED Switch 2

That's a Day One buy for me.

why aren't you talking about Sony in a Nintendo thread!?!

angelica.gif - 498x375, 387.27K

How is Sony even allowed to lie about sales numbers? No way they sold 4 million more PS2s in some random market.

You know this applies just as much to Nintendo.

but Sony

every time
like clockwork

you mean this chart?

People will see this shit and still argue the Switch 2 doesn't have a killer app lmao.

I think it's funny that whoever usually posts these here goes as far as to erase his watermark

Mario and Luigi did well, hope it means we'll get a sequel, Brothership was good but had glarring issues, would love to see them try again

Paper Mario TTYD at 2.1 million

That's it? For all the noise people made about TTYD for years, this seems almost dismal.

It's ok when Sony does it

Fucking faggots.

It got outsold by Origami King btw

Very nice numbers for Jamboree. It feels good to have good MP games again.

Switch is going to outsell DS despite being thrice as expensive and having less special editions for collectors. People with multiple units are an extreme minority

you are seething about Sony when no one mentioned them but ill throw you a bone
Nintendo released a Switch without dock now they are the worst company ever right?

I'm waiting for the next Monolithsoft game.

I beat it 10 years ago. Why would I buy it again?

Mario Party went nuts this generation, SMP did 21 million and MPS 14. I can see Jamboree easily reach 10+ since it will continue getting focus on Switch 2.

Brothershit fails to outsell TTYD

M&Lfags have been veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery quiet ever since this dropped. Almost like all their hooplah was for nothing. Easily the most mediocre M&L and it shows, it has no legs with word of mouth saying how much of a slog it is + the mandate confirmation article.

MK World, Bananza, and Soulcalibur II

nta, but Switch without the dock is less expensive, not more lol

PMfags deserve it after how fucking annoying they collectively got and how much they actively shoved PM64 to the side (and the other RPGs) to wax poetic exclusively about TTYD. They got a remake that runs at half the framerate of the original and a sanitized script rewrite (which is amazing to say when the original was already a fucking Mario game), and they didn't vote with their wallets. SMRPGchads, meanwhile, prosper.

has no legs.

Sold more during the quarter compared to the demake.

Switch 1 still has these games left

Pokémon Z/A

Tomofachi Life 2 (on Twitter this got more likes than the Switch 2 announcement btw)

MP4

Rhythm heaven

Dragon Quest I & II HD2D

Plus some very popular indie games like Silksonc and Hades 2, and whatever Nintendo still has left for the console.
Should be an easy way to the top so long as they don't suddenly stop making them.

Compare them by quarter if you have to, they released with a six-month difference. TTYD was at 1.96 million six months ago so their aligned sales are basically identical. It makes no sense to prop one up over the other.

mario kart 8 deluxe

when will the horror end

When Nintendofags get some fucking impulse control.

hellfrozen.jpg - 576x432, 35.37K

I feel like the top Switch 1 games that don't outright get replaced by Switch 2 sequels will keep selling well into the next generation. And I wouldn't say MK8D gets replaced by MKW due to how different they are and the amount of content MK8D has.

That's what happens when you have the SAME game for more than 10 years.

u bet your ass switch will get more smaller nintendo games next year and in 2027 if the thing still sells.

So do any of you people actually own shares of Nintendo? Also don't forget to buy it on launch and never update the firmware.

It's crazy they aren't shitting out lazy ports for Switch as a bolster if Switch 2 didn't go well. 3DS was releasing games up to 2 years into the Switch's life. Nintendo put out 2 games in 6 months and they didn't announce anything for 2025 in the final Switch direct.

Never, Mario Kart 8 will continue to sell on Switch 2 in spite of MKW's existence

i think is over for piracy at least on a software level, on switch we still cant get a cold boot cfw after all this time

The series needed that period of weird experimental games for this to happen and as long as they don't release too many games in a short time again they can continue making classic games without people getting tired of them.

Rhythm Heaven and Deltarune on my Switch 1
Whenever I get a Switch 2 I'll get Bananza, Prime 4, and maybe MK World depending on how good the offline is because no fucking way I'm buying an NSO subscription other than the one I'll regret buying whenever a new Smash comes out

NOOO NOT LIKE THAT

The 160,000,000 number is from as early as 2013

No it ain't. Back in the day when the DS beat the PS2 they bumped the units to like 156m. Then they bumped then again to 160m+ because that CEO who has left the company said in a random ass podcast that magically 4 million PS2s were somehow sold through the years.

Absolute cope.

Reminder that those GTA numbers are padded from Epic Store free copies.

Sony really tried to claim they sold every single PS2 they produced, without any loss by shrinkage of any kind (manufacturing errors, shipping errors, or theft)

Yeah that's true, but here's hoping it happens anyway, right?

You people are absolutely insane and it's why Nintendo screws you so hard.

I got my PS2 replaced during warranty because the disk drive failed, in Sony’s eyes I bought 2 PS2’s. Is that correct?

because no fucking way I'm buying an NSO subscription

I caved and bought it earlier this year for the first time. The game catalog is just becoming so damn stacked

You dont know that

its literally how they explain the 160 M figure, they show the serial number of the last PS2 manufactured.

Makes sense though right? PS2s wouldn't end up in a landfill or warehouse, they'd just be discounted until they eventually sell
